Kiko #389 - Lattementa

E' da tanto che non vi mostro più uno smalto Kiko, dimostrando uno spirito ben poco campanilista smaltariamente parlando, per cui eccovi il 389 Lattementa, che fa parte della ultima, massiccia "buttata" di colorazioni proposte dalla casa bergamasca e che vi avevo mostrato rapidamente in questo post haul.
Lattementa è un verde-azzurro cremoso, tecnicamente potrebbe essere definito un pastello ma è davvero molto acceso e luminoso anche senza top coat. Il suo punto debole sta senz'altro nell'applicazione: ostica a dir poco. Tende a stendersi con fatica, creando delle striature che si autolivellano solo se si utilizza sopra un top coat ad asciugatura rapida coi fiocchi.
Pigmentazione molto buona (due mani nelle foto), asciugatura rapida e durata sempre buona.
Il colore è stato davvero difficile da catturare, con tre fotocamere tre non sono soddisfatta del risultato comunque: nella foto al sole il verde non "esce" come dovrebbe. Diverso il discorso per le foto all'ombra, il colore è decisamente veritiero.

I haven't posted a polish by Kiko for a while... I'm not so patriotic when it comes to nail polishes! Today I have for you #389 Lattementa (Mint-flavored Milk), that I quickly showed you in a previous post together with other purchases of that month.
Lattementa is a green/light blue creme, in theory it could be defined a pastel but IRL it's really bright and glossy even w/o top coat. Unluckily, application is awful: formula is sooo streaky and it doesn't self-level, I recommend the use of a high quality fast drying top coat to avoid this problem. 
Pigmentation is really good (two thin coats in my pics), it dries fast and has a good longevity too.
It was hard to photograph it, I tried three different cameras and it seemed that I couldn't catch properly the green. This is evident in the last pic (in direct sunlight), on the contrary I'm really satisfied with the two pics in the shade, the color is accurate.

Happy Birthday to my blog with Essie Too Too Hot!

Salve ragazze!
Giovedì scorso il mio blog ha compiuto un anno, e visto che sono una mamma degenere non ho avuto il tempo tecnico di fargli gli auguri come si deve... Recupero oggi mostrandovi il Too Too Hot di Essie, uno smalto il cui nome è già una garanzia e a cui spetta l'arduo compito di essere non solo lo smalto dell'anniversario ma anche quello dei festeggiamenti per le mie prime 50.000 visite!
Che dire... Grazie mille a tutte per il tempo che dedicate a leggere, commentare e vedere i miei posts e le mie foto!
Ciò che più mi dispiace è non poter organizzare un giveaway come mi si deve. Probabilmente molte di voi sapranno che ci sono stati diversi problemi in tal senso, in quanto il nostro Paese è l'unico al mondo che rompe gli ammennicoli per piccoli giveaway privati di gente che spende i propri soldi per poter regalare un pensierino alle proprie iscritte. *sgrunt*

Tornando al Too Too Hot... Appartenente alla collezione Braziliant del 2011, è esattamente ciò che cercavo per uscire dal mio solito trend dei colori inusuali conservando, però, un certo "non so che" di fuori dal comune.
Too Too Hot è un bel rosso carico con un tocco di corallo e dal finish che potrei definire una via di mezzo tra creme e jelly, forse per via della sua incredibile luminosità ed aspetto glossy già senza top coat. Coprenza perfetta in due passate sottili, asciugatura ultra rapida e durata decisamente buona.
Oltre ad averlo amato molto sulle unghie delle mani, mi piace da impazzire anche ai piedi, fa molto panterona chic!

Last Thursday it was my first blog anniversary but, since I am a degenerate mum, I didn't have the time to write an appropriate post. So I want to wish it "Happy Birthday" with a very special polish, Too Too Hot by Essie. Moreover, I can also celebrate the first 50.000 visits on my blog!
What can I say... Thank you soooo much for the time you spent here, reading, commenting and watching at my posts and at my pictures!
I am so sorry that I can't organize a giveaway... Maybe some of you read about the ridiculous issues about giveways in Italy, which are suppose to be against the law... I am looking for a manner to celebrate in any case, but I have to think well about this because that stupid law provides for very high fines (from 50.000 till 500.000€!!!) and I don't want to risk anything. Some months ago a very "honest" person signalled to the Ministry a lady who organized a giveaway on her blog and she's having lots of troubles. I think that, in this moment, we should care about other problems than GAs in my country...
I am sure I will find a "regular" way to celebrate, so stay tuned!

Back to us... Essie Too Too Hot belongs to Braziliant collection (summer 2011) and it's a tomato red with a hint of coral. It has a creme finish which is so glossy that it almost seems jelly. Perfect coverage in two, thin coats. It dries fast and it has a good longevity.
I love it expecially on the nails of my feet, it's chic and sexy at the same time!

A England Ascalon

Rieccoci qua con un altro smalto holo!
Anzi, la perla del giorno non è un semplice holo: A England Ascalon è uno splendido grigio con effetto duochrome lilla, oltre al travolgente e già citato effetto holo scattered assai accentuato.
Due passate per la coprenza perfetta, asciugatura rapidissima ed ottima durata.
Anche l'applicazione è stata semplice e confortevole.

A England Ascalon is even more than a holo polish: it is a grey with a lilac duochrome effect! Strong scattered holo effect plus duochrome finish?! Seriously?! Ascalon, I'm forever yours!
Application is easy and confortable, drying time is super fast and longevity is high.
Also pigmentation is really good, two coats in my pics.

Nail art time: from Orly Beach Cruiser to Orly Melt Your Popsicle [gradient]

Buonasera a tutte!
Lo so, lo so, la latitanza continua... Troppi pensieri, in questo periodo!
Vi propongo una gradient fatta qualche settimana fa. Per realizzarla ho usato l'Orly Melt Your Popsicle come base e sopra vi ho applicato l'Orly Beach Cruiser.
Mi son quasi esplose le coronarie per cercare di fotografarla, è stata davvero dura "catturare" per bene lo stacco tra due colori così sparaflesciosi!
Difficoltà tecniche a parte, credo che siano due colori che si sposano benissimo. Certo, non è esattamente la manicure che indosserei per un colloquio di lavoro, ma volete mettere che figurone vi farebbe fare in spiaggia???

I'm so sorry that I am posting so rarely in the last period... I have too many thoughts on my mind!
Today I'm going to show you a gradient manicure I realized some weeks ago. I used Orly Melt Your Popsicle as a base and I sponged Orly Beach Cruiser upon it.
I nearly became crazy trying to photograph it, it was so difficult to capture the "break" between the two colors.
But I think that these two colors work very well together. Maybe this isn't a work appropriate manicure but I think it would look great for a night out or on the beach!

Essence Dopey (and Happy Birthday to me!)

Buonasera a tutte e scusate la sparizione!
Sono stata fuori per lavoro quindi ho abbandonato letteralmente il blog!
Spero di recuperare con uno smalto proveniente da una delle TE più ricercate degli ultimi tempi, la Snow White Collection.
Dopo la sòla presa con Sleepy, non ero particolarmente entusiasta di provare un altro prodotto della stessa collezione. Ma Dopey mi ha decisamente ringalluzzita ed entusiasmata!
Dopey è un lavanda chiaro con glitterini argento non particolarmente fitti. Il finish è particolare, una via di mezzo tra creme e jelly e, chevelodicoafà, lo adoro!
Due passate per la coprenza delle foto, durata davvero ottima (ce l'ho su da una settimana ed è crollato solo oggi dopo che ci ho fatto l'improponibile!) ed asciugatura rapida.
Prima di salutarvi, però, vorrei farmi degli autoauguri! Ebbene sì, oggi compio 29 anni! Ma non ho nessuna intenzione di diventare più saggia o meno pazza!

Today I'm going to show you another polish from Snow White Collection by Essence, Dopey.
I wasn't excited about trying it after the disappointment that Sleepy caused, but I must admit that I was totally conquered by this polish!
Dopey is a light lavander with fine silver glitters. Its finish is sooo nice, a bit creme and a bit jelly, I love it!
Two coats in my pics, fast drying time and exceptional longevity - I've been wearing it for a week!
Before leaving, I want to self-wish me a happy birthday! Yeeees, today I'm turning 29 years old, but I will not become wiser or less crazy!

Essence Sleepy from Snow White Collection

Aspettavo con ansia la nuova collezione Snow White di Essence. Mi piacevano tantissimo il concetto, i colori scelti e anche i piccoli gadgets (adesivi e lima), per non parlare dell'espositore, che starebbe benissimo su uno dei miei Helmer.
Quando l'ho trovata era già stata cannibalizzata, ma sono riuscita comunque ad arraffare qualche pezzo, tra cui lo smalto del giorno, Sleepy (Pisolo).
Purtroppo ho iniziato male... Sleepy, nella bottiglia, appare come un azzurro polvere con shimmer violetto e blu. Questo shimmer non viene trasferito su unghia, per cui appare come un azzurro un po' piattino tout court.
La formula non è un granché, la seconda passata è stata abbastanza difficoltosa perché lo smalto era troppo denso e venivano fuori delle striature. Tempi di asciugatura rapidi, durata un tantino deludente, con l'attenuante di aver passato un'intera giornata in piscina.
Insomma, non sono rimasta soddisfatta ma vabbé, delusione contenuta dal basso costo del prodotto.

I was so looking forward to Snow White Collection by Essence. I like the theme, the range of colors and also the small gadgets (stickers and nail file) contained in this collection. Moreover, that display is sooo cute, it would look soooo nice upon one of my Helmer!
When I found Snow White Collection, the display was already almost empty, but I found anyway a couple of products that were on my wishlist. Between these, Sleepy, the polish of the day.
Well, I was a bit disappointed by this product. Sleepy, in the bottle, looks like a dusty light blue with a nice blue-purple shimmer. This shimmer doesn't translate on the nails, so it appears like a quite plain dusty blue.
Formula is not good, it's streaky and the second coat was quite difficult to apply. It dries fast but longevity is not high, even if it has a mitigating circumstance: I spent an entire day at the swimming pool, maybe in "normal" condition it would last longer.
Well, as I wrote above I am a bit disappointed by this polish... Luckily it is really cheap!
