Mish Mash Challenge #15: HOLOGRAPHIC [Perfect #03]
Hi ladies
and welcome back to another appointment with our Mish Mash Challenge. Today's theme is holographic, and I'm going to show you a cheap holo polish from Perfect, that's number H3.
I already swatched and review two holos of this brand (H1 and H5), so you probably know that I love them! They have a good quality and a s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g. linear holo effect. Moreover, they cost around 1.05€ here in Europe.
Perfect H3 is a warm peachy pink which is opaque in just two coats. It dries super fast and has a medium longevity. It is reeeeeeally beautiful! Pure love.

Mish Mash Challenge #14: PINK [Shaka Pink Rock + Essence Party Princess]
Hi ladies!
Today's theme of Mish Mash Challenge is Pink, and I really wanted to create a nail art, but in these last days I'm a bit uninspired: maybe because the weather is horrible - rain, rain, rain and fog, maybe because in this last period I'm suffering of a sort of nail blogging crisis and sometimes I think to give up, but my brain was completely empty.
So I decided to simply show you two pink nail polishes, with two different finishes and from two different brands but associated by their cheap price: Shaka Pink Rock and Essence Party Princess.
When I talk about Shaka, my patriotic feelings raise, because it's, IMO, one of the best brand we have in Italy. It's cheap, it has a nice range of products and has a good (or even excellent) quality.
Shaka Pink Rock is a bright pink with an odd creme finish and a perfect formula. Two easy coats in my pics, it dries fast and with a super glossy aspect and has a good longevity too. I wrote that its finish is odd because, in artificial lights, it shows a sort of slight iridescence, a sort of very subtle shimmer. In natural light, this iridescence completely disappears and, on the nails, it looks like a standard creme polish.
Essence Party Princess is a nice pink with a sheer base and super cute multicolor glitter particles. In my pics, you can see how two thin coats of Party Princess look over Shaka Pink Rock.

Il tema di oggi è il rosa, e io avrei voluto realizzare una nail art a tema, ma in questi ultimi giorni mi sento davvero svuotata e priva di ispirazione. Forse per colpa del tempo - sto davvero facendo la muffa tra pioggia continua e nebbia, forse perché sto attraversando un periodo di stanca dal punto di vista del nail blogging - della serie "mò chiudo baracca e burattini e tanti saluti", ma la mia testa è davvero vuota. Più del solito, intendo (ah ah ah).
In ogni caso, ho deciso di mostrare ben due smalti rosa, dai finish diversi, di due differenti brand, ma accomunati dalla loro pucciosità e dal loro prezzo davvero economico: Shaka Pink Rock e Essence Party Princess.
Quando parlo di Shaka sale in me lo spirito patriottico del tipo "qualcosa di buono a prezzi più che abbordabili ce l'abbiamo anche noi!", perché più provo questo marchio, più ottengo soddisfazione dai suoi prodotti. Pink Rock è un rosa carico dal finish creme e dalla formula impeccabile; due mani nelle mie foto, asciuga in fretta e con un aspetto superlucido e ha anche una buona durata. Una nota curiosa: sotto le luci artificiali mostra una leggera iridescenza, una specie di shimmer molto discreto. Alla luce naturale, questa iridescenza si perde completamente, e appare come un creme standard. Buffo, no?
L'Essence Party Princess, invece, è un delizioso rosa dalla base sheer e dalle particelle glitter multicolore. Nelle mie foto, due mani sottili sopra lo Shaka Pink Rock.

Mish Mash Challenge #13: RAINBOW [Spotted Rainbow]
Hi ladies!
Another nail art for our Mish Mash Challenge, and the theme of the day is Rainbow. When I think at rainbow nails, I immediately feel the need to create a gradient or a water marble manicure.
For this post I decided to start with gradient nails with six different nail polishes (from yellow to hot pink) and then added a super thin coat of OPI Black Spotted to create a sort of "now you see me, now you don't" effect. In the last picture (sorry for the low quality but it was taken with artificial lights) you can see the gradient on its own. Altra nail art per la nostra Mish Mash Challenge, dal tema Rainbow. Quando sento parlare di unghie arcobaleno mi prudono subito le mani dalla voglia di realizzare una gradient o una water marble. Stavolta mi sono orientata verso la gradient, e con ben sei smalti (dal giallo al rosa carico)! Ho poi steso una mano sottilissima di OPI Black Spotted per creare un effetto vedo non vedo. Nella ultima foto la gradient sola soletta, mi spiace per la pessima qualità ma ho fatto le foto con la luce artificiale. Comunque, se volete sapere come realizzo le gradient vi lascio il link del video di un'altra mia nail art, ma che inizia sempre con una gradient arcobaleno come base, e ovviamente anche la lista dei prodotti usati:

Mish Mash Challenge #12: FLOWER [One Stroke + Vintage Daisies Nail Arts]
Hi ladies!
For this appointment of our Mish Mash Challenge I have two nail arts for you!
The first nail art is a one stroke, I made a second attempt with lilies... I'm still not satisfied, at all, but I think it looks much better than my first try. In case you are wondering, I used Hits Speciallità Melon (Hello Kitty Collection) as base colour and a mix of Basic Beauty #71 and #103 to add a touch of sparkle.
The second nail art is much easier to do and even much more goodlooking (in my opinion)! I called it "vintage daisies" because I made this nail art one year and a half ago, I think it's the third nail art I have ever made!!! I used Color Club Foil Me Once as a base colour, Essence In the Jungle (first version) for steams and leaves plus acrylic colours and rhinestones to create the daisies.

La prima nail art è una one stroke, mi sono incaponita con le calle (ma chi me l'ha fatto fà), e anche se è evidente che questo design non fa per me e forse forse è meglio che io lasci perdere (!), sono comunque sensibilmente migliorata rispetto al primo tentativo. Il colore di base è l'Hits Speciallità Melon (Hello Kitty Collection) ed ho poi usato i Basic Beauty #71 e #103 per aggiungere un tocco di luce.
La seconda nail art è assai più semplice da realizzare e anche molto più carina, secondo me! L'ho chiamata "margherite vintage" perché l'ho fatta ben un anno e mezzo fa, credo che sia stata la terza nail art in assoluto che io abbia mai creato. Il colore di base è il Color Club Foil Me Once, poi ho usato l'Essence In the Jungle per i gambi e le foglie e i colori acrilici e alcuni strass per disegnare le margherite.
E anche per oggi è tutto, spero vi sia piaciuto il doppio post e a presto!

Mish Mash Challenge #11: BOOK [Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell]
Hi ladies!
Ready for another appointment with Mish Mash Challenge?!? The theme of the day is BOOK, and I picked one of my favourite book ever, that's Postmortem Patricia Cornwell. I am a huge fan of Kay Scarpetta, expecially the first books of the series.
In general, I love reading, expecially horror books and thrillers. My favourite writers of these genres are Stepen King and the above mentioned Patricia Cornwell. I also love the Italian Oriana Fallaci, Patrick Dennis, Ken Follett and Sidney Sheldon. I've read four or five times every volume of Harry Potter's saga, both in Italian and in English and, when I was a teenager, I read hundreds times all Christopher Pike's books.
So, back to the nail art of the day: I decided to create a bloody splatter manicure. I used a white base (Orly Dayglow) and then three different reds: Chanel Rouge Noir (the darkest red, which I used to create the "coagulated blood" effect), Essence So Glamourous (creme red) and Orly Ignite (jelly red).
I'm particularly proud of this nail art, expecially for the objects that I used to create the prop.

Pronte per un altro appuntamento con la Mish Mash Challenge? Il tema del giorno mi piace particolarmente, dal momento che è BOOK e io sono una grande divoratrice di libri. Scegliere a quale ispirarmi è stato facile, dal momento che Postmortem di Patricia Cornwell non è solo un gran libro, ma è anche il primo volume della mia amatissima saga di Kay Scarpetta, l'anatomo-patologa con laurea in legge che dirime anche i casi più complicati (anche se a volte rischia di lasciarci le penne).
In generale adoro i libri horror e i thriller, a parte la Cornwell adoro anche Stephen King. Tra i miei scrittori preferiti di altri generi cito l'italiana Oriana Fallaci, Patrick Dennis, Ken Follett e Sidney Sheldon. Ho letto almeno 4 o 5 volte ogni volume di Harry Potter e, da adolescente, avevo un'autentica fissazione per le opere di Christopher Pike.
Comunque, per rappresentare Postmortem ho deciso di realizzare una splatter manicure sanguinolenta, usando un bianco (Orly Dayglow) come base e tre diversi rossi: Chanel Rouge Noir (ovviamente il più scuro, usato anche per simulare l'effetto "sangue raggrumato"), Essence So Glamourous (rosso creme) e Orly Ignite (rosso jelly). Ne sono particolarmente fiera, specialmente per come sono uscite le foto con gli "oggetti di scena".

Mish Mash Challenge #10: TRIANGLE [Geometrical Textured Nails]
In Italy we have a very famous and loved singer who is called Renato Zero. Many years ago, he wrote a song called "Triangle"; this song was considered scandalous because, of course, it talks about a "sexy party for three". Anyway, if you're Italian and you hear the word "Triangolo", you immediately start singing this old but super famous song. It's written in our DNA!!! (if you're curious to listen to it, Renato Zero also did an international English version)
Back to us, here it is my proposal for this tenth post of Mish Mash Challenge: geometrical textured nails! Here it is a list of the products I used:

"Il triangolo no, non l'avevo considerato!". Ok, sono abbastanza ovvia, ma secondo me è scritto proprio nel DNA di noi italiani il partire in quarta cantando questa canzone quando sentiamo la parola "triangolo". Triangolo che è proprio il tema di oggi della Mish Mash Challenge.
Per questa sfida ho deciso di creare una nail art geometrica con un tocco in più, ovvero quello dato dal finish sand o textured che dir si voglia. Per questa manicure ho usato:

Back to us, here it is my proposal for this tenth post of Mish Mash Challenge: geometrical textured nails! Here it is a list of the products I used:
- Golden Rose #72 (base colour)
- Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (the red polish)
- Kiko #640 Rosso Papavero (dark orange)
- Kiko #642 Fucsia (obviously the fuchsia one)

"Il triangolo no, non l'avevo considerato!". Ok, sono abbastanza ovvia, ma secondo me è scritto proprio nel DNA di noi italiani il partire in quarta cantando questa canzone quando sentiamo la parola "triangolo". Triangolo che è proprio il tema di oggi della Mish Mash Challenge.
Per questa sfida ho deciso di creare una nail art geometrica con un tocco in più, ovvero quello dato dal finish sand o textured che dir si voglia. Per questa manicure ho usato:
- Golden Rose #72 (colore di base)
- Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (rosso)
- Kiko #640 Rosso Papavero (arancio più scuro)
- Kiko #642 Fucsia (ovviamente il rosa carico)

Mish Mash Challenge #09: BLUE [Hits Speciallità Apolo]
Hi ladies and welcome back to our Mish Mash Challenge!
The theme of the day is blue, and I picked a wonderful nail polish, Hits Speciallità Apolo from No Olimpo Collection (old version). I'd like to wear as many holographic nail polishes as possible before the good weather and the sunny days end! I own this brazilian and exotic beauty thanks to my brother-in-law who sent it to me (with many other goodies) a few months ago.
So... Apolo is a stunning, wonderful, gorgeous, amazing blue with a linear holo effect. I really love the color, this shade is so vibrant, deep and intense! Please note that the rainbow effect is much more visible in real life than in my pics. Application is wonderful and formula is just perfect; two thin coats in my pics, it dries fast and has an excellent longevity too.
Just a small note on No Olimpo Collection 2011: these polishes are NOT Big3Free, so Hits Speciallità decided to make a new line a few months ago with a Big3Free formula. IMHO some shades were better in the older version, and Apolo is among them. Anyway I'm pleased that the brazilian brand met the consumers who pay attention to the ingredients of the nail products.

Il tema del giorno è blu, e tenendo fede alla mia filosofia attuale, ovvero cercare di indossare più smalti holo possibile prima della fine delle belle giornate, ho deciso di indossare Apolo della collezione No Olimpo del brand brasiliano Hits Speciallità, nella vecchia versione (2011). Questa esotica e travolgente bellezza è arrivata a me grazie a mio cognato, che me lo ha spedito qualche mese fa insieme ad una tonnellata di altra roba spettacolare.
Dunque... Apolo è uno splendido, incredibile, favoloso blu dall'effetto holo linear. Trovo che questa sfumatura di blu sia semplicemente stupefacente, così intensa, vibrante e profonda. L'effetto holo, poi, è molto meglio di persona che nelle mie foto. In ogni caso, l'applicazione è semplicissima e scorrevole, la pigmentazione è molto buona (due mani sottili nelle foto), asciuga in fretta e ha eccellente durata.
Una piccola nota sulla collezione No Olimpo del 2011: questi smalti non sono Big3Free, per cui Hits Speciallità ha deciso di riformularli completamente qualche mese fa. Nella mia modesta opinione molti colori erano meglio nella vecchia versione, e Apolo è uno di questi. Tuttavia sono molto contenta che il marchio brasiliano abbia deciso di andare incontro alle richieste delle consumatrici più attente all'INCI.

Mish Mash Challenge #08: COLD [Snow Gradient]
Hi ladies!
Last year, at mid-September, it was hot and sunny. But these days have been cold and rainy... I'm not happy with this and I can't accept that summer is already over, but at least the weather is appropriate to the Mish Mash theme of the day, cold.
I decided to do a simple gradient which reminds a bit snow and ice; moreover I used two nail polishes from an Essence TE of the last winter which was called Snow Jam.
The white polish is Top of the Ice-Stream and it has a white jelly base with a subtle light blue shimmer; on the tips I used Goofy-Blue, a periwinkle with small glass flecks. I also applied some rhinestones to add a touch of extra sparkle.
This manicure perfectly matches with my Replay shoes with high wheels and a gradient effect, so I have an extra pic for you at the end of the post!

Lo scorso anno, a metà settembre, si crepava ancora di caldo. Quest'anno siamo già stati avvolti dal freddo e dalla pioggia... Pur non potendo accettare la fine dell'estate, almeno il clima si addice bene al tema odierno della Mish Mash, che è proprio cold, freddo.
Ho deciso di fare una bella gradient che ricordasse i colori di ghiaccio e neve, e in più ho usato due smalti di una collezione invernale della Essence, la Snow Jam.
Lo smalto bianco si chiama Top of the Ice-Stream e ha base bianca lattiginosa e jelly con un leggero shimmer azzurro; per creare l'effetto gradient ho poi abbinato il Goofy-Blue, un color pervinca con piccoli glass flecks. Infine, ho aggiunto qualche strass per dare un tocco di luce in più.
Questa manicure sta benissimo con le mie scarpe Replay con rigoroso tacco a strapiombo e anch'esse con effetto gradient, foto extra alla fine del post!
E anche per oggi è tutto, un abbraccio e a presto!
