Stamping time: Pond Manicure

Buona domenica a tutte!
Oggi vi mostro con orgoglio la mia prima pond manicure! Si tratta essenzialmente di una jelly sandwich, ma anziché mettere dei glitter tra uno strato e un altro di uno smalto jelly, ci si piazza un bello stamping! Ovviamente si devono scegliere pattern poco fitti, altrimenti a furia di stampare ci si troverà con un ammasso di design informe anziché un risultato carino e definito.

Riecchice qua con l'ottavo appuntamento con la Finishpedia, dedicato agli smalti jelly.
I jelly sono piuttosto semplici da individuare, sono smalti piuttosto sheer, dalla consistenza appunto jellosa, che asciugano solitamente lucidissimi e lasciano intravedere la linea dell'unghia anche dopo diverse passate.

Appuntamento con un altro colore extra della nostra Rainbow 2.0. Per onorare il mio compito settimanale ho deciso di scegliere uno smalto della Liabel. Ma voi lo sapevate che, oltre a produrre indumenti intimi, fanno anche smalti? Io l'ho scoperto solo pochi mesi fa grazie a Valentina di Nail Polish Army. Dato che mi aveva dato un buon feedback riguardo alla loro qualità, ho deciso di acquistarne uno, approfittando di un'offerta trovata al Bennet. Questi smalti hanno già un prezzo basso (1.99€ per 15 ml) ma io addirittura sono riuscita a pagarlo meno di un euro!!!

Hits Speciallità Melon [Hello Kitty Collection]

Oggi vi mostro uno smalto di cui avevate già avuto un assaggio qualche post fa, in occasione della mia ultima one stroke floreale. Sto parlando dell'Hits Speciallità Melon, facente parte di una delle tante collezioni dedicate dal brand brasiliano a Hello Kitty. Non so se l'avevo già accennato, ma io detesto Hello Kitty. Di un odio ancestrale, immotivato ma profondo. Devo ammettere che l'idea di avere nel mio stash una boccetta di smalto a forma della malefica gattaccia non mi esaltava ma... Beh, quando un colore è bello e costa poco più di 1€... In fondo chisseneimpippa?!?
Il Melon è un bellissimo verde carico dal finish jelly; una volta asciutto appare quindi lucidissimo, tuttavia ci vogliono tre passate (per fortuna facili) per ottenere la coprenza perfetta. I tempi di asciugatura non sono proprio veloci, ma si fa perdonare con la durata, che è veramente buona.
Insomma, per il prezzo che ha ne sono rimasta davvero entusiasta.

Hi ladies and good Saturday!
Today I'm going to show you in detail a nail polish that I've already used for my last floreal one stroke manicure, so you have already had a sort of sneak peek on it. I'm talking about Hits Speciallità Melon, from one of the many collections that the brazilian brand dedicated to Hello Kitty.
First-of-all, I must admit that I hate Hello Kitty. I really, deeply hate her. I can't stand her face and all the gadgets with her image (if you're a fan of her, please forgive me! ç_ç ).
The bottle of this nail polish has the shape of Hello Kitty's face and at that point you can easily imagine that I don't like it (even if I think it is super cute if you're a fan) but honestly... Who cares?!? The colour of this nail polish is absolutely amazing and it was super cheap too (I paid it about 1€). I couldn't resist!!
Anyway, Hits Speciallità Melon is a bright green with a jelly finish; it looks super glossy once dried, but it's a bit sheer (three coats in my pics, but application was super easy). Drying time is not fast, and longevity is quite high.
My final verdict is that I'm enthusiast about this nail polish, expecially if I consider how cheap it was. And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a super nice week-end!

Mish Mash Challenge #11: BOOK [Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell]

Hi ladies!
Ready for another appointment with Mish Mash Challenge?!? The theme of the day is BOOK, and I picked one of my favourite book ever, that's Postmortem Patricia Cornwell. I am a huge fan of Kay Scarpetta, expecially the first books of the series.
In general, I love reading, expecially horror books and thrillers. My favourite writers of these genres are Stepen King and the above mentioned Patricia Cornwell. I also love the Italian Oriana Fallaci, Patrick Dennis, Ken Follett and Sidney Sheldon. I've read four or five times every volume of Harry Potter's saga, both in Italian and in English and, when I was a teenager, I read hundreds times all Christopher Pike's books.
So, back to the nail art of the day: I decided to create a bloody splatter manicure. I used  a white base (Orly Dayglow) and then three different reds: Chanel Rouge Noir (the darkest red, which I used to create the "coagulated blood" effect), Essence So Glamourous (creme red) and Orly Ignite (jelly red).
I'm particularly proud of this nail art, expecially for the objects that I used to create the prop.

Pronte per un altro appuntamento con la Mish Mash Challenge? Il tema del giorno mi piace particolarmente, dal momento che è BOOK e io sono una grande divoratrice di libri. Scegliere a quale ispirarmi è stato facile, dal momento che Postmortem di Patricia Cornwell non è solo un gran libro, ma è anche il primo volume della mia amatissima saga di Kay Scarpetta, l'anatomo-patologa con laurea in legge che dirime anche i casi più complicati (anche se a volte rischia di lasciarci le penne). 
In generale adoro i libri horror e i thriller, a parte la Cornwell adoro anche Stephen King. Tra i miei scrittori preferiti di altri generi cito l'italiana Oriana Fallaci, Patrick Dennis, Ken Follett e Sidney Sheldon. Ho letto almeno 4 o 5 volte ogni volume di Harry Potter e, da adolescente, avevo un'autentica fissazione per le opere di Christopher Pike.
Comunque, per rappresentare Postmortem ho deciso di realizzare una splatter manicure sanguinolenta, usando un bianco (Orly Dayglow) come base e tre diversi rossi: Chanel Rouge Noir (ovviamente il più scuro, usato anche per simulare l'effetto "sangue raggrumato"), Essence So Glamourous (rosso creme) e Orly Ignite (rosso jelly). Ne sono particolarmente fiera, specialmente per come sono uscite le foto con gli "oggetti di scena".

NYX Emerald Forest

Salve ragazze!
Spero che abbiate passato un ottimo week-end. Un post veloce per mostrarvi il NYX Emerald Forest, ricevuto grazie al pacchetto blogger che il brand americano ha inviato ad alcune prima del lancio dello store on line. Insomma, da qualche settimana anche le italiane, le francesi e le spagnole possono comodamente ordinare da casa propria.
Una cosa che ho molto apprezzato è la spedizione gratuita per gli ordini sopra i 40€, una cifra non altissima e facilmente raggiungibile soprattutto se si ordina con una o due amiche.
Invece, auspicherei che siano presto disponibili le Jumbo Eye Pencil, pezzo forte di NYX e prodotto più atteso, così come tutte le linee di smalti (magari con prezzi un filino più bassi!).
Tornando allo smalto del giorno: diciamo che ho avuto una fortuna sfacciata, perché tra i tanti splendidi smalti NYX questo era sicuramente tra i miei preferiti.
Emerald Forest ha base verde jelly con una generosissima quantità di glitter verdi e dorati (e qualcuno turchese). E' uno smalto a dir poco splendido, scenografico, luminosissimo: un vero peccato che il sole non si sia visto quando l'ho indossato, perché mi sarebbe piaciuto un sacco mostrarvelo al massimo del suo splendore. Dà il meglio di sé anche con la luce artificiale che tipicamente ci accompagna durante i mesi invernali.
Tre mani per la coprenza perfetta, asciugatura nella media e ottima durata.
Vi lascio alle mie foto e scappo a nanna, ma ci rileggeremo sicuramente presto, ho in arrivo un post #300 molto sopra le righe!

A few weeks ago NYX has finally arrived also in Italy. To be precise, they recently opened an on line store in Italy, France and Spain.
A few italian bloggers received a super cute package with several goodies to test, and I was lucky enough to have one of those packages.
I'm really, really happy that NYX is finally available in my country, even if prices are a bit higher than I expected and a couple of very interesting items are still missing (i.e. Jumbo Eye Pencils, which are maybe the most famous product by NYX).
I was very lucky because one of the products I received had been in my wishlist for a lot of months: I'm talking about Emerald Forest from their line "NYX Girls".
Emerald Forest has a bright green jelly base and lots of green and gold glitters. It's really an amazing shade, so bright and sparkly, and I'm so sorry that I couldn't take pictures in direct sunlight!
It is stunning even with artificial light.
Three coats in my pics, the jelly base is a bit sheer.
Drying time was quite fast and I was very satisfied with its longevity too.
Well, it's quite late here in Italy and I have to go to bed, but we'll talk very soon. Next post will be #300, so I won't write a review or talk about a product, but it will be an unusual post about me. Stay tuned!

ABC Challenge: L for Layla CE #54 Green Galaxy

Hi ladies!
Today I have another polish from an Italian brand which is known also overseas: Layla CE #54 Green Galaxy.
Green Galaxy has a beautiful dark green base with a jelly finish and very fine green glitters, and two sizes of green hex glitters. It's really a stunning and quite unusual shade!
Formula is really runny, so I recommend very thin coats and/or the use of a rubberized base coat (or a massive clean-up after application!).
Three coats in my pics, it dries quite fast and has a good longevity.
I rarely buy Layla products because they're quite pricey even here in Italy (Ceramic Effects retail for 7.60€), but I think that Green Galaxy deserves its price!
Before leaving, just a couple of notes: I'm a bit uninspired in this period, as I've already wrote I'm having some issues in my real life and I don't think I'll be able to solve them in a next future. I'm really sorry because, during this challenge, I'm simply showing you a series of nail polishes and I haven't created a "real" nail art yet. When I look at the posts of the other lovely partecipating ladies, I feel like an awful blogger. They create stunning nail arts, show unusual polishes and write super nice posts. I simply update a couple of pics, I review the polish of the day and that's all. So: I solemly promise that I will create a nail art for letter M. I already have a nice idea in my mind, I don't know if I'll be able to do a nice job, but I'll try!

Altro appuntamento con la nostra ABC Challenge, e stavolta mi gioco uno splendido smalto Layla, il CE #54 Green Galaxy. 
Green Galaxy ha una base verde scuro dal finish jelly in cui albergano glitter molto sottili di colore verde, più glitter esagonali di due diverse dimensioni del medesimo verde. Lo trovo davvero splendido!
La formula è davvero liquida, per cui consiglio di stendere una base gommosa, che dà maggior grip, oppure di fare passate molto sottili. Nelle mie foto potete vedere il risultato di 3 mani di Green Galaxy.
I tempi di asciugatura sono piuttosto buoni, così come la durata.
Non sono solita acquistare molti Ceramic Effect, penso che 7.60€ non siano proprio pochi per uno smalto (no, non li trovo MAI in sconto), ma nel caso del Green Galaxy, ne vale proprio la pena! E' uno smalto davvero unico.
Prima di salutarvi, una nota veloce: so di essere stata un po' "sòla" durante questa challenge, non ho postato neppure una nail art vera e propria... Mancanza di ispirazione, ahimé. Spero di recuperare con la M, ho in testa un'idea supercarina, sperando ovviamente di fare un buon lavoro e non un pastrocchio terrificante.

ABC Challenge: I for Illamasqua Rampage

Hi ladies
and welcome back to our ABC Challenge! For today's post I picked a nail polish I used a few weeks ago for a glitter gradient: Illamasqua Rampage. I'm really sorry for this, but during last week-end I was very busy - I created two different and time consuming nail arts for the final post of Rainbow Thursdays - and I didn't have the time to paint my nails with a new nail polish, test its quality and take good pics. 
Anyway I think that Rampage is soooo beautiful that it deserves an entire and dedicated post.
Rampage is a dark forest green with a jelly finish. It is an excellent dupe for NARS Zulu, which is more expensive and needs four coats for the perfect coverage. If you decide to wear Rampage, two thin coats and you're ready to go!
Formula is just perfect, it dries fast and has an excellent longevity.
In conclusion: I love this polish, it's a stunning color and has an amazing quality too!

Salve ragazze, e ben ritrovate col consueto appuntamento settimanale con la ABC Challenge.
Per il post del giorno sono andata un po' al riciclo, ho pescato le foto dell'Illamasqua Rampage che avete già visto in azione qualche settimana fa per questa glitter gradient. Nel week-end sono stata super impegnata nel creare due impegnative nail arts per il post conclusivo della Rainbow (ma sono spilorcia e domani ve ne mostrerò solo una) e non ho proprio avuto il tempo di indossare, testare e fotografare un altro smalto.
Comunque Rampage è così bello che si merita davvero un post tutto suo! Si tratta di uno splendido verde foresta dal finish jelly. E' un ottimo dupe del blasonato NARS Zulu che, però, oltre ad essere persino più costoso, necessità di quattro mani per la coprenza perfetta. Col Rampage, 2 mani sottili e via! La formula è perfetta, si applica divinamente, asciuga in fretta e dura davvero a lungo.
Devo specificare che lo adoro?!

The Rainbow Ladies #4: GREEN [Illamasqua Rampage & Sinful Colors Call You Later]

Ed eccoci nuovamente al nostro quarto appuntamento con i giovedì arcobalenosi!
Nell'ottica del "tu is megl che uan" (un Accorsi vecchia maniera docet), oggi mi gioco due bellissimi smalti verdi, assai diversi tra loro, ma che stanno molto bene combinati insieme in una gradient.
L'Illamasqua Rampage, il colore di base, è uno spettacolare verde foresta dal finish jelly, dunque molto luminoso già senza top coat. Coprenza perfetta in due mani sottili, asciuga in fretta e ha davvero una formula ineccepibile, scorre sull'unghia che è un piacere
Il Sinful Colors Call You Later è, invece, un chiassoso glitter dalla base trasparente con particelle glitterose di diverse dimensioni e forme, nonché diversi colori, tutti sulle tonalità del verde (verde chiaro-dorato e verde erba). Credo che stia davvero bene su un verde scuro come il Rampage, sono davvero soddisfatta di questa gradient!
Consigli per gli acquisti: la Sinful Colors è ormai distribuita da qualche mese dalla Revlon, dunque è assai più reperibile di prima (si trovava qualcosa in Coin) ed anche il prezzo è stato abbassato da 4.99€ a 3.70€ (prezzo di listino, ma io li ho trovati scontati anche a 2.98€).
Spero che questa gradient vi sia piaciuta e non dimenticate di buttare un occhio alle creazioni ed alle scelte delle altre signorinelle!

and welcome back to our Rainbow Thusday! For this fourth post I picked two polishes which are very different in terms of finish, but which look very nice together.
Illamasqua Rampage, the base color, is a dark forest green with a jelly finish, so you can easily imagine that it dries super glossy even without a top coat. Two coats in my pics, it dries fast and has an amazing formula.
Sinful Colors Call You Later, the glitter one, has a clear base and differently sized and shaped glitter particles in light golden green and grass green. I think it looks great on a dark green such as Rampage, I'm really happy with this gradient manicure!
I'm also happy that Sinful Colors can be finally easily found also here in Italy. Until a few months ago, it was available only in a few store and was more expensive: 4.99€ for each polish, a lot of money considering the original price (I think Sinful polishes retail for a couple of dollars or even less in the US). Now they are available in a lot of stores and they retail for 3.70€, but can be easily found for a little less (I bought four of them three months ago and I paid 2.98€ each).

Orly Naughty or Nice Collection: swatches and review (I part)

Oggi vi presento la prima parte della collezione Naughty or Nice di Orly.
Visto che oltre ad essere autolesionista, sono anche un po' sadica, riservo i glitters al prossimo post, ma posso garantirvi che anche oggi metterò in pista dei pezzi da novanta!

Hi ladies!
Today I'm going to show you the swatches of the first part of Orly Naughty or Nice Collection.
I will post the glitters in the second part, so for today I have a creme-jelly red, a shimmer red and a holo scattered pink! Let's go!

Unlawful è un rosso con inflessioni rosa dal finish "ibrido": è senz'altro un creme, ma con quel tocco di jelly. Non so voi, ma io adoro questo genere di "resa", così lucida e luminosa che il top coat è più uno sfizio che una necessità.
Pigmentazione medio-buona (due passate generose nelle foto), asciugatura rapida e durata eccellente.

Unlawful is a bright red with a hint of pink. This has a "hybrid" finish: it is certainly a creme but it's so glossy that it also seems a jelly. I love this kind of finish. 
Pigmentation of Unlawful is medium-good (two heavy coats in my pics), drying time is fast and longevity is excellent.

Torrid... Vi viene in mente un colore più natalizio di un bel rosso borgogna con shimmer quasi impercettibile, tanto da renderlo metallico? A me no.
La coprenza è molto buona (due passate sottili nelle foto), l'asciugatura è molto rapida ed anche qui, durata eccellente. Perfetto per una water marble di Natale (ops, spoiler!!!).

Torrid... The perfect shade for Christmas. It is a beautiful red with a super fine shimmer, in the end it almost looks metallic. 
Pigmentation is high (two thin coats in my pics), drying time is fast and longevity is excellent.

Infine. Miss Conduct. Aaaaaaaah, questo smalto lascia senza fiato. In foto è già bellissimo, ma nella vita reale è persino meglio. Un ciclamino carico con finish holo scattered generosissimo. E' come se l'unghia fosse coperta di minuscole luci multicolori. Fantastico, non mi viene in mente altro aggettivo. Due mani nelle foto, asciugatura rapidissima e durata molto buona.
Orly, visto che è Natale e bisogna accontentare i desideri delle bambine buone come me (eeeeeeh?), mi fate degli holo scattered di questo tipo in altri cinque o sei colori???? Grazieeeee!

In the end... Miss Conduct. Wow, I'm speechless... This polish is absolutely gorgeous! It is bright pink with a very generous holo scattered effect. In my pics it looks super nice, but IRL it is much better: it seems that your nails are covered of micro and multicolored lights!
Pigmentation is good (two coats in my pics), it dries fast and it has a good longevity too.
Orly, please: make other colors with this same finish. Please please please! I have been a very good girl during this year, I deserve it!
