Orly Synchro

Ok, io non so come dirvelo...
Lo so, lo so, quando vi ho mostrato Preamp avevo detto che era il mio preferito della Electronica Collection di Orly.
Ma dopo aver indossato Synchro le mie certezze stan vacillando...
Synchro è un duochrome (anzi, multichrome!) che passa attraverso due livelli di rosso (rosso vivo e rosso vino), l'arancio scuro e il blu. Anzi, lo definirei come un rosso su cui sembra sia stato colato uno strato di colla effetto glossy color bluette (ahahahahah! Scusate la risata sguaiata, in realtà è una risata di nervosismo all'idea di come tradurrò in inglese questo concetto...).
Inoltre, è pieno di shimmer sempre blu. Anche in questo caso ho pensato fosse il caso di fare un mini video per mostrarvi come cambia a seconda delle angolazioni, da aggiungere alla solita valangata di foto.
Applicazione ottima, coprenza molto buona (due mani nelle foto), tempi di asciugatura nella media e durata ottima.
E ora come la mettiamo con la leadership tra Synchro e Preamp???? Famo un parimerito e via?!?

I don't know how to confess this...
I know, I know, when I wrote my review about Preamp I said that it was my fav of Electronica Collection...
But after wearing Synchro I'm not sure anymore...
Synchro is a duochrome (or to better say, a multichrome) which can be dark orange, wine red or bright red with strong blue reflects. I love these blue reflects because it seems that a layer of blue glue with glossy finish has been cast on a red polish (I really, really hope that this strange idea has sense). 
Moreover, Synchro is full of blue shimmer. I also took a mini video of this wonderful polish because I wanted to show you how it changes if you move your hand.
Application is great, very good pigmentation (two coats in my pics), drying time is quite fast and also longevity is quite good.
I love, love, love and love it. Sorry, Preamp.

My favourite polish (part III): Kleancolor Holo Chrome

Salve a tutte!
Dopo tre mesi di sostanziale siccità, qui ha piovuto tutto il giorno. A questa improvvisa uggiosità io rispondo con uno smalto scintillante, eclettico e luccicante!
Il Kleancolor Holo Chrome è un bellissimo violetto dallo stupefacente effetto holo glitter. Talmente incredibile che mi spiaceva confinarlo a delle mere foto e vi ho aggiunto in coda al post un piccolo video in cui potete vederlo in azione.
Formula piuttosto densa ma applicazione confortevole, pigmentazione non elevatissima che lo rende adatto anche al layering su smalti magari un po' spenti o smorti o sul classico nero, tempi di asciugatura leggermente superiori alla media ma comunque assolutamente ragionevoli.
Ricordate la mia ricerca del viola definitivo per completare il trittico delle meraviglie con lo Zoya Ivanka e l'Orly Royal Navy?!? Beh, posso considerarla conclusa!

Today it's raining after three months of sun, sun and only hot sun. I'd like to contrast this dull weather with a sparkling, glittering, eclectic polish!
Kleancolor Holo Chrome is a beautiful violet with a stunning holo glitter finish. It's so stunning that I took a video of it so you could admire it in all its breathtakingly beauty.
Formula is quite thick but application is good, it doesn't have a high pigmentation so you could use it also for layerings (on a darkle purple or on a classic creme black). It took a bit to dry completely.
I can say that my research for the definitive purple is over, Holo Chrome is in my personal Hall of Fame, together with Zoya Ivanka and Orly Royal Navy.

I'm back!!! (ft. Shaka Shimmer Orange)

Salve a tutte!
Ebbene sì, son tornata, iniziate a tremare!!! Muahahahahaah! (patetico tentativo di malefica risata)
E torno alla grande con uno smalto che, come direbbero alla Sorbona, spacca il culo ai passeri.
Perché lo Shaka Shimmer Orange è perfezione pura. E per soli 1.99€.
In primis, il colore: è un foil!!! Un foil supereconomico!!!! Oltretutto ha questi riflessi pazzeschi dati dall'abbondanza di particelle foil arancioni, gialle, dorate e rosa che lo rendono anche quasi un duochrome. 
Si applica meravigliosamente, ha una coprenza molto buona (due passate nelle foto) ed asciuga rapidamente.
Durata mostruosa (del club degli Highlander anche lui!), dopo una settimana di docce, mare e marasmi vari era solo vagamente consumato in punta.
Lo adoro, lo adoro, lo adoro fuori misura! Mi hanno persino fermata, in strada e nei negozi, per chiedermi che smalto fosse.
Oltre ad essere stato molto presente sulle mani, è diventato ormai onnipresente sui miei piedazzi rigorosamente bardati nei sandali.
Potessi farlo vi obbligherei all'acquisto, ma posso solo limitarmi a consigliarvelo alla stragrande!

Yeeeees, I'm back, are you scared?!?!?
Today I'm going to show you a wonderful, stunning, gorgeous polish. This polish roooooocks!
Shaka Shimmer Orange is pure perfection. And it is super cheap too (only 1.99€).
Firstly, the color and the finish: it's a foil!!! A cheap foil! This is a dream... Moreover it has multicolor particles in orange, yellow, pink and gold which transform it in a sort of duochrome-foil.
Application is perfect, pigmentation is really good (two coats in my pics) and drying time is super fast.
In the end, it has an incredible longevity (it can be included in the club of Highlanders): after one week of showers, beach and swimming in sea water it only had a minor tip wear.
I really, really, really, REALLY love it. Actually I'm still wearing it on my feet and I'm really proud of it.
I know, Shaka is an italian brand and it is almost impossible to find it outside Italy, but if you're in Italy for any reason you can't skip the purchase of this beauty!

Orly Preamp (and wind of change)

Prima di passare allo smalto del giorno (anzi, della notte fonda considerando che inizio a scrivere questo post alle 2 suonate!!!) vorrei estrinsercarvi un paio delle mie paturnie.
Dicono che una donna, quando cambia qualcosa nei suoi capelli, è perché vuole cambiare qualcosa nella sua vita.
E' chiaro che si tratta solo di un banalissimo cliché.
Da sempre io sono una donna fuori dalle righe e fuori dagli schemi. Ero una bambina di 4 anni e preferivo le macchinine alle Barbie. Seguivo il calcio e la Formula 1 anziché Candy Candy o Kiss Me Licia. In età adolescenziale sono stata io stessa una giocatrice di calcio. Scarsissima, ma giocavo con passione.
Le poche di voi che conoscono quale sia il mio lavoro nella vita reale sanno perfettamente che faccio una cosa tutt'altro che femminile e che molti uomini, anzi, rifuggono spaventati.
Gioco a carte scoperte, prendo tutto di petto, dico le parolacce a chili, in generale sono volgare come un camallo, faccio le gare di rutti (oh sì, fa schifo, ma cuccatevi pure questa, di perla!), odio i bambini con tutto il cuore, mi viene l'orchite se sento parlare di matrimoni tutti pizzi e merletti e bomboniere e pranzi da 28 portate, e tra un pomeriggio di shopping e una partita a biliardino sceglierò sempre quest'ultima.
Insomma, di stereotipato in me c'è davvero poco.
Eppure, ultimamente, sto cadendo sovente negli stereotipi triti e ritriti. O meglio: siamo alla seconda volta in due mesi, che per me è davvero un record. Un inquietante record.
E così, per fare della psicologia spicciola che più spicciola non si può, domani si cambia tutto fuori dalla mia testa, nell'ardente speranza che cambi qualcosa anche dentro.
Vi farò sapere. *paura*

Orbene, se vi state per abbioccare dopo esservi cuccate diverse righe di sproloqui, ho lo smalto adatto per suonarvi la sveglia: Orly Preamp, il mio preferito della nuova collezione Electronica. D'altro canto, dopo tutto 'sto sermone per tenervi attaccate a questo post dovevo spararmi il pezzo da novanta (IMHO, ovviamente!).
Preamp è un bellissimo rosa antico deciso arricchito da pagliuzze (micro flakies) e shimmer tono su tono che diventano dorate in certe angolazioni. Due passate per la coprenza perfetta, formula assolutamente ineccepibile, asciugatura rapida e durata molto buona.
Quando è amore, è amore. *sospiro*
Vi abbraccio, chissà che non torni prestissimo con una foto della mia nuova acconciatura...! (lo so, sembra una minaccia. Ed in effetti lo è!!!)

Before showing the nail polish of the day (well, it'd be better to say the nail polish of the late night, here in Italy it's 2 am) I'd like to share a couple of thoughts with you.
People say that when a woman changes something in her hair, she wants to change something in her life. 
I know, it's a cliché.
I have always been a non-conformist woman. I have always broken all the rules. I have always crossed the lines. When I was 4 I didn't want to play with dolls, I preferred toy cars. I didn't watch cartoons on TV, I preferred football and Formula 1. When I was a teenager I used to play football. Ok, I was probably the worst football player in the entire world, but I loved it.
I have never told which is my work IRL, but I can assure you that it is not a feminine work. On the contrary, women and men are usually scared about it.
I always put all my cards on the table, I face the problem head on, I often use bad or obscene language, I hate kids and I won't never be a mum, I deeply hate weddings in typical italian-style and I don't think I will never get married, and I prefer playing table-soccer than go shopping.
I can say that it's impossible to describe me as a stereotyped woman (at least with italians stereotypes).
But I must admit that it's the second time in a couple of months that I have "fallen" in stereotyped behaviours. So, tomorrow I will change my hair because I want to change something in my life.
I hope, I really hope that something will change.

Well, back to us. Orly Preamp is my fav polish from Electronica Collection. 
It's an intense pink packed with pink and gold micro flakies and shimmer. It takes only two coats for the perfect coverage, it applies super easily and it dries really fast.
Also longevity is very high.
Do I have to write more? That's pure love, ladies.
That's all I have for you today (or tonight?!?), maybe tomorrow I will show you my new hair!!!! (I know, this sounds like a threat. And it is!)

OPI DS Glamour

Buonasera a tutte!
Scusate la ormai inquietantemente usuale latitanza, ma sono in ferie e sto passando più tempo possibile al mare, nel patetico tentativo di prendere un colore diverso dal bianco cadavere.
Oltretutto, la speranza era che lo staccare dal mio lavoro e dalla mia città mi avrebbe aiutata a fare chiarezza e a mettere ordine nel marasma che ho dentro alla testa... Con scarsi risultati. *sospiro*
Comunque, vi anticipo che sarò un po' latitante ancora per qualche giorno, per lo meno fino alla fine delle ferie. Se sarò lenta nel rispondere a emails e commenti od ancora su Facebook e Twitter vi chiedo scusa sin da ora!

Torniamo a questioni smaltifere. L'OPI DS Glamour, tuttavia, non ha certo bisogno di presentazioni.
E' uno degli smalti più conosciuti e desiderati al mondo, tant'è che su E Bay viene venduto a peso d'oro.
E' uno stupendo blu con effetto holo linear davvero stupefacente. Si applica meravigliosamente ed è coprente in due passate. La durata è eccezionale anche senza top coat.
Purtroppo si tratta di una di quelle meraviglie che rende meglio dal vivo che in foto, pur restando incredibile anche se immortalato!
Vi abbraccio forte e spero di tornare prestissimo in piena forma, magari con meno "nebbia" nel cervello!!!!

I'm sorry for my absence from the blog, I know, I'm doing it quite often; actually I'm on holiday and I'm spending a lot of time at the seaside, trying to suntan a bit (ah ah ah! Mission impossible!).
Moreover, I hope that this holiday will help me to solve a personal problem... I need time to clarify my ideas. For the moment, I have failed. *sigh sob*
Anyway, I will be on holiday until next Monday, so I'm not sure that I will be able to post regularly or to reply properly to emails and comments, here or on Facebook or Twitter. I apologize for this!

Back to the nail polish world. OPI DS Glamour is not a nail polish which needs to be introduced. It's one of the most known and desired polish, in fact it is sold on E Bay for crazy prices.
It's a stunning blue with an incredible linear holo effect. It applies easily and it is opaque in two coats. Longevity is high even without a top coat as a "protection".
It looks great in pics, but it is even better IRL!
That's all I have for you today, I hope I will come back soon with better thoughts on my mind and many other beautiful polishes on my nails... It seems impossible to me in this moment, but giving up is out of the question so... I will hang in there!

PBP introduces: Orly Electronica Collection

Oggi vi presento una nuova collezione di Orly, la Electronica, pensata per l'autunno 2012 ma già in vendita in modo da rendere felice chi non ama i colori fluo che stanno dominando ormai da mesi, o per chi semplicemente vuol cambiare range di colori.
L'ispirazione per la Electronica viene dall'ambiente e dall'energia post-industriale, che si traduce in due smalti cremosi dai colori intensi (Decoded e Shockwave), in uno shimmer ricco di mini flakies (Preamp) e in un duochrome shimmer (Synchro).
Non sono una di quelle persone fissate con l'abbinamento dello smalto al trucco o ai vestiti, però mi diverte farlo, complice anche il mio enorme parco cosmetici che ben si confà all'altrettanto imponente parco smalti. Con questa collezione, mi sono divertita a trovare i giusti ombretti o gloss per creare look en pendant!

Today I'm going to introduce the Fall Collection by Orly called Electronica. It is already on sale so, if you're tired of neon shades or you want to wear something different from "usual" summer shades, you have the chance to buy them!
Inspiration for Electronica Collection came from post-industrial environment and energy; Orly has created four different shades: two creme and intense colors (Decoded and Shockwave), a shimmer polish packed with mini flakies (Preamp) and a shimmer duochrome (Synchro).
I'm not one of those person who must combine the color of the polish with make up or clother, but I like to do it, I think it's funny. For this reason, I'd like to introduce this collection by showing you the different polishes combined with eyeshadows or glosses from my make up stash - well, when you have a huge make up collection it's quite easy to do this!!!

Inizio subito con uno dei pezzi forti, Preamp. Nonostante i 468 smalti del mio stash, non credo di avere nulla di simile. Preamp è un rosa antico carico impreziosito da mini flakies tono su tono. Lo vedrei bene con uno dei nuovi ombretti cremosi Astra, nella fattispecie lo 02, che è un rosa assai simile con perlescente dorate appena accennate, oppure con un vecchio ma buono ombretto in polvere duo di Pupa, il Polvere di Luce Glittering, nella variante 01. Il duo è composto da un rosa-violaceo e da un rosa più deciso e vagamente shimmer che dona molta luminosità.

Let's start with Preamp, a shimmer and intense pink packed with pink micro flakies. I love it, I have 468 nail polishes in my stash and I don't have anything similar. I think that it will look great combined with a cream eyeshadow by Astra (an italian, cheap brand), which is pink with slight golden reflects, or with a duo powder eyeshadow by Pupa. The first eyeshadow is pink-violet, the other one is more hot pink and contains shimmers and microglitters. 

Shockwave è un blu intenso ma non particolarmente scuro e con un finish creme. Adoro queste tonalità di blu! Lo vedrei molto bene con un ombretto mono di Kiko, il #29.

Shockwave is a medium blue with a creme finish, I really love this kind of shade! I would combine it with a mono eyeshadow by Kiko, #29.

Ed ancora, Decoded, un grigio scuro sempre dal finish creme. Non essendo un'amante del grigio, forse perché fa a pugni con la mia carnagione, non ho trovato nulla di identico nel mio stash... Ma una combo che potrebbe funzionare molto sarebbe Decoded -  trucco smokey eyes realizzato con due ombretti Lilyox, altro brand italiano che ho scoperto di recente e che mi sta dando molte soddisfazioni! Il grigio-nero con microglitter è il #05, mentre il grigio-azzurrato è il #49.

Then, Decoded, a dark grey with a creme finish. I'm not in love with greys, maybe because they look awful on my skin, so I don't have an identical grey in my stash. But I think that I would combine it with a smokey eyes look realized with two eyeshadows by Lilyox, a cheap italian brand that I really recommend if you are in Italy for your holiday and you want to discover local brands with good quality and small prices. The dark grey with microglitters is #05, the light grey with and hint of super light blue is #49.

Infine, Synchro, forse il più atteso della collezione. Synchro è un duochrome shimmer che varia dal rosa intenso all'arancio-dorato, ma con dettagli blu. Difficile abbinare uno smalto così ricco di variazioni, eh? Ci ho provato con un gloss di Essence della Sun Clu, Summer Cherry, un rosa con inflessioni arancio e dorate.

In the end, Synchro, a shimmer duochrome which changes from intense, deep pink to golden orange, with blue details. It is difficult to combine a polish like this, don't you think? I tried: I'd combine it with a gloss by Essence, Summer Cherry.

Kiko #358 - Pesca

Buonasera a tutte!
Torno anche oggi con uno smalto Kiko, il 358 Pesca.
Innanzitutto, il colore: mmmm, un pesca strano. Decisamente acceso, coralloso, aranciato. Come il 389 Lattementa, a metà tra il pastelloso e il neon che asciuga bello lucido.
Altra similitudine col Lattementa: la formula. Meno antipatica di quella di quest'ultimo, sì, ma comunque gradevole come la sabbia nelle mutande. Troppo densa, troppe strisciate. Peccato.
Pigmentazione decisamente buona, asciugatura rapida, durata media. Tutto sommato, trovo che sia un colore stupendo per l'estate, da utilizzare assolutamente anche sui piedi specialmente se, a differenza mia, non siete strettamente imparentate col fantasmino Casper. (a tal proposito, vi annuncio orgogliona che sabato, in piscina, sono riuscita persino ad ustionarmi le chiappe. Ebbene sì: terga alla coque. Oh, beh.)
Con questa meravigliosa informazione che sicuramente cambierà il modo in cui mi leggete (il vostro Pirlometro starà scoppiando, ne sono certa), vi abbraccio e vi auguro una buona serata!

Here I am with another Kiko polish, #358 Pesca (Peach).
First of all, about the shade: mmm, this is a weird peach! I'd describe it as a bright peach/coral with a hint of orange. Similarly to #389 Lattementa, its finish is between a pastel creme and a neon which dries glossy.
Another (sigh) analogy with Lattementa: the formula. Well, I think that the formula of Peach is a bit better than Lattementa's one but, in any case, it's sooo nasty. Too thick, too streaky. In Italy we'd say "It's pleasant like sand in your panties".
However: pigmentation and longevity are good and drying time is fast.
I think that this is a beautiful shade for the summer, it looks great also on feet, expecially if you are tanned (on the contrary, I am next of kin of Casper the ghost. Last Saturday I went to the swimming pool and I sunburnt my buttocks. I swear!!!).
Ok, that's all I have for you today, I also gave you an extra (and non-desirable) info!!!
