Discontinued Day #05: Kiko Vinyl Lips in #04 Sleek Magenta [Fierce Spirit LE]

e ben ritrovate col nostro appuntamente mensile coi prodotti ormai introvabili. Anche stavolta vi mostro un prodotto che appartiene al passato recente, ovvero il rossetto liquido Kiko Vinyl Lips nella colorazione #04 Sleek Magenta (Fierce Spirit LE).
Questo lipgloss mi è piaciuto moltissimo, è davvero molto coprente e dall'effetto vinile molto marcato. Anche il colore è adorabile, un rosa magenta intenso con leggerissimo shimmer. L'applicatore a spugnetta è pratico e consente di essere piuttosto precise in pochi gesti.
Per essere un gloss ha anche un'ottima durata (sulle quattro ore pur fumando e bevendo) e non è appiccicoso come tanti prodotti di questa famiglia. L'unico difetto che gli ho trovato è che tende un po' ad infilarsi nelle pieghette: nulla di drammatico, ma io preferisco "arginarlo" con la solita matita invisibile Lip Line Perfector di Make Up For Ever.
E ora sono davvero curiosa di vedere cos'hanno rispolverato le altre ragazze. Buona serata!

Here I am with another product from the past for our Discontinued Day #05. Once again, I picked a make-up product from the recent past, that's Kiko Vinyl Lips in #04 Sleek Magenta (from Fierce Spirit LE).
I really like this lipgloss, it has an amazing coverage and the vinyl effect is really marked, it's super bright and glossy! The colour is adorable, a gorgeous magenta pink with a subtle shimmer.
I appreciate its applicator too, the product is easy to apply and you can be precise in a few, simple and fast gestures. It has a good longevity, it usually lasts approx four hours on my lips (even if I drink 3 lts of water a day and I smoke a lot). 
Its only defect is that this lipgloss tends to crease a bit: nothing tragic, but I prefer to use my usual invisible lip pencil, that's Lip Line Perfector by Make Up For Ever.

September Empties

Seguo sempre con estremo interesse la rubrica "Smaltimento Cosmetici" della bravissima La Dama Bianca di Recensioni Cosmetiche. Tanto è riuscita ad appassionarmi che ho deciso di ritagliare uno spazio analogo anche sul mio blog; sono sicura che mi sarà anche estremamente utile come stimolo a terminare i numerosi prodotti che da troppo tempo sono agli sgoccioli ma a cui non riesco a dare il colpo di grazia (ogni riferimento ai 5 diversi top coat fast drying aperti che agonizzano nei miei cassetti è puramente casuale).
Ed ecco a voi i prodotti che ho terminato a settembre:

• Sally Hansen Diamond Strenght: semplicemente, la base perfetta. Ne ho provate tantissime, ma nessuna riesce a soddisfarmi come lei. Vi ho raccontato tutto sulle sue performances in questo post.
• Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Coat (High Gloss): un prodotto il cui destino è stato a lungo oscuro, e mi riferisco alle recenti dismissioni di alcuni prodotti Essence. Se non ho capito male, verrà mantenuto nel range ma con un restyling. In ogni caso, un ottimo top coat dal prezzo irrisorio, anche se personalmente preferisco la versione Fast Dry (tristemente divenuta discontinued).
• Essence Nail Polish Remover Ultra: altro prodotto mio fedele alleato nella routine smaltara. Costa poco, rimuove lo smalto velocemente ed efficacemente e non rovina le unghie.
• Ultra Dolce al Latte Vegetale Idratante: signore, io con gli shampoo ecobio ci ho provato. Ricavandone solo reazioni allergiche e dermatiti. Dopo lungo peregrinare sono tornata a lui. Per i miei capelli sottilissimi, lisci e un po' sfibrati è il meglio che ho trovato.
• Splend'Or Balsamo ai Fiori di Mandorlo e Karité: dopo aver preso una tranvata allucinante col suo fratello al Cocco, ben più conosciuto ed amato, che però su di me si è rivelato totalmente insoddisfacente, ho trovato l'ammmmore con lui. E' leggero, nutriente, districa bene e lascia un profumo delizioso. Dopo aver utilizzato balsami infinitamente più costosi e meno performanti, posso dirvi che lo Splend'Or ai Fiori di Mandorlo e Karité è l'ennesima riprova che non sempre "economico" vuol dire di cattiva qualità. Anzi, può capitare esattamente il contrario.

Questi erano i miei vuoti di settembre, spero di far meglio ad ottobre... Ed in effetti vi anticipo che il mese è iniziato alla grande!


I always read with interest the blog "Recensioni Cosmetiche" written by the talented and super nice Sara. She has a column called "Smaltimento Cosmetici" which talks about her monthly empties and, month after month, post after post, I decided to do the same on my blog. I'm sure this will help me to give the final blow to all these products that are almost used up which lie in my drawers since months (any reference to my five, almost finished, different fast drying top coats is purely coincidental).
So, let's see my empties of the month!

• Sally Hansen Diamond Strength: simply the perfect base. I've tried many, many base coats but none can satisfy me like this one. In this post you can see my full review about this product.
• Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Coat (High Gloss): a product whose fate has long been dark; at first it seemed that it would become a discontinued product. If I understood properly, it will be kept in the permanent range, but with a makeover. In any case, it is an excellent top coat with a ridiculously low price - although personally I prefer the Fast Dry version  (which has sadly become discontinued).
• Essence Nail Polish Remover Ultra: another product which is one of my loyal ally in nail polish routine. It's cheap, it removes nail polish quickly and well and it doesn't ruin my nails.
• Ultra Dolce al Latte Vegetale Idratante (shampoo): I tried a lot of shampoos. Cheap, expensive, eco bio, etc. But after long wanderings I came back to this cheap shampoo by Garnier. For my thin, straight and ruined hair this is the best option.
• Splend'Or ai Fiori di Mandorlo e Karité (hair conditioner): the version with Coconut is very known and loved here in Italy. I tried it and I wasn't satisfied, at all. But I decided to test this version with almond flowers and shea butter and I immediately fell in love! It has a light texture, it nourishes and detangles my hair. Moreover, it has a lovely scent. And it is super cheap! This Splend'Or Hair Conditioner is another proof that you don't need to pay crazy prices if you want a quality product.

These are my finished products of the month, see you at the beginning of November with October empties. I already finish a make-up product so I'm really proud of myself!
 

Jade Magia

Ah signore mie, oggi le mie batterie sono proprio a terra. Una grande stanchezza mi pervade.
Se mi leggete da tempo, sapete che per me lo smalto, come la nail art, è anche un modo di ricaricarmi, una specie di piccola autoterapia antistress. E stasera ci vuole davvero qualcosa di notevole per tirarmi su, una specie di argano a motore formato boccetta.
Per cui ecco a voi il Jade Magia (chiamato Magia Negra nella prima release), un rarissimo nero con effetto holo linear - senza nulla togliere al nostrano Layla Flash Black, che è splendido, ma decisamente non è nero.
Questo gioiello ha una stesura e una durata ineccepibili, una bella coprenza (due mani sottili nelle foto) ma tempi di asciugatura non proprio rapidi. Io direi che glielo si può tranquillamente perdonare, e voi che dite?

My beloved readers, today I'm really, really tired. I'm simply exhausted. 
I have the ability to handle heavy workloads and operate effectively under stressful conditions, but when I am at home, I need something to alleviate the stress of daily life. And I have often written that nail polish (and nail art) is a sort of therapy for me. 
So, for today's post, I picked something really special, that's Jade Magia (also called Magia Negra in the first release). Magia is a true black with an amazing, strong linear holo effect. Finding a black polish with a holo linear effect is really rare, i.e. Layla Flash Black is beautiful, but it's a dark grey.
This jewel has a flawless formula, application is easy and simple and longevity is good too, but it takes a bit to dry. Pigmentation is high, in my pics you can see how it looks after two, thin coats.
Isn't it gorgeous?!

Mish Mash Challenge #10: TRIANGLE [Geometrical Textured Nails]

In Italy we have a very famous and loved singer who is called Renato Zero. Many years ago, he wrote a song called "Triangle"; this song was considered scandalous because, of course, it talks about a "sexy party for three". Anyway, if you're Italian and you hear the word "Triangolo", you immediately start singing this old but super famous song. It's written in our DNA!!! (if you're curious to listen to it, Renato Zero also did an international English version)
Back to us, here it is my proposal for this tenth post of Mish Mash Challenge: geometrical textured nails! Here it is a list of the products I used:

• Golden Rose #72 (base colour)
• Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (the red polish)
• Kiko #640 Rosso Papavero (dark orange)
• Kiko #642 Fucsia (obviously the fuchsia one)

"Il triangolo no, non l'avevo considerato!". Ok, sono abbastanza ovvia, ma secondo me è scritto proprio nel DNA di noi italiani il partire in quarta cantando questa canzone quando sentiamo la parola "triangolo". Triangolo che è proprio il tema di oggi della Mish Mash Challenge.
Per questa sfida ho deciso di creare una nail art geometrica con un tocco in più, ovvero quello dato dal finish sand o textured che dir si voglia. Per questa manicure ho usato:

• Golden Rose #72 (colore di base)
• Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (rosso)
• Kiko #640 Rosso Papavero (arancio più scuro)
• Kiko #642 Fucsia (ovviamente il rosa carico)

Golden Rose Holiday #72

Ciao a tutte!
Rieccomi con una recensione targata Polishinail. Oggi è il turno del Golden Rose Holiday #72. Ormai sapete tutte quanto mi piaccia il finish sand, per cui non sto a ripetervi quanto mi entusiasmi indossare questo genere di smalti. Ciò si è tradotto in un enorme apprezzamento generale, da parte mia, della collezione Holiday di Golden Rose, che propone una notevole gamma colori con prezzi molto più concorrenziali dei "mostri sacri" OPI e Zoya.
Tornando allo smalto del giorno, il Golden Rose Holiday #72 è un arancio molto delicato, direi "pescato", con microglitter multicolor molto luminosi. Ovviamente la mancanza di sole (se non un debole e poco convinto raggio uscito nel tardo pomeriggio dello scorso week-end) ha reso pressoché impossibile riuscire ad immortalarli al meglio. A dispetto del colore molto chiaro, è coprente in due passate ed asciuga molto in fretta. Decisamente soddisfacente anche la durata.
Lo rivedrete comunque in azione molto presto nella mia prossima nail art (spoiler sulla mia pagina Facebook) per cui rimanete sintonizzate!

Here I am again with another review of a polish which was kindly sent me by Anne of Polishinail. Today I'm going to show (and talk about) Golden Rose Holiday #72. I'm sure that all of you know that I'm crazy in love with sand/textured nail polish, so you can easily imagine that I'm very happy to review another product which belongs to Holiday Collection. Let me also say that I've appreciated a lot the variety of shades included in this collection. 
Back to us: Golden Rose Holiday #72 is a soft (almost peachy) orange with a textured finish which includes multicolor microglitters. Unfortunately the weather had been so bad since last Friday so I didn't have the chance to take pictures in direct sunlight. 
Even if the colour is delicate and light, after two coats it has a perfect coverage, it applies easily and it dries fast.  I'm really happy with its longevity too.
You will see it again soon because it is the base colour of my latest nail art (there's a spoiler on my Facebook page), so stay tuned!

Kiko Dark Heroine LE: Smoky Look Eyeshadow in #07 Inspiration Blue

Ciao ragazze e buona (piovosa) domenica!
Oggi vi mostro il secondo e ultimo acquisto da me fatto targato Dark Heroine di Kiko (qui invece per vedere la mia recensione della Twinkle Eye Pencil Bewitched Periwinkle). Insomma, oggi vi parlo dell'ombretto in matitone Smoky Look Eyeshadow nella variante colore #07 Inspiration Blue.
Non potevo farmi sfuggire un ombretto color blu definitivo, come lo definisco io - per il resto del mondo è un blu elettrico dal finish opaco. Un prodotto estremamente pratico da usare, anche se non certo d'avanguardia (il principio è un po' quello degli storici Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows). Per far fuoriuscire il prodotto è sufficiente ruotare l'estremità del matitone.
Il colore è pieno e vibrante sin dalla prima passata, la consistenza è morbida e confortevole e si sfuma molto bene e dura davvero a lungo.
L'unico appunto è (IMO) l'inutilità dello sfumino in fondo al matitone, che reputo sostanzialmente inutile perché, più che sfumare, porta via il colore quasi del tutto.
In generale questo matitone a me è piaciuto molto, l'ho usato parecchio nel mio tempo libero e nelle giornate di sole, insomma lo promuovo! Nel caso ve lo stiate chiedendo, costa 6.90€ per 1.8 grammi di prodotto. Un discreto rapporto qualità-quantità-prezzo, insomma.

Hi ladies and happy (rainy) Sunday!
Today I'm going to show you the second and last product I bought from Kiko Dark Heroine Limited Edition Collection (here my swatches and review of the Twinkle Eye Pencil in Bewitched Periwinkle), that's the jumbo eye pencil called Smoky Look Eyeshadow in #07 Inspiration Blue.
As you probably know I'm crazy for this kind of colour, that I usually call "definitive blue" - or to better say, an electric blue with an opaque finish. This product is really easy and comfortable to use, it has essentially the same principle of Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (an authomatic eye pencil with a big applicator).
Colour is full and vibrant since the first pass and is buildable on the lid; it's creamy so you don't have to pull on the lid to apply it and is easy to blend too. 
Just a small note on the the applicator located on the opposite end of the tip: in my opinion it is useless. I'd say that it erases the colour instead of blending it.
Anyway, I like this products a lot, I've used it quite often during my free time and during the last days of good weather. In case you are wondering, here in Italy it costs 6.90€ for 1.8 grams of product, so I think it has a good value for money.

[Haul] From Brazil with love

Beh, ad essere completamente oneste questo non è esattamente un post haul, perché questi bambini mi sono arrivati come regalo da parte di mio cognato che, dopo tanti anni, è finalmente tornato in Italia a trovarci. Sono stata una ragazza fortunata, ho potuto scegliere io stessa ogni singolo smalto da far entrare in casa mia, on line e comodamente seduta sul mio divano.
Ma andiamo a vedere uno per uno i miei nuovi tesori!

Well, this is not exactly a haul, because all these babies are part of the gift that my brother-in-law made me a couple of weeks ago.
