October Empties

Buona domenica donzelle!
Tempo di bilanci riguardo i miei Monthly Empties. Durante lo scorso mese non ho terminato molti prodotti (solo quattro + un "intruso"), ma ben due sono ombretti, quindi sono comunque piuttosto soddisfatta. Ma andiamo subito a vedere i miei vuoti di ottobre:

• Bottega Verde Ombretto Wet&Dry Bianco/White: non ricordo nemmeno da quanto tempo l'avevo, ma sicuramente dai tempi dell'università. Ottimo per creare punti luce nell'angolo interno dell'occhio o per illuminare la parte sottostante l'arcata sopraccigliare. 
• Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in #01: ho recensito qui e anche qui altri colori di questa linea. L'ho già ricomprato, lo trovo assolutamente fantastico ed insostituibile, anche per la praticità di utilizzo.
• NYC Turbo Dry Top Coat: già riacquistato anche questo. Costa pochissimo (1.99€) e svolge egregiamente il suo dovere. Un uccellino ha inoltre confrontato il suo INCI con quello del ben più costoso (e da me amatissimo) Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, e sono risultati identici (grazie per la dritta Alice!).
• Lush Settimo Cielo: forse la mia maschera viso preferita in assoluto. Trasforma letteralmente la pelle, rendendola morbidissima e vellutata grazie alla delicata ma incisiva esfoliazione, e la rende anche molto più luminosa. Unico contro: il prezzo.
• Garnier Roll On alla Caffeina: l'intruso. Nel senso che l'ho cestinato senza terminarlo. L'ho acquistato 2-3 anni fa appena uscito; dopo alcune applicazioni in seguito alle quali non avevo notato nessun effetto particolare (dovrebbe decongestionare e rivitalizzare gli occhi gonfi e stanchi), aveva iniziato a darmi proprio noia, provocandomi copiosa lacrimazione. L'ho accantonato per parecchio tempo, finché non mi sono decisa a buttarlo - se già mi provocava allergia appena aperto, figuriamoci ora che ha superato la data di scadenza da un pezzo.

E anche per questo mese è tutto! Per novembre ho nel mirino, su tutti, un fondotinta e una matita occhi. Staremo a vedere!


Good Sunday ladies! 
October is already gone, so it's time to show you my Monthly Empties. During the past month I finished only a few products (four + one "intruder"), but two of them are make-up products (eyeshadows), so I'm still quite satisfied. 
But let's see in detail my October empties: 

• Bottega Verde Eyeshadow Wet &Dry Bianco/White: wow, I can't remember when I bought this eyeshadow, but I still was a university student for sure. Anyway, I love it because it was great to create a spot light in the inner corner of the eye or to illuminate the browbone. 
• Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in #01: I previously reviewed here and here other shades from this collection. I have already repurchased it, I find it absolutely fantastic and irreplaceable, it's so easy to use and has such a great quality! 
• NYC Turbo Dry Top Coat: I have already repurchased this too. It is super cheap (it costs 1.99€ only here in Italy) and has a very good quality. My polished friend Alice has compared its INCI with that of our beloved Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, which is much more expensive here in Italy, and told me that they are identical (thanks for the tip Alice!). 
• Lush Settimo Cielo (Brazened Honey): maybe my favourite face mask ever. It literally transforms my skin, making it soft and smooth thanks to the gentle but effective exfoliation, and also makes it look much brighter. Its only cons: its price!
• Garnier Roll On Caffeine: the intruder. Because I didn't finish it, but I simply threw it in the trash. I bought it a couple of years ago (it was a new launch at that time), and after some applications I didn't notice any particular effect (it should decongest and revitalize tired and puffy eyes); on the other hand, after a while it started to give me a sort of allergy, my eyes became red and were watering after application. So I simply stopped using it and I put it aside, and now I finally decided to throw it in the trash - if it caused me an allergy when it was just opened, I can't imagine what it could happen now that it's expired! 

So these were my October Empties. My "targets" of November are a foundation and an eyepencil. We'll see...!

My Halloween Nails [Claw Polish Sinister + Unnamed Pumpkin]

Un post veloce per mostrarvi le mie unghie halloweenesche di quest'anno, che sono state in un certo senso "sponsorizzate" dalla magnifica Karen di Frazzle and Aniploish che è stata tanto gentile da acconsentire ad un piccolo swap. Erano anni che volevo mettere le mani su quei deliziosi smalti americani a forma di zucca, tomba e bara di vampiro, e grazie a lei questo piccolo sogno è diventato realtà.
Ho iniziato col Claw Polish Sinister, uno splendido nero lucidissimo e dall'eccellente pigmentazione (solo una mano nelle mie foto!). Poi gli ho dato un tocco in più con un topper glitter della Pumpkin privo di nome (ma quant'è carina questa boccetta? A me fa impazzire!) dalla base trasparente in cui sono annegati piccoli glitter esagonali grigi-argento e dei glitter holo a forma di mezzaluna.
Una manicure semplice e veloce, ma assolutamente e perfettamente a tema.

A quick post to show you my Halloween nails. This manicure has been "sponsored" in some way by the gorgeous Karen from Frazzle and Aniploish. A few weeks ago I left a heart-rending comment under one of her posts, in which she showed all the Halloween polish displays, saying that I was dying for all those beautiful bottles with unusual shapes (tombstones, pumpkins, vampire's coffins). She immediately proposed to send me some of them. Isn't she lovely?!? I have drooled for years for those super cute bottles with lovely shapes and now I finally own them!
For this manicure I started with just one coat of Claw Polish Sinister, a perfect and super glossy black with a creme finish and an incredibile pigmentation. Then I added one coat of a no name Pumpkin Nail topper with a clear base and grey-silver hex glitter and holographic crescent moons glitter.
A simple and fast manicure, but perfect for Halloween.

Mish Mash Challenge #14: PINK [Shaka Pink Rock + Essence Party Princess]

Hi ladies!
Today's theme of Mish Mash Challenge is Pink, and I really wanted to create a nail art, but in these last days I'm a bit uninspired: maybe because the weather is horrible - rain, rain, rain and fog, maybe because in this last period I'm suffering of a sort of nail blogging crisis and sometimes I think to give up, but my brain was completely empty.
So I decided to simply show you two pink nail polishes, with two different finishes and from two different brands but associated by their cheap price: Shaka Pink Rock and Essence Party Princess.
When I talk about Shaka, my patriotic feelings raise, because it's, IMO, one of the best brand we have in Italy. It's cheap, it has a nice range of products and has a good (or even excellent) quality.
Shaka Pink Rock is a bright pink with an odd creme finish and a perfect formula. Two easy coats in my pics, it dries fast and with a super glossy aspect and has a good longevity too. I wrote that its finish is odd because, in artificial lights, it shows a sort of slight iridescence, a sort of very subtle shimmer. In natural light, this iridescence completely disappears and, on the nails, it looks like a standard creme polish.
Essence Party Princess is a nice pink with a sheer base and super cute multicolor glitter particles. In my pics, you can see how two thin coats of Party Princess look over Shaka Pink Rock.

Il tema di oggi è il rosa, e io avrei voluto realizzare una nail art a tema, ma in questi ultimi giorni mi sento davvero svuotata e priva di ispirazione. Forse per colpa del tempo - sto davvero facendo la muffa tra pioggia continua e nebbia, forse perché sto attraversando un periodo di stanca dal punto di vista del nail blogging - della serie "mò chiudo baracca e burattini e tanti saluti", ma la mia testa è davvero vuota. Più del solito, intendo (ah ah ah).
In ogni caso, ho deciso di mostrare ben due smalti rosa, dai finish diversi, di due differenti brand, ma accomunati dalla loro pucciosità e dal loro prezzo davvero economico: Shaka Pink Rock e Essence Party Princess.
Quando parlo di Shaka sale in me lo spirito patriottico del tipo "qualcosa di buono a prezzi più che abbordabili ce l'abbiamo anche noi!", perché più provo questo marchio, più ottengo soddisfazione dai suoi prodotti. Pink Rock è un rosa carico dal finish creme e dalla formula impeccabile; due mani nelle mie foto, asciuga in fretta e con un aspetto superlucido e ha anche una buona durata. Una nota curiosa: sotto le luci artificiali mostra una leggera iridescenza, una specie di shimmer molto discreto. Alla luce naturale, questa iridescenza si perde completamente, e appare come un creme standard. Buffo, no?
L'Essence Party Princess, invece, è un delizioso rosa dalla base sheer e dalle particelle glitter multicolore. Nelle mie foto, due mani sottili sopra lo Shaka Pink Rock.

Wjcon #182

Buonasera a tutte!
Momento di debutto sul mio blog, difatti questo è il primo post che scrivo sul marchio italiano Wjcon, che però avevo già avuto modo di apprezzare in passato.
Oltre a fare dei textured davvero particolari, Wjcon ha anche una linea di smalti dai finish più "comuni" ma non meno interessanti. Come ad esempio lo smalto del giorno, il #182, uno splendido pervinca chiaro dallo shimmer argentato.
Il Wjcon #182 è un tantino sheer, quelle nelle mie foto sono tre passate, ma l'applicazione è talmente semplice che quello strato extra non mi è pesato affatto. Inoltre, asciuga in tempi incredibilmente rapidi. Infine, nulla da eccepire sulla durata, che è davvero eccellente.
Un ottimo debutto, non credete?! E anche per oggi è tutto, vi abbraccio e vi dò appuntamento a presto!

Today I'm going to show you a nail polish by a brand which is new for my blog, that's Wjcon.
Wjcon is an Italian brand with quite cheap prices (just to give you an idea, it has, more or less, the same price range than Kiko) and has a very nice range of colours, finishes and shades. Their textured polishes are amazing, but I also appreciate their nail polishes with more "classic" finishes, just like the colour of the day, Wjcon #182.
Wjcon #182 has a light periwinkle base with beautiful silver shimmer particles. It's a bit sheer (three coats in my pics) but formula is really good and I like the brush too, so application was easy and fast despite this extra coat. It dries fast and has an excellent longevity too.

Hits Speciallità Melon [Hello Kitty Collection]

Buon sabato a tutte!
Oggi vi mostro uno smalto di cui avevate già avuto un assaggio qualche post fa, in occasione della mia ultima one stroke floreale. Sto parlando dell'Hits Speciallità Melon, facente parte di una delle tante collezioni dedicate dal brand brasiliano a Hello Kitty. Non so se l'avevo già accennato, ma io detesto Hello Kitty. Di un odio ancestrale, immotivato ma profondo. Devo ammettere che l'idea di avere nel mio stash una boccetta di smalto a forma della malefica gattaccia non mi esaltava ma... Beh, quando un colore è bello e costa poco più di 1€... In fondo chisseneimpippa?!?
Il Melon è un bellissimo verde carico dal finish jelly; una volta asciutto appare quindi lucidissimo, tuttavia ci vogliono tre passate (per fortuna facili) per ottenere la coprenza perfetta. I tempi di asciugatura non sono proprio veloci, ma si fa perdonare con la durata, che è veramente buona.
Insomma, per il prezzo che ha ne sono rimasta davvero entusiasta.

Hi ladies and good Saturday!
Today I'm going to show you in detail a nail polish that I've already used for my last floreal one stroke manicure, so you have already had a sort of sneak peek on it. I'm talking about Hits Speciallità Melon, from one of the many collections that the brazilian brand dedicated to Hello Kitty.
First-of-all, I must admit that I hate Hello Kitty. I really, deeply hate her. I can't stand her face and all the gadgets with her image (if you're a fan of her, please forgive me! ç_ç ).
The bottle of this nail polish has the shape of Hello Kitty's face and at that point you can easily imagine that I don't like it (even if I think it is super cute if you're a fan) but honestly... Who cares?!? The colour of this nail polish is absolutely amazing and it was super cheap too (I paid it about 1€). I couldn't resist!!
Anyway, Hits Speciallità Melon is a bright green with a jelly finish; it looks super glossy once dried, but it's a bit sheer (three coats in my pics, but application was super easy). Drying time is not fast, and longevity is quite high.
My final verdict is that I'm enthusiast about this nail polish, expecially if I consider how cheap it was. And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a super nice week-end!

Mish Mash Challenge #13: RAINBOW [Spotted Rainbow]

Hi ladies!
Another nail art for our Mish Mash Challenge, and the theme of the day is Rainbow. When I think at rainbow nails, I immediately feel the need to create a gradient or a water marble manicure.
For this post I decided to start with gradient nails with six different nail polishes (from yellow to hot pink) and then added a super thin coat of OPI Black Spotted to create a sort of "now you see me, now you don't" effect. In the last picture (sorry for the low quality but it was taken with artificial lights) you can see the gradient on its own. Altra nail art per la nostra Mish Mash Challenge, dal tema Rainbow. Quando sento parlare di unghie arcobaleno mi prudono subito le mani dalla voglia di realizzare una gradient o una water marble. Stavolta mi sono orientata verso la gradient, e con ben sei smalti (dal giallo al rosa carico)! Ho poi steso una mano sottilissima di OPI Black Spotted per creare un effetto vedo non vedo. Nella ultima foto la gradient sola soletta, mi spiace per la pessima qualità ma ho fatto le foto con la luce artificiale. Comunque, se volete sapere come realizzo le gradient vi lascio il link del video di un'altra mia nail art, ma che inizia sempre con una gradient arcobaleno come base, e ovviamente anche la lista dei prodotti usati:
