Buonasera a tutte!
Siamo ormai a marzo inoltrato quindi è giunto il momento di mostrarvi la pietra del mese, l'acquamarina, che guarda caso è la mia preferita, tanto che l'ho fortissimamente voluta per il mio anello di fidanzamento. Pare che l'acquamarina abbia la proprietà di donare tranquillità, serenità e creatività ed è quindi ideale per chi vuole dedicarsi alla meditazione. Può essere considerata un sorta di "bilancia" in grado di armonizzare il fisico e la mente. Ok, c'è qualcosa che non va: sono tutto fuorché una persona tranquilla e serena! E non brillo neppure per creatività... Mah! Misteri!

GOT Challenge #8: Orange! [Basic Beauty #52 Arancio Jelly Glitter]

I'm so sorry that I missed last week's appointment with GOT Challenge, but I'm quite busy with all these wedding's stuff. Anyway, I'm back to show you my pick for this new appointment; the theme is orange and I'm going to show you a nail polish by the Italian brand Basic Beauty.

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106
Ciao a tutte!
Oggi vi mostro un altro smalto giunto a me grazie ad Anne di Polishinail, il Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106, che avevo in wishlist da un bel po' visto che è proprio il mio genere! Ha infatti base trasparente con tripudio di generosissimi glitter quadrati ed esagonali di diverse dimensioni e colori (troviamo del verde, dell'oro, del viola e dell'azzurro).
Ho optato per una glitter gradient sopra al Basic Beauty #32 Amazzonia, mentre sull'anulare ho osato una accent. Tenete conto che ho dato solamente una mano di smalto, ed è già molto coprente. Per un risultato più deciso e completamente coprente, dunque, due mani di Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106 sono più che sufficienti.
Si stende facilmente e asciuga in fretta, che volere di più? A me è piaciuto un sacco, è il tipico smalto che riesce a donare un tocco festoso (e un po' folle) su qualsiasi base decidiate di layerizzarlo.

Today I'm going to show you another nail polish I received thanks to Anne of Polishinail, Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106. I had this product in my wishlist for a while, it's the kind of polish that drives me mad! It has clear base and a very generous amount of glitter, multicolored particles; glitters are squared and hexagonal and have different sizes too. They can be green, or gold, or purple or light blue.
I decided to do a glitter gradient over Basic Beauty #32 Amazzonia, plus a simple accent nail on my ring finger. There you can see just ONE coat of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106. If you prefer a bolder result, two coats of this polish on its own are enough for the perfect coverage. Moreover, it dries fast and its formula is ok.
I like it a lot, it's the typical polish which can give a touch of brightness (and madness!) to a "boring" creme base.

Geometrical Nails with Orly So Go-Diva
Buonasera bellezze!
Post rapido per mostrarvi una semplice nail art geometrica che ho realizzato col Basic Beauty #49 come base.
Utilizzando il nastro adesivo per essere più precisa, ho creato dei triangoli ed altre figure geometriche di dubbia esistenza applicando l'Orly So Go-Diva (che avete già visto in azione qui), ovvero un festoso glitter con base trasparente e particelle luccicanti quadrate ed esagonali color bronzo/rame.
Sul pollice potete vedere invece in azione due passate di So Go-Diva.
Come tutti i glitter della Flash Glam che ho provato, So Go-Diva ha formula corposa ma facile da stendere ed asciuga in modo sorprendentemente rapido.
Chiaramente questo genere di smalto dà il meglio di sé per il layering o per le nail arts, dunque ci si può giocare sostanzialmente all'infinito, basta un po' di fantasia.

A quick post just to show you a simply geometrical nail art I created with Basic Beauty #49 as base color.
I used scotch tape to create triangles and other geometrical forms by applying Orly So Go-Diva (I've already showed you it here).
So Go-Diva is a mix of smaller copper/bronze squared glitters and bigger hex glitters in a clear base.
On my thumb you can see two coats of So Go-Diva over Basic Beauty #49.
Like all the other polishes from Flash Glam FX Collection I've tried, So Go-Diva has a thick but easy to apply formula and it dries fast, which was a nice surprise because I used a great quantity of product for my creations.
Obviously this kind of polish is great for layering and other kinds of nail arts, so you can play and have a lot of fun with it.

The Rainbow Ladies #2: ORANGE [Basic Beauty #49]
Una quantità spropositata di smalti negli Helmer e rendersi conto che di arancio puri ne hai pochi, e quasi esclusivamente neon. Che con mezzo metro di neve fuori casa e un freddo porco non sono proprio invitanti.
Alla fine è spuntato lui, il Basic Beauty #49, che cade doppiamente a fagiolo perché attualmente c'è un'offerta su questo brand, 3 smalti per 4.99€ nelle profumerie Limoni. Andate e peccate anche per me, signore mie, ché io sono in no buy policy.
Il BB #49 è un bell'arancio vivo, ma non neon, dal fantastico shimmer tono su tono e fuchsia. Due mani abbondanti per la coprenza delle foto, applicazione e formula perfette.
I tempi di asciugatura non sono proprio rapidi, per cui consiglio un fast drying top coat.
A me è piaciuto tantissimo, spero che sia lo stesso per voi, e come sempre: date un'occhiata a cosa hanno combinato le altre pulzelle!
I have around 600 polishes in my stash, but only a few oranges. Moreover, the majority of them has a neon finish. I love neons, but here in North Italy it's super cold and there's snow everywhere, so I'm not in the right mood for a neon orange.
Luckily, I found this beauty in my untrieds box. Basic Beauty #49 is a super bright orange with orange and pink shimmers.
Application was really pleasant, its formula it's perfect. Two generous coats in my pics.
It dries a bit slowly, so I'd suggest to use a fast drying top coat.
I really like this shade, even if I had almost forgotten I had it. As I wrote several times, Basic Beauty is a cheap Italian brand which can be found in Limoni and La Gardenia stores; their nail polishes are actually on sale (4.99€ for 3 nail polishes), so if you're in Italy for any reason or you have a nailpal in Italy, I'd suggest to take a look at their color range.

Polish wars: Color Club Magic Elf VS Basic Beauty #103 VS Ever #52

Post programmato, sono momentaneamente fuori città (Bologna, per la precisione) per cui ci metterò un po' a rispondere ai commenti.
Questa settimana è stata insanamente intensa. Sono veramente a pezzi e persino con poca voglia di girovagare e shoppingare in una città con negozi assai più interessanti di quelli che vedo di solito.
Vorrei solo rannicchiarmi in posizione fetale e dormireeeeee!
Per oggi ho preparato una comparison a tre tra il Color Club Magic Elf, il Basic Beauty #103 e l'Ever #52.

Anyway, back to us: today I have a polish war for you. The protagonists are three nail polishes, and two of them are by Italian brands: Color Club Magic Elf, Basic Beauty #103 and Ever #52.
Come avrete notato voi stesse, questi smalti sono assai simili tra di loro. Il più diverso è il Color Club, che ha nel verde della base un tocco di acido; inoltre, non lo definirei un foil, ma un shimmer con tonnellate e tonnellate di particelle tono su tono e dorate.
As you can see, these polishes are really, really similar. Color Club is the most different: the green of the base has a touch of acid and I won't define it as a foil; it is more a super, super, super shimmered polish.
Il Basic Beauty e l'Ever sono praticamente dupe. Ok, ad un'osservazione più che attenta, anzi direi maniacale, l'Ever ha qualche particella dorata in più, ma è quasi impossibile notare la differenza.
Basic Beauty #103 and Ever #52 are definitely dupe. Ok, if you look very carefully Ever has a bit more of gold particles in it, but it's almost impossible to see the difference.
In conclusione, direi che se possedete uno di questi smalti potete anche saltare gli altri due.
Il fatto che a livello qualitativo siano, nuovamente, sostanzialmente identici tra di loro, non aiuta a consigliarne uno su tutti!
Inoltre, aggiungerei che il Basic Beauty è un dupe perfetto anche dello Zoya Apple, che è una gran notizia considerato quanto è difficile reperire gli Zoya da noi (e quanto costano, poi!).

These polishes are extremely similar also in terms of pigmentation and longevity, so I really don't know which one to suggest.

Nail art time: from Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe to Basic Beauty #103 [gradient]
Buonasera a tutte!
Oggi è il turno di una gradient un po' "nostalgica": infatti l'ho realizzata nei primissimi giorni di ottobre, quando ancora c'era il sole ed una temperatura ai limiti dell'estivo... Che meraviglia. Altro che il tempo freddo, uggioso e piovoso di queste ore.
Lo smalto di base, il verde chiaro, è il Basic Beauty #103, aka la mia B della ABC Challenge, mentre il verde più scuro, uno splendido verde smeraldo con tonnellate di mini flakies blu, dorati e verdi, è l'Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.
(considerazione estemporanea: penso che questo post abbia il titolo più lungo del mondo)

ABC Challenge: B for Basic Beauty #103
Dopo la perla inglese di cui alla lettera A, un'altra perla, stavolta italica.
Per cui ecco a voi la lettera BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBì!
Il Basic Beauty #103 è uno spettacolare verde acceso infuso di milioni di particelle dorate che vanno a creare un meraviglioso finish foil.
La formula è assolutamente ineccepibile, dunque l'applicazione è davvero semplice e scorrevole - peraltro credo di aver già lodato in passato il pennellino Basic Beauty, non troppo largo né troppo piccolo.
Due passate per la coprenza perfetta, asciugatura rapidissima e durata buona.
Lo trovo a dir poco stupendo sia alla luce solare diretta che all'ombra, e persino con la luce artificiale, insomma, assolutamente da avere!
E' anche il dupe di un altro "collega" ben più famoso e costoso, ma per questo vi rimando alla prossima puntata!

After choosing a beautiful but foreign nail polish for letter A, here it is a stunning Italian polish!
This is my letter BBBBBBBBBBBBBB. For Basic Beauty #103.
#103 is a bright green with a million of gold particles which create a foil finish.
Formula is great and application is super easy - I think I already wrote it, but I want to repeat that I love Basic Beauty brush, it's not too wide or not too thin. Just great.
Two coats in my pics, drying time is super fast ang longevity is good.
I think that this polish is simply stunning in direct sunlight, in the shade or with artificial light.
Well, I'm in love.
This polish is a dupe for a more famous and known polish, but I'll tell you more about its dupes in a future post!

La formula è assolutamente ineccepibile, dunque l'applicazione è davvero semplice e scorrevole - peraltro credo di aver già lodato in passato il pennellino Basic Beauty, non troppo largo né troppo piccolo.
Due passate per la coprenza perfetta, asciugatura rapidissima e durata buona.
Lo trovo a dir poco stupendo sia alla luce solare diretta che all'ombra, e persino con la luce artificiale, insomma, assolutamente da avere!
E' anche il dupe di un altro "collega" ben più famoso e costoso, ma per questo vi rimando alla prossima puntata!

After choosing a beautiful but foreign nail polish for letter A, here it is a stunning Italian polish!
This is my letter BBBBBBBBBBBBBB. For Basic Beauty #103.
#103 is a bright green with a million of gold particles which create a foil finish.
Formula is great and application is super easy - I think I already wrote it, but I want to repeat that I love Basic Beauty brush, it's not too wide or not too thin. Just great.
Two coats in my pics, drying time is super fast ang longevity is good.
I think that this polish is simply stunning in direct sunlight, in the shade or with artificial light.
Well, I'm in love.
This polish is a dupe for a more famous and known polish, but I'll tell you more about its dupes in a future post!

Basic Beauty 48PE
Buonasera a tutte!
In attesa (spasmodica) della partita della Nazionale di calcio, vi propongo uno smalto di italica provenienza, prodotto da questa Basic Beauty (appartenente al marchio Limoni) che tanto sto apprezzando (ed acquistando) ultimamente.
Il 48PE (che nervi non avere il nome, sul sito non ci sono tutte le colorazione e relativi nomi purtroppo!) è uno splendido turchese carico dal finish super shimmeroso tono su tono, che in ombra e con la luce artificiale ha stupendi riflessi violetti.
La sua pecca sta un po' nella pigmentazione non propriamente eccelsa (tre passate per la coprenza delle foto), ma in compenso si stende molto bene ed asciuga piuttosto rapidamente.
Anche la durata è decisamente buona (4 giorni pieni).
Mi ripeterò, sono contenta degli smalti Basic Beauty che ho provato finora, ed in effetti ne ho davvero molti altri da provare visto che ho approfittato spudoratamente dalla promo 3x2 (attiva fino al 1 luglio).
Ed ora viaaaaa, mi metto in modalità tifosa sfegatata!

While I'm waiting for tonight's football match (Italy VS Eire), I want to show you a polish by an italian brand, Basic Beauty. I really appreciate the nail polishes that this brand produces, I bought a lot of them thanks to their sale and I'm really happy with the polishes I have already tried.
#48PE (ok, I hate the fact that it's impossible to find its name because it's not available on Limoni's on line shop) is a beautiful sparkling turquoise with a super shimmery finish. In artificial light and in the shade, moreover, it has slight light purple reflects.
Pigmentation is not excellent (three coats in my pics) but application is easy and drying time is fast.
Also longevity is quite good (four days before minor tip wear).
Again, I want to repeat that I appreciate a lot this line of nail polishes, I still have tons of them to show you and I can't wait to try all of them (expecially the jellies!).

Parafrasando, io invoco Odino e Thor affinché mi facciano il dono della parsimonia... Ma un pelino più in là nel tempo!

Come ho già scritto, poi, sono stata a Roma per qualche giorno. Non ho avuto molto tempo per fare acquisti dato che ero in loco per questioni di lavoro, ma il risultato dell'arrivare a Termini un'ora e mezza prima della partenza del treno è stato l'acquisto dell'Essie To Buy or Not to Buy (nomen omen), un rosa delicato con un tocco di lilla e un bellissimo shimmer blu.
As I already wrote, I was in Rome for nearly a week. I was there for work reasons, so I didn't have the chance to do a city tour or so much shopping. Luckily I arrived in Rome Termini one hour and a half before the departure of my train, so I went to Sephora and took the beautiful Essie To Buy or Not to Buy, a gorgeous pink with a hint of lilac and a strong blue shimmer.
Infine, complice la stanchezza e le demonie tentatrici Francesca e Serena, ho fatto ciò che mi ero ripromessa di non fare: comprare degli ombretti. Ed ecco qua che nel mio stash sono entrati un refill dell'Aquadisiac di MAC e il pigmento, sempre MAC, Reflects Transparent Teal. I due ciliegioni non ne hanno voluto sapere di farsi fotografare decorosamente, per cui mi riprometto di farveli vedere per benino più avanti!
So che non avrei dovuto, ma chiedo la vostra assoluzione.

[Haul] Confessions of a Polishaholic
Io ci sto provando a trattenermi dagli acquisti. Lo giuro. E devo dire che non sta andando affatto male.
Da moltissimo tempo ho smesso di comprare continuamente t-shirts, la mia grande passione in materia di abbigliamento.
Da parecchio ho dato un giro di vite all'acquisto di prodotti per il corpo.
Sono persino riuscita ad arginare il flusso di dineros che dal mio portafogli giungeva nelle casse delle varie case cosmetiche per comprare l'ennesima, imperdibile sfumatura di viola.
Ormai acquisto solo ciò che mi è realmente necessario, con eccezioni più uniche che rare.
Ma con gli smalti NON CI RIESCO. Scusate il caps lock, ma quando ci vuole, ci vuole!
Mi trattengo, anche per parecchie settimane, e poi inevitabilmente cedo. Sarà che costano poco, sarà che per me pittare le unghie è molto più che un hobby: è un modo per allentare, sebbene per qualche manciata di minuti, la pesantezza di questa o quell'altra situazione.
Sabato scorso, poi, mi sentivo particolarmente "cedevole" in quanto reduce da una settimana davvero impegnativa.
Nonché affetta da smaronamento compulsivo a causa del continuo diluviare degli ultimi tempi. Insomma, avevo voglia di colore. E questo è il risultato del mio bisogno di sfogarmi.

I stopped buying t-shirts a couple of years ago - they're my biggest passion when it comes to clothes and I have two huge drawers full of them.
I stopped buying body and skin products if I don't really need them.
I even stopped buying cosmetics only because I want the umpteenth shade of purple or green eyeshadow.
But when it comes to nail polishes... I CAN'T RESIST (sorry for the caps lock). I can't stop buying them. Maybe because they're cheap, maybe because polishing my nails is more than a hobby to me: it relaxes me when I'm stressed (and I do a job that is extremely stressful and "heavy") and it always makes feel happy for a few minutes even in the most difficult situation.
Last Saturday I felt particularly depressed. Really, really depressed. So I gave up. This is the result:
Giungendo al sodo: dopo essermi trattenuta anche solo dall'osservare da vicino i nuovi 40 colori proposti da Kiko, ecco arrivare il colpo di grazia a tutte le mie buone intenzioni.

- 389 Lattementa, tra i più amati, almeno da quel che ho letto in giro.
When Kiko launched 40 new shades I didn't even watch at them. But last week they announced a sale on their nail polishes... And I finally bought:
- 358 Pesca (Peach)
- 360 Rosa Fragola (Strawberry Pink)
- 362 Rosso Papavero (Poppy Red)
- 389 Lattementa (one of the most successful shade of the new collection; its name could not be translated in english, but it is a drink, to be precise mint-flavored milk)
Già che ero in giro, volevo non fare una puntata da Limoni, dove c'è ancora la promozione sui Basic Beauty 3x7.99€? Appunto. C'erano anche i colori nuovi. E allora via con:

- 46PE
- 66PE
Peccato non aver trovato i nomi di questi sul sito di Limoni. In genere hanno dei nomi davvero da cappottarsi dalle risate!

Infine, H&M, dove ho appreso con dolore che quest'anno vanno le stampe con fiori giganteschi e, in generale, con fantasie che persino mia nonna avrebbe definito vetuste, ma dove mi son lasciata tentare da uno degli smalti più deliranti mai visti: il Confetti.
Non è uno smalto in realtà, è una base trasparente con dentro un marasma allucinante di glitters!
In the end, I went to H&M and I was a bit disappointed by their new collection of clothes. I really don't like those dresses with huge floral stamps. They make me feel old and fat. I took a look at their nail polishes and bought Confetti, which has a clear base with a delirium of multicolored glitters inside. I have no idea about how to use it, but I am in love.
Per oggi è tutto, a domani con un nuovo post. Non so ancora con quale prodotto ('nnamo bene!!!).

Nail art time: Happy Easter!
Innanzitutto, buona Pasqua a tutte!
Tra una lasagna e un fritto misto ho trovato il tempo di fare una nail art molto, come dire... Discreta!
Ma vabbé, sono in vacanza, potrò pure esagerare! E poi mi sembrava un modo carino per farvi i miei auguri e ringraziarvi per seguirmi e leggermi sempre.

In these days I've really been busy in eating a lot of dietetic food like lasagna and fritto misto, but I have found the time to do a nail art!
It's a bit crazy, I know, but hey! I'm on vacation, and I think it's a nice way to wish you a happy Easter and to thank you for reading and commenting my posts.

Temo che una spiegazione di come ho realizzato il tutto sia abbastanza superflua, sono tutti disegni piuttosto semplici ed intuitivi, serve solo un po' di pazienza nell'attendere che il tutto si asciughi per passare allo step successivo (ad esempio, dopo aver disegnato la struttura delle uova ho aspettato una decina di minuti prima di disegnare i contorni e i ghirigori col nero).
Sono particolarmente entusiasta della polvere glitter, regalo di mia sorella, che è davvero impalpabile e a dir poco perfetta per la nail art una volta mescolata al top coat.
Spero vi sia piaciuta, vi rinnovo i miei auguri e, dato che sono curiosa come una gazza, vorrei sapere cosa vi siete pappate oggi!
I am afraid that it would be completely useless to explain the various steps. This nail art is really simple and intuitive to realize.
You only need a little (ok, a lot of!) patience between each step!
I am really enthusiastic about the glitter powder (my sister gave it to me yesterday!), it's really impalpable and perfect for nail art once you mix it with a drop of top coat.
Well, hope you like this nail art, my best wishes once again and, since I'm very curious, I also ask you: what have you eaten today?!?!?!

In these days I've really been busy in eating a lot of dietetic food like lasagna and fritto misto, but I have found the time to do a nail art!
It's a bit crazy, I know, but hey! I'm on vacation, and I think it's a nice way to wish you a happy Easter and to thank you for reading and commenting my posts.

- Water based acrylics (black, white, magenta, green, orange, blue)
- 10/0 and 00 brushes
- Dotting tool
- Gold glitter powder
- Base Coat: Orly Bonder
- Top Coat: Nubar Diamont
Temo che una spiegazione di come ho realizzato il tutto sia abbastanza superflua, sono tutti disegni piuttosto semplici ed intuitivi, serve solo un po' di pazienza nell'attendere che il tutto si asciughi per passare allo step successivo (ad esempio, dopo aver disegnato la struttura delle uova ho aspettato una decina di minuti prima di disegnare i contorni e i ghirigori col nero).
Sono particolarmente entusiasta della polvere glitter, regalo di mia sorella, che è davvero impalpabile e a dir poco perfetta per la nail art una volta mescolata al top coat.

I am afraid that it would be completely useless to explain the various steps. This nail art is really simple and intuitive to realize.
You only need a little (ok, a lot of!) patience between each step!
I am really enthusiastic about the glitter powder (my sister gave it to me yesterday!), it's really impalpable and perfect for nail art once you mix it with a drop of top coat.
