Sono certa che ricorderete lo sparaflesciosissimo Color Club East Austin. Dal momento che adoro l'accostamento neon-stamping, e in particolar modo corallo-nero, ho deciso di improvvisare una velocissima nail art.

Anche se qui freddo e pioggia non accennano a mollare, io sento forte la voglia di colori carichi e forti. E cosa ci può essere di meglio di un bel neon sparaflescioso?

Color Club Warming Trend

Buonaseeeeeera a tutte e ben ritrovate dopo (di nuovo!) tanto tempo.
Per la mia ennesima rentrée ho optato per un grande classico, ovvero il Color Club Warming Trend. Il Warming Trend si colloca in quella particolare classe di rossi (stile China Glaze Thunderbird) che a me piace molto: non è né troppo scuro né troppo chiaro e ha quel finish a metà strada tra il metallic frost e lo shimmer che ne fanno un perfetto smalto per il periodo natalizio (e non solo).

Ci sono giorni in cui una nail blogger non ha proprio fame, ma più voglia di qualcosa di holo.
Se siete spianate come me, coi cassetti dell'Helmer che strabordano di meraviglie che sembrano urlarti "Scegli me, scegli me!", la scelta può essere imbarazzante (eh sì, i veri problemi della vita!).
Qualche giorno fa l'holo che ha urlato più di tutti è stato il Color Club Eternal Beauty, per cui eccovelo qua.

Tenth appointment with GOT Challenge! I'm still a bit uninspired so I decided to show a simple swatch of a nail polish that I bought exactly one year ago during Cosmoprof 2013, that's Color Club Gift of Sparkle.

Mish Mash Challenge #12: FLOWER [One Stroke + Vintage Daisies Nail Arts]

Hi ladies!
For this appointment of our Mish Mash Challenge I have two nail arts for you!
The first nail art is a one stroke, I made a second attempt with lilies... I'm still not satisfied, at all, but I think it looks much better than my first try. In case you are wondering, I used Hits Speciallità Melon (Hello Kitty Collection) as base colour and a mix of Basic Beauty #71 and #103 to add a touch of sparkle.
The second nail art is much easier to do and even much more goodlooking (in my opinion)! I called it "vintage daisies" because I made this nail art one year and a half ago, I think it's the third nail art I have ever made!!! I used Color Club Foil Me Once as a base colour, Essence In the Jungle (first version) for steams and leaves plus acrylic colours and rhinestones to create the daisies.

Oggi piatto ricco, ho due nail art per voi per il tema flower della Mish Mash.
La prima nail art è una one stroke, mi sono incaponita con le calle (ma chi me l'ha fatto fà), e anche se è evidente che questo design non fa per me e forse forse è meglio che io lasci perdere (!), sono comunque sensibilmente migliorata rispetto al primo tentativo. Il colore di base è l'Hits Speciallità Melon (Hello Kitty Collection) ed ho poi usato i Basic Beauty #71 e #103 per aggiungere un tocco di luce.
La seconda nail art è assai più semplice da realizzare e anche molto più carina, secondo me! L'ho chiamata "margherite vintage" perché l'ho fatta ben un anno e mezzo fa, credo che sia stata la terza nail art in assoluto che io abbia mai creato. Il colore di base è il Color Club Foil Me Once, poi ho usato l'Essence In the Jungle per i gambi e le foglie e i colori acrilici e alcuni strass per disegnare le margherite. 
E anche per oggi è tutto, spero vi sia piaciuto il doppio post e a presto!

Holothon #02: Color Club Cosmic Fate

Ragazze mie, aprite bene gli occhi, perché oggi vi mostro uno degli smalti più spettacolari mai creati.
Color Club Cosmic Fate, della collezione Halo Hues 2013, è un corallo con un effetto holo linear così mozzafiato che trovo difficile rendergli giustizia con le parole. Persino io, Miss Logorrea!
Ma ammiratelo voi stesse: avete mai visto una cosa del genere? Io no. E parlo dall'alto della mia passione folle per gli holo, che fa sì che ne abbia a decine del mio stash.
Cosmic Fate si stende meravigliosamente anche senza base apposita, è coprente in due passate, asciuga rapidamente, e anche senza top coat ha una durata più che degna, nettamente superiore alla media degli olografici.
Perfezione pura. Non credo sia necessario aggiungere altro, vi lascio alla abnorme quantità di foto che ho scattato e vado a curiosare le scelte delle altre ragazze della Holothon!

Ladies, open your eyes: today I'm going to show you one of the most stunning polishes I've ever seen in my life.
Color Club Cosmic Fate, from Halo Hues 2013 Collection, is a beautiful coral with a fantastic, amazing, gorgeous holo linear effect.
Look at it: have you ever seen something similar? I have 60 or 70 holo linear polishes in my stash, and I don't have anything like it. 
Application is super easy, you don't need a aqua or rubberized base coat. Two coats for the perfect coverage. Of course, drying time is super fast and longevity is good too.
I don't know what to add, this polish is pure perfection. My pics will talk for me!

ABC Challenge: T for Color Club Tangerine Scream

Hi ladies!
Oh my God, I can't believe we are already to letter T!
Anyway, I'm sooooo happy that here in North Italy the weather is a bit better and I finally can wear a neon polish.
Today I'm going to show you Color Club Tangerine Scream, a stunning orange neon shade from Electro Candy Collection for Summer 2009.
Tangerine Scream also has a gorgeous and unusual (for a neon polish) light shimmer. It dries matte so I applied a top coat for my pics. I did three coats of product for every nail, except for my ring finger where I used one coat of Orly Dayglow and two coats of Tangerine Scream.
This polish is a bit on the sheer side, after three coats my nail line was still a bit visible. But I don't mind, its formula is absolutely perfect, it applies easily and evenly. It also dries quite fast and has a good longevity.

Mi sembra incredibile di essere già arrivate alla lettera T. Finalmente questa primavera avara di sole ha deciso di concederci qualche giorno di tepore, e ovviamente io mi sono precipitata ad indossare uno smalto neon che non vedevo l'ora di mostrarvi, il Color Club Tangerine Scream (collezione estate 2009 Electro Candy).
Tangerine Scream è un arancio abbagliante con la particolarità di essere anche shimmer. Come tutti i neon asciuga con un finish satin-matte, per cui ho applicato un top coat per le foto. Tre passate per ogni unghia, fuorché sull'anulare, dove ho layerizzato due mani di Tangerine Scream sopra una di Orly Dayglow. Insomma, avrete capito che è un tantinello sheer (controluce si può "apprezzare" la linea dell'unghia laddove non c'è la base bianca). Compensa con una formula fantastica, a dir poco perfetta, un'asciugatura rapida e una durata molto buona.
E anche per oggi è tutto, a presto e buona serata!

Twinsie Friday: duochromes! [Color Club Alias]

Grazie a Odino è venerdì!
Sono stanca e demotivata professionalmente, umanamente, epidermicamente, ma carichissima a livello di progetti per il blog da sbrigare nel week-end, quindi iniziamo subito col duochrome della settimana!
Color Club Alias, recente acquisto del Cosmoprof, è uno smalto a dir poco complesso: multichrome, con particelle glass feck e pure shimmer! Il colore predominante è viola, ma ha anche flesh verdi e dorati, mentre lo shimmer aggiunge un tocco di rosa e blu. Ingrandire le foto per credere!
Formula ed applicazione perfette, pigmentazione non elevatissima (due passate ma molto corpose nelle mie foto) ed asciugatura davvero rapida. Ottima anche la durata.
Rispetto al Fantasy Fire e l'Unconventional, i multichrome che vi ho mostrato in precedenza, i cambiamenti di colore sono meno drastici ma di certo non meno affascinanti.

and thanks Odin it's Friday! I'm really exausted, sick and tired from a personal and professional point of view, but I have a lot of mini projects to do during the w-e for my blog, so let's go! Today I'm going to show you the duochrome polish of the week.
Color Club Alias, a recent purchase (I bought it during Cosmoprof Worldwide), is a very complex nail polish: it is multichrome, it is glass fleck, but it also has shimmer! Its color changes from purple (predominant) to green to gold, shimmer is pink and blue.
Formula and application were just perfect, pigmentation is not to high (two very generous coats in my pics) but it dries super fast. It has an excellent longevity too.
Alias has not those dramatic color changes that Fantasy Fire or Unconventional have, but I think it's a beautiful and fascinating shade.

[Haul] Cosmoprof Worldwide 2013: the edge of reason [second part]

Sebbene un po' in ritardo, ecco a voi i miei acquisti al Cosmoprof 2013. Avrei dovuto pubblicare questo post ieri, ma ho procrastinato per un ottimo motivo... La creazione del mio primo brownie! Non indulgerò nella falsa modestia e andrò dritta al punto: è venuto una favola (grazie Eleonora per avermi suggerito un'ottima ricetta).
Chiusa questa parentesi culinaria, torno in topic ed inizio a mostrarvi il mio bottino. Ne approfitto per chiedere scusa in particolare a Piola di questo ritardo, non scordatevi di curiosare anche tra i suoi acquisti!

I'm a bit late but I'm ready to show you my purchases at Cosmoprof 2013. I had to publish this post yesterday but I didn't have the time because I decided to prepare and cook my first brownie... It is absolutely delicious, I'm so happy about the result (special thanks to my friend Eleonora who suggested me a fantastic recipe).
Sorry for this off topic but I'm so proud and I wanted to share my satisfaction with you. Well, now I'm ready to show you my new babies! Hope that Piola, my partner in crime, will forgive me for this late post; she already published her haul post, don't forget to check her blog!

ABC Challenge: Y for Color Club Youthquake [and Merry Xmas!]

Cosa c'è di più deviante di pubblicare, la vigilia di Natale, uno smalto NEON? Quindi ecco la mia proposta per un Natale smaltifero alternativo: Color Club Youthquake.
Uno smalto molto particolare, in realtà: in boccetta è rosa neon. Ma se lo andate ad applicare da solo, apparirà come un arancio-corallo. E faticherete non poco, perché messo da solo ci vogliono quattro mani per avere la coprenza (che non sarà neppure perfetta).
Se layerizzato sopra un bianco, invece, vi si mostrerà in tutto il suo splendore di rosa evidenziatore (tié, beccateve pure la rima).
Nelle mie foto, su indice e medio ci sono quattro mani di Youthquake solo soletto, su anulare e mignolo ci sono due passate sopra una mano di Orly Dayglow. Per fortuna la formula è fantastica, si applica con semplicità estrema, così il lavoro extra non sarà eccessivamente gravoso. L'asciugatura non è rapidissima, complici le numerose mani da stendere, e la durata è molto buona.
Scappo letteralmente, ho fatto tardissimo e devo prepararmi per il cenone della Vigilia, e ne approfitto per augurare a tutte voi un FAVOLOSO NATALE! Abbraccio voi e le vostre famiglie e... A presto!


This is an "alternative" post. You know, it's quite odd to wear a neon polish during the winter. 
It's even odder to show a neon polish on Christmas Eve. Anyway, this was my pick for letter Y: Color Club Youthquake.
It's a very particular color: in the bottle it looks like a neon pink. But if you wear it alone, it will look like a neon orange-coral. If you apply it over a white base, it will appear like a neon pink. Quite strange, don't you think? 
You can see this difference on my nails: on the index and on the middle there are four (yes, FOUR) coats of Youthquake. On the ring and on the pinkie there are two coats of Youthquake over one coat of Orly Dayglow. 
Its formula is great, which is a good thing, considering that you have to do many coats of this polish. Drying time is a bit longer than usual and longevity is quite good. 
Well, that's all I have for you today, I have to hurry up because I'm late for my Christmas Eve dinner. But before to go, I want to wish to all of you a great Christmas. Best wishes and many hugs from Italy!

ABC Challenge: W for Watercolor Nails

-4. Ebbene sì, siam quasi giunte alla fine della nostra maratona. Tristi? Felici? Francamente ve ne infischiate?
Qualunque sia la vostra risposta, oggi vi cuccate la nostra W, che io ho deciso di destinare ad una nail art. Ma perché fare una rodata water marble? Meglio sperimentare, no? Per cui, eccovi la mia prima Watercolor Nail Art.
Per realizzarla è necessario quello che, normalmente, è il nemico numero uno dello smalto: ovvero, l'acetone.
Ho iniziato stendendo due mani di Orly Dayglow; ho poi applicato un top coat, cosa che reputo importantissima: sulle unghie finte avevo fatto delle prove senza ed il risultato è che viene fuori un paciugo pazzesco. Il top coat, invece, costituisce un ulteriore film protettivo della base bianca che deve rimanere inalterata, perché tutto il marasma "impressionista" deve avvenire sopra ad essa.
Dopodiché ho ho iniziato ad applicare il primo colore scelto per il decoro: applicate due o tre piccole goccine di ogni smalto, e poi picchiettatelo su tutta l'unghia, creando il decoro a voi più confacente, con un pennello intinto nell'acetone. Questo processo va ripetuto con ogni smalto prescelto, avendo cura di pulire bene il pennello in particolare quando si cambia "drasticamente" tonalità.
Io ho seguito quest'ordine: Color Club Youthquake (fuchsia neon), Tangerine Scream (arancio neon), Orly Glowstick (giallo neon) e Catrice Blue Cara Ciao (azzurro intenso).
I consigli che vi posso dare, oltre a quello di proteggere la base bianca con un top coat, sono questi: scegliete l'acetone puro - il solvente contiene aromi e fragranze che possono interferire, inoltre l'acetone lavora più in fretta; utilizzate un pennello con setole morbide e punta stondata, orientandovi tra quelli di dimensione compresa tra il 4 e il 6 (a seconda della dimensione della vostra unghia); lasciate per ultimo il colore che più si differenzia dagli altri a livello cromatico, in questo caso il blu; usate smalti pigmentati, giocoforza sbiadiranno molto a contatto con l'acetone.

-4. Our marathon is going to end soon. Are you sad for this? Are you happy? Or maybe you don't care at all...!
Well, today I show you my letter W, and I picked another nail art. You probably remember that I love water marbles, I think I'm quite good with that technique, but I wanted to change and experiment another kind of nail art: watercolor nails.
The "secret" ingredient of this nail art is acetone, which is usually the #1 enemy of nail polish.
I started painting my nails with two coats of Orly Dayglow and applying a top coat over it; I think this is a very important step: before realizing this nail art on my nails, I did a couple of tests on fake nails without applying a top coat and the result was very messy. The top coat will protect your base and you will be able to create your "impressionist" effect only on the surface of your nails.
Then I applied three tiny drops of the first polish I picked for the design and I dipped my brush in the acetone, and then start spreading the blobs of color. I did the same with all the other colors I chose.
Pay attention to clean your brush when you change color.
In this case, I applied the nail polishes in this order: Color Club Youthquake (neon fuchsia), Tangerine Scream (neon orange), Orly Glowstick (neon yellow) and Catrice Blue Cara Ciao (intense blue).
Just a few tips: use pure acetone, and not a nail polish remover - this can contain parfums or other ingredients that can interfer, moreover acetone works faster; choose a brush with round and soft bristles - mine was too hard and it was a nightmare!; just to give you an idea of the size of the brush, choose between #4 and #6, depending on the shape and lenght of your nails; the strongest color (here Catrice Blue Cara Ciao) should be the last to be applied; choose pigmented polishes, since the acetone will strongly fade their color.

Post programmato, sono momentaneamente fuori città (Bologna, per la precisione) per cui ci metterò un po' a rispondere ai commenti.
Questa settimana è stata insanamente intensa. Sono veramente a pezzi e persino con poca voglia di girovagare e shoppingare in una città con negozi assai più interessanti di quelli che vedo di solito.
Vorrei solo rannicchiarmi in posizione fetale e dormireeeeee!
Per oggi ho preparato una comparison a tre tra il Color Club Magic Elf, il Basic Beauty #103 e l'Ever #52.

I've had a tiring and super busy week. I'm exhausted. I'd sleep for an entire day... 
Anyway, back to us: today I have a polish war for you. The protagonists are three nail polishes, and two of them are by Italian brands: Color Club Magic Elf, Basic Beauty #103 and Ever #52.

Come avrete notato voi stesse, questi smalti sono assai simili tra di loro. Il più diverso è il Color Club, che ha nel verde della base un tocco di acido; inoltre, non lo definirei un foil, ma un shimmer con tonnellate e tonnellate di particelle tono su tono e dorate.


As you can see, these polishes are really, really similar. Color Club is the most different: the green of the base has a touch of acid and I won't define it as a foil; it is more a super, super, super shimmered polish.

Il Basic Beauty e l'Ever sono praticamente dupe. Ok, ad un'osservazione più che attenta, anzi direi maniacale, l'Ever ha qualche particella dorata in più, ma è quasi impossibile notare la differenza.

Basic Beauty #103 and Ever #52 are definitely dupe. Ok, if you look very carefully Ever has a bit more of gold particles in it, but it's almost impossible to see the difference.

In conclusione, direi che se possedete uno di questi smalti potete anche saltare gli altri due.
Il fatto che a livello qualitativo siano, nuovamente, sostanzialmente identici tra di loro, non aiuta a consigliarne uno su tutti!
Inoltre, aggiungerei che il Basic Beauty è un dupe perfetto anche dello Zoya Apple, che è una gran notizia considerato quanto è difficile reperire gli Zoya da noi (e quanto costano, poi!).

In conclusion, I think that if you have one of these polishes you can skip the other two.
These polishes are extremely similar also in terms of pigmentation and longevity, so I really don't know which one to suggest.
Moreover, Basic Beauty #103 is a dupe also for Zoya Apple, which is a good news expecially for Italian ladies!

Color Club Wild and Willing (and an incoming surprise)

Ciao a tutte!
Torno con uno smalto strafigo: il Color Club Wild and Willing.
E' un multichrome shimmer fa-vo-lo-so bronzo-dorato con forti inflessioni rosa e qualche punto luce sul verde. Tre passate nelle foto, stesura fantastica, asciugatura impressionante da tanto è veloce.
Anche la durata è ineccepibile.
Insomma, lo etichetto come "vecchietto" (fa parte della Wild at Heart del 2009) ma ottimo!

Riguardo invece alla sorpresa, con qualche amicicia bloggara abbiamo preparato un piccolo progetto che partirà tra pochissimi giorni... Non dico altro, ma vi anticipo l'unofficial banner (quello ufficiale, figo da pazzi, mica come 'sta scemenza qua sotto, lo vedrete il 1 ottobre!).

The polish of the day is sooo stunning.
Color Club Wild and Willing is a fabulous multichrome; it is mainly bronze-gold with a hint of pink and some green shimmer. Three coats in my pics, formula is great and drying time is very fast.
Longevity is exceptional too.
An old (it belongs to Wild at Heart Collection, which was launched in 2009) but gorgeous polish!
