Illamasqua Poke

Salve a tutte!
Oggi vi presento il mio primissimo (insieme a Rare) smalto Illamasqua, il Poke.
Poke è un viola davvero luminosissimo arricchito da un generoso shimmer fuchsia e blu. Questo shimmer è talmente ricco che è stato un problema catturarlo in foto, nella vita reale "illumina" molto di più!
La formula è grandiosa: come per Nomad, né troppo densa né troppo liquida. Due passate e la coprenza è servita.
Tempi di asciugatura rapidi e durata ottima.
Sono davvero contenta di questo acquisto, decisamente soldi ben spesi!

Illamasqua Poke was the first polish of the brand that I bought - I ordered it a few months ago together with the stunning Rare. 
Poke is a bright and super vibrant purple with a generous fuchsia and blue shimmer. This shimmer really "lights up" the base color and is even more gorgeous IRL!
Formula is great: not too thick and not too thin. It took two coats to obtain the perfect opacity and it dries fast. Moreover, the longevity is great.
I'm really happy with this purchase, this polish really is good value for money!

OPI Black Spotted available on Sephora.fr!

Avete già visto le foto del nuovo smalto OPI Black Spotted? No?
Vi consiglio allora di dare un'occhiata ai bellissimi swatches di Nailderella!
Nei giorni scorsi noi nail addicted avevamo attivato i servizi segreti, il KGB, l'Interpol per saperne di più su questo spettacolare effetto.
Mentre tutto taceva dal distributore italiano (ho chiesto circa l'eventuale, futura disponibilità nel nostro Paese senza ricevere risposta), le bloggers d'Oltralpe ci informavano che sarebbe stata un'esclusiva per Sephora Francia e sarebbe stato parte della The Amazing Spiderman Collection. E' dunque scattata la monitorizzazione selvaggia del sito e... TA DAAAAN!
Oggi l'ho trovato. E ordinato. Vabbé, ne ho ordinati sei, due per me ed altri quattro per le mie amiche di smalto!
Sono incerta sul destino del mio backup, l'intenzione è di usarlo per qualche swaps... Chissà!
Cosa ne pensate sul Black Spotted? Vi piace o proprio nonvenepofregademeno???

IMPORTANTE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oggi è arrivato il mio ordine. Gli smalti erano stati inseriti in uno dei loro sacchetti di carta SENZA NESSUN IMBALLAGGIO O PROTEZIONE. Il risultato lo vedete sotto. E' tutto distrutto. Evidentemente i 15.90€ di spese di spedizione che ti fan pagare sono troppo pochi per pretendere uno sputo di pluriball.

Ho scritto sulla loro pagina Facebook, ho scritto tramite il loro form, e solo dopo molte ore mi han risposto che mi avrebbero contattata lunedì, nonostante il loro servizio clienti sia attivo anche fino alle 20 di sabato. Non sono la sola ad aver avuto questo problema, a quanto pare la loro modalità di spedizione NON prevede imballaggio. 

Finché non avrò capito come intendono risolvere il problema, e SE lo intendono risolvere, non posso che SCONSIGLIARE CALDAMENTE l'acquisto dal sito.

I'm sure that you have already seen the pics of OPI Black Spotted.
It is a very unusual effect that has recently been launched as a part of The Amazing Spiderman Collection. But it seems to be an exclusive for Sephora France (I asked to the Italian distributor but I never received an answer, so I don't know that to say about the distribution in my Country).
I decided to check every day Sephora.fr website and today I finally found it!
I have already ordered six (yes, SIX) bottles: two for me and four for other nail-friends! I don't know that to do with my backup bottle, I suppose I will use it for a swap in the future but, who knows?!
What do you think about Black Spotted? Yay or nay?

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!
Today I received my order. The nail polishes were put in a Sephora paper bag with NO WRAPPING, NO PROTECTION, NOTHING. You can see the results in my pics. Everything is destroyed. I paid 15.90€ of shipping and handling costs from France to Italy and I even didn't deserve a bit of pluriball or similar.

I contacted Sephora via their website form, I wrote on their FB wall and, after many hours, they wrote me that they will contact me on Monday, even if their Customer Care works on Saturdays. I'm not the only one who have had this problem, I saw a pic from an English lady and her stuff are even in worse conditions than mine. 

For this reason, I don't personally recommend to buy from them FOR THE MOMENT. I hope they will fix the problem ASAP.

Orly Melt Your Popsicle

Buonasera a tutte!
Quarto appuntamento con la collezione estiva di Orly, la Feel the Vibe.
Stavolta è il turno dello stupefacente Melt Your Popsicle, un arancio evidenziatore che di certo non passa inosservato.
Analogamente al Beach Cruiser, cogliere la luminosità di questo colore è davvero impossibile! Ciò che mi dispiace maggiormente è che nelle foto alla luce solare diretta si è persa la differenza col Dayglow applicato come base.
Su indice e medio, infatti, ho messo tre mani di Melt Your Popsicle, mentre su anulare e mignolo una mano di Dayglow e due di Melt Your Popsicle. Preferisco questa seconda versione: la coprenza è più netta, il colore è leggermente più chiaro e persino più neon!
Se non avete il Dayglow, provate con uno dei vostri smalti bianchi, purché assicuri una buona coprenza già con una sola passata.
I tempi di asciugatura sono stati assai rapidi e la durata davvero ottima (anche questo si candida al titolo di Highlander!).
Questi colori neon e così estivi sono, per me, talmente irresistibili che ho deciso di combinarli insieme con una gradient, quindi se volete vedere cosa ho combinato rimanete sintonizzate!

Fourth nail polish from Orly Feel the Vibe Collection: Melt Your Popsicle.
This is a perfect highlighter neon orange and, similarly to Beach Cruiser, it is almost impossible to photograph. IRL it is a bit lighter and even brighter!
I'm sorry because, in the pics I took in direct sunlight, it is almost impossible to see the "experiment" I did with Dayglow as a base: on the index and middle fingers I applied three coats of Melt Your Popsicle, on the ring and pinkie fingers I applied one coat of Dayglow and two coats of Melt Your Popsicle. I prefer this second version because the coverage is better, the color is a bit lighter and the neon effect even stronger!
If you don't have Dayglow, you can use any white polish which assures a good coverage with one coat.
Drying time is fast and longevity is great (this polish is a highlander too!).
I'm really in love with these neon, bright and summer shades; infact I decided to combine two of them in a gradient manicure that I will show you ASAP!

Nail art time: from Kiko 333 to Orly Beach Cruiser [gradient]

Buonasera a tutte!
Ultimamente dilaga la gradient mania e mi sono lasciata contagiare assai volentieri!
Armata di due smalti, Orly Beach Cruiser e Kiko 333, nonché spugnetta, ho dunque realizzato la gradient di cui sotto.
Spero vi piaccia!
Prima di lasciarvi alle foto, due piccole note: chi di voi è nail o beauty blogger sa benissimo che la macro è una grandissima meretrice e tira fuori dei difetti che ad occhio nudo non sono visibili. Li crea dal nulla! Dal vivo il risultato era ben più omogeneo! Ma vabbé, io non uso programmi di fotoritocco anche un po' per principio, quindi ve la cuccate al naturale!!!
Ultima nota: ho usato una comune spugnetta da fondotinta ma non ripeterò l'esperienza in futuro. Probabilmente la trama era troppo fitta e, inoltre, si "beveva" lo smalto in modo allucinante, lasciandone ben poco per la "tamponatura". Meglio quelle scrause da doccia o per lavare i piatti!
Bene, ora chiudo davvero, la gradient mi piace davvero molto come tecnica e non escludo affatto di mostrarvene altre in futuro!

In the last months we have seen a lot of gradient manicures... I have been infected by the gradient mania so here it is my first attempt!
I used Orly Beach Cruiser, a neon pink that I swatched here, and Kiko 333, a purple creme.

Just a couple of notes: beauty and nail bloggers know that macro, sometimes, can be your biggest enemy. Sometimes I look at my manicure and it looks great and perfect; I take my pictures and when I watch them on my laptop I discover a lot of defects that were absolutely invisible with the naked eye! The gradient effect was much more smooth IRL. Grrrrrr! 
A final note: the sponge I used was a regular foundation sponge by ELF. I won't use it anymore because the weave was too tight. It seemed that it drank the polish instead of transferring the color on my nails!!!
I will try other kind of sponge in the future!

Illamasqua Nomad (and an extra pic!)

Ciao a tutte e scusate per la latitanza!
Ma riparto alla grande con uno smalto che è davvero perfezione pura: l'Illamasqua Nomad.
Appartenente alla recente collezione Human Fundamentalism, Nomad è uno splendido verde giada pastello. La formula è densa quel tanto che basta a renderlo praticamente un one coater che, però, riempie bene le piccole imperfezioni dell'unghia.
L'applicazione è agevole ma se, analogamente a quanto accaduto a me sulla mano destra, doveste pasticciare un po', non preoccupatevi: è uno di quegli smalti che si livella già da solo.
Una volta asciutto (in breve tempo) mostra un finish davvero lucido. Infine, la durata: davvero ottima.
Insomma, riponevo grosse aspettative in questo prodotto (appena visto nelle press releases sono rimasta colpita al cuore dalla bellezza del colore), che sono state ampiamente ripagate.
Per oggi è tutto, ma vi lascio con una foto extra del nuovo arrivo a casa dei miei suoceri, una dolcissima micina - per non andare off topic, sulle unghie indosso sempre Nomad!

sorry if I haven't posted for a while but I've been incredibly busy.
But for today's post I chose a really special polish, Illamasqua Nomad.
It belongs to the recent Human Fundamentalism Collection and it is a stunning pastel jade green. 
I really like its formula: it has the perfect thickness, so it is easy to apply, it fills well the ridges and it is, in practice, a one coater.
Drying time is fast and, once dried, Nomad is really glossy. As a final note: it has a high longevity.
I had very high expectation for this polish, because I fell in love with it immediately after seeing the press release of Human Fundamentalism Collection. Now I can say that our love story will last for a long, long time!

[Haul] Oh Lord, give me parsimony, but do not give it yet!

Parafrasando, io invoco Odino e Thor affinché mi facciano il dono della parsimonia... Ma un pelino più in là nel tempo!

One of the most famous quotes of St. Augustin is: "Oh Lord, give me chastity, but do not give it yet". At the same manner, I hope that someday Odin and Thor will give me parsimony... Maybe not too soon!

Al di là dell'Essence Very Cherry, già swatchato, e del top coat profumato della Fruity (che non mi sta piacendo granché ma me lo devo ancora studiare prima di recensirlo), mentre ero in visita in una OVS piemontese ho arraffato:

E già che c'ero ho ceduto anche al BeYu 330, un fantastico duochrome!

Come ho già scritto, poi, sono stata a Roma per qualche giorno. Non ho avuto molto tempo per fare acquisti dato che ero in loco per questioni di lavoro, ma il risultato dell'arrivare a Termini un'ora e mezza prima della partenza del treno è stato l'acquisto dell'Essie To Buy or Not to Buy (nomen omen), un rosa delicato con un tocco di lilla e un bellissimo shimmer blu.

As I already wrote, I was in Rome for nearly a week. I was there for work reasons, so I didn't have the chance to do a city tour or so much shopping. Luckily I arrived in Rome Termini one hour and a half before the departure of my train, so I went to Sephora and took the beautiful Essie To Buy or Not to Buy, a gorgeous pink with a hint of lilac and a strong blue shimmer. 

Infine, complice la stanchezza e le demonie tentatrici Francesca e Serena, ho fatto ciò che mi ero ripromessa di non fare: comprare degli ombretti. Ed ecco qua che nel mio stash sono entrati un refill dell'Aquadisiac di MAC e il pigmento, sempre MAC, Reflects Transparent Teal. I due ciliegioni non ne hanno voluto sapere di farsi fotografare decorosamente, per cui mi riprometto di farveli vedere per benino più avanti!
So che non avrei dovuto, ma chiedo la vostra assoluzione.

In the end... I know. I shouldn't have bought these last two items. But I was sooooo tired, and moreover I was with two very special personal shoppers (my friends Serena and Francesca), so I bought also a refill of Aquadisiac and the stunning pigment Reflects Transparent Teal (both from MAC). 
Please, absolve me!
These two young masters were incredibly difficult to photograph, so I will write ASAP a review with better swatches.

Orly Beach Cruiser

Come promesso, ecco il post che avrei dovuto pubblicare ieri.
Terzo smalto della Orly Feel the Vibe Collection, il super neon Beach Cruiser.
Si tratta del rosa evidenziatore per eccellenza. Le foto non possono rendere la luminosità di questo smalto. Ci ho provato, ho usato diverse impostazioni, diverse fotocamere, ho persino tentato l'elaborazione in post produzione, ma non c'è niente da fare: il suo essere sparaflesciante non è catturabile.
Al di là del colore stupefacente, mi ha piacevolmente colpita la sua pigmentazione (solo due passate nelle foto) nonché la sua durata. Seriamente: questo smalto è un highlander. A differenza di Skinny Dip (che ha una longevità comunque decisamente buona ma leggermente al di sotto della eccellente media di Orly, tanto che gli avevo dato 4/5 per quel parametro di valutazione), Beach Cruiser ha resistito per sei giorni in modo impeccabile a:
- 6 docce a dieci miliardi di gradi;
- 2 shampoo con tanto di vigorosa strofinatura della cute;
- un ciclo di pulizie complete senza guanti (non li indosso mai se non uso l'anticalcare)
- una gradient manicure con doppio giro di sponging e top coat.
E dopo tutto questo, era appena consumato in punta, in modo quasi impercettibile. Impressionante. Mi ha ricordato l'Emerald Fitzgerald di China Glaze, che ho tolto dopo 8 giorni per disperazione (mi piace un sacco cambiare, l'avrete notato!).
I tempi di asciugatura, infine, sono molto rapidi. Beach Cruiser, come la stragrande maggioranza dei neon, asciuga con un finish satin, ma nelle mie foto lo potete vedere con un top coat.
Insomma, uno dei miei smalti preferiti non solo degli ultimi tempi, ma proprio in assoluto.
Aaaaah, già non vedo l'ora di mostrarvi la gradient che ci ho fatto sopra! Ma per oggi è tutto, a presto e buona serata!

As promised, here it is the post that I should have published yesterday.
I'm going to show you the third nail polish from Orly Feel the Vibe Collection, Beach Cruiser.
It's not a "simply" neon pink, it is the highlighter neon pink par excellence! I really, really tried to capture its brightness with my camera, but it's impossible. I used several settings, two different cameras, I even tried to photoshop the pics but I had to give up. This polish, IRL, is more neon and more bright.
Besides the stunning color, I was surprised by its good pigmentation (two coats in my pics) and by its longevity. This polish is a highlander. Its "colleague" Skinny Dip has a good longevity, but a bit lower than Orly's standards (for this reason I gave it 4 out 5 in my evaluation). Beach Cruiser resisted for almost a week on my nails, despite:
- 6 super, super hot showers;
- two shampoos with a long massage on the skin;
- a "desperate housewife" attack (and I didn't use gloves);
- a gradient manicure which I will show you in the next days.
And, after all this, I noticed only a minor tipwear. Impressive. It made me think at China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, which I removed after 8 days for frustration.
As a final note, Beach Cruiser dries really fast. It dries satin, I used a top coat for my pics.
It is one of my most fav polish of all time!
Can't wait to show you the gradient manicure (my first attempt!) that I realized in combo with Kiko 333!
