Ciao a tutte!

Twinsie Friday: duochromes! [Models Own Pinky Brown]
Ciao ragazze!
A presto!
Hi ladies!
A super quick post, I'm in a hurry!
The nail polish of the day is Models Own Pinky Brown, from Beetlejuice Collection (2011). Pinky Brown is a stunning reddish/dark pink shimmer with a strong orange/gold duochrome effect.
Two thick coats in my pics, it dries fast and has a good longevity too. Formula is just perfect, application is easy and pleasant. Its only defect is the presence of toluene and formaldehyde resin in its ingredients, so I always apply two coats of base before wearing it.
I think that Pinky Brown is a beautiful polish, and I really hope you like it too! Now I've got to go, I will spend the week-end outside my city, I still have to pack my luggage!
Have a nice week-end and talk to you soon!

Nail art time: let it snow!
Ok, I know that nail arts with snoflakes are usually published during the Xmas period. But here in North Italy the first snow has fallen only three weeks ago, so here it is my first "let it snow" nail art!
It's really super easy, and here it is the list of the products that I used:
First of all I applied the base colour, Eyeko Rain. Then I mixed Dance Fever and Bluebelle in a ratio of 2 to 1 (two drops of Dance Fever and one drop of Bluebelle). Both polishes have a clear base with silver (Misa) and electric blue (Models Own).
I applied this mix on the nails with a sponge. As you can see I put more product on the upper part of my nails.
Only on the ring finger I applied two Essence stickers and then the glitters around them, using a brush #2. Top coat et voilà, super easy but nice nail art finished!
Hope you like it and thank you for reading!

Models Own Mixed Up
Mi sono dunque affidata all'immagine promozionale.
Tanto valeva mettere solo i multicolor.
Hi ladies,
I waited a lot before writing this review. When I made these pics, it was so hot that I took three showers a day.
Why have I waited for so long? Because I don't like writing negative reviews, expecially when I like very much a brand (in this case Models Own) and its products. But I really can't recommend Mixed Up, it's the black sheep of the brand between all Models Own polishes that I own (actually 20 shades!!!).
A short preliminary note: when I ordered Mixed Up, no on line swatches were available for this polish. I watched at the picture of the online shop and I thought it was a creme or jelly black with holo, multicolor glitters.
I was wrong.
Mixed Up has a clear base with a majority of black glitters and multicolor holo glitters. Application is not perfect, but not too difficult. To obtain the opacity of the photos, I made four coats. Four very generous coats. After applying a fast drying top coat, I noticed a shrinkage on my tips.
Drying time is soooooo long. As I wrote above, I applied a fast drying top coat and I waited two hours before going to bed. But the day after, when I woke up, I discovered that the polish has "piled up" on certain points of the nails. I have no idea about its longevity because I removed it the day after application. I NEVER remove a polish after only one day, even if I don't like it. Anyway, longevity of the other Models Own glitters that I own is quite good.
I really can't recommend it, I think I will use it for layerings on black creme polishes. Maybe. If you like this genre of polish, take a look at Deborah Shine Tech 18 or Collistar Nero Lurex, which have a real black base.
That's all I have for you today, have a nice week end!

Models Own Golden Green
If you're a duochrome fan, you can't miss the Beetlejuice collection by Models Own.
Today I'm going to show you Golden Green. At the beginning it seemed to be a dupe of Chanel Péridot, but when the first swatches were published, everyone saw that, in reality, green and not gold is the predominant color of this polish.
Infact, Golden Green is a metallic green with strong gold reflects.
Formula and pigmentation are good (two coats to obtain the perfect opacity) and longevity is exceptional. According to my well-informed polished friends, this incredible longevity is a common characteristic of all polishes from Beetlejuice collection.
Since it stains a bit, I recommend two coats of base before application.
I really love it and I can't wait to show you also Pinky Brown and Emerald Black, that are the other two polishes from Beetlejuice that I actually own.
An add value of this collection: its name. Beetlejuice is one of my most favourite movie ever!

Models Own Tickled Pink
Buonasera ragazze!
Good evening ladies!
Today I have another Models Own polish for you. I wore it approx. two weeks ago, in Italy we still had a very warm weather and I wanted a bright colour.
Infact Tickled Pink is a super bright but not excessive pink, with a crazy silver shimmer. I love its formula, application is easy and it dries fast. You will need two generous coats or three thin coats to obtain a full opacity.
Longevity is really good too, it lasted one week on my nails before chipping. After five days I wanted to change something, so I applied Rimmel Matte Top Coat and it was soooo nice also mattified, I will show you this version soon!
That's all I have for you today, thank you for visiting and reading!

News from Models Own!
Lots of news from Models Own! The English brand is finally releasing a new line of Big3Free polishes, with a wide range of choice (54 shades, wow!). They describe this new formula as a "salon formulation", and unfortunately price has increased to £8!
But I'm really excited for the new Beetlejuice Collection (god, I love that movie!), which will be launched on early November. Every polish will cost £5 as usual, but they're talking about a set containing the entire collection and which will let us the chance to save some pounds.
Can't wait to see the first swatches, they seems to be five beautiful multichrome. And I also see a possible Chanel Péridot dupe too...

Models Own Evergreen
Altro post, altro smalto Models Own!
Another post, another nail polish by Models Own!
I really had a lot of polishes by this brand in my "untrieds" box, they stayed there for almost a year so one month ago I decided that they finally deserved my attention!
A little anticipation: my favourite finish is holo, expecially during summer, so I arbitrarily decided that the next week it will be THE HOLO WEEK, so if you're another "crazy for holo" lady, stay tuned!
So, Models Own Evergreen... It was hard to understand which is the finish of this polish. It is a brilliant clover-green with a shimmer finish, but with a touch of metallic.
It is quite sheer and it took three thin coats to obtain opacity. I like its formula, application is good and it dries quite fast.
It lasted five days on my nails, then I noticed a little tip wear. I removed it because I wanted to change colour more that for real necessity.
As I wrote in my post on Golden Peach (repetita juvant!!!) Models Own polishes are NOT Big3Free, as you may notice from their smell, which is stronger than other brands' polishes.
Anyway, I recommend this polish, expecially now that it is on sale and costs only £2.50!

UK Pigments - Barry M and Models Own
Today I'm going to show you some swatches of my Models Own pigments: since their sale is approaching, maybe you need some inspiration for your wishlist!
Moreover, I added the swatches of the only Barry M pigment I own.

The first pigment I show you is Barry M Fine Glitter Dust #21 - Opal.
Barry M is an english, low cost brand. When the Internet community discovered that it sells a nail polish which is almost a dupe of the ultralimited edition Chanel Jade, it became very famous!
Opal has a black base enriched with lots and ultrafine glitters in bright green. As you can see in the photos, it is not very pigmented if used dry. Moreover, glitters tend to flutter away or they remain "stuck" in the brush. The situation is greatly improved when pigment is used wet (in my case, with home made Fix Plus), but the best thing to do is to use a glitter gel as a base or a primer like Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue.

Models Own in Black&Green Sparkle and in Navy&Gold Sparkle are very similar to Barry M Opal in terms of aspect and performances: they have a dark base (black the first one and navy the second one) and millions of ultrafine glitter. They're not so pigmented if used dry and look much better if used wet. My tips are the same: use a primer or a base for glitters, if you don't want to "lose" all those glitters!

Models Own in Denim Blue is definitely my favourite of the bunch. It is very pigmented even if used dry and in direct sunlight it shows a crazy, gorgeous and multicolour shimmer. It blends very well and it lasts for a lot of hours on your eyelid.

Models Own in Jade Green is another great pigment, it has a good pigmentation if used dry and it has a good longevity. Like Denim Blue, in direct sunlight it shows a gorgeous shimmer and blends well too.

My last tip: if you want to obtain a really strong effect with glitter pigments, use an ad-hoc base as stated above, take a little quantity of pigment with an eye applicator, spray it with Fix Plus and gently dab the colour on your eyelid.

Models Own Summer Sale
A quick post, just to signal the Summer Sale by Models Own.
Help them reach 50000 fans on their Facebook page and get a voucher which will entitle you to 50% off your order!
I must admit I don't like so much this kind of sale, because in theory you have to signal a fan page to all of your friends, your parents, the postman, etc... We are not promoters!!! But, in any case, if you really like their products maybe you can be interested in this sale. Check their Facebook page and wait for their voucher!
