Review: NYC Smooth Skin Mousse Foundation [in 700 Ivory]

No, non mi sono dimenticata che questo è principalmente un nail blog, giuro che da domani tornerò a mostrarvi smalti e nail art. Ma per oggi vi cuccate la review di una new entry nel mio beauty case, ovvero il fondotinta della NYC Smooth Skin Mousse, nella colorazione 700 Ivory, la più chiara in commercio qui in Italia.
Purtroppo non c'è molta scelta in tal senso, le tonalità disponibili sono solo tre (nonostante il sito italiano della NYC ne indichi quattro), ma ho avuto abbastanza fortuna da cuccare quella giusta per me. Ironico, visto che di solito non trovo il colore per me nemmeno piangendo in giargianese.
Il NYC Smooth Skin Mousse Foundation, come suggerisce il nome stesso, è un prodotto cremoso e super soffice; la texture è davvero fantastica, morbidissima e spumosa, facilissima da stendere. Si fonde perfettamente con la pelle, scivola via che è una bellezza e si applica davvero in lampo. Io prediligo l'applicazione con spugnetta da fondo, ma ho ottenuto ottimi risultati anche con le semplici dita. L'applicazione con pennello da fondo, invece, non mi ha fatta impazzire.
La coprenza, prelevando pochissimo prodotto, è media, ma anche modulabile, insomma se siete in periodo di scariche ormonali folli e avete bisogno di extra coprenza potete facilmente ottenerla.
Mi piace molto l'effetto che dà, opacizzante ma non finto. NYC promette una durata di 9 ore: senza cipria, ci attestiamo sulle 7-8 ore. Se fissato con un velo di cipria, rimane perfetto dalla prima mattina a sera inoltrata.
Io ne sono a dir poco entusiasta. Considerato, poi, il prezzo (meno di 5€) posso davvero stappare lo spumante per festeggiare cotanto acquisto azzeccato.
Nota doverosa: la pecca di questo prodotto sta nell'INCI. Se volete che ve lo copi scrivetemelo nei commenti, ma vi anticipo sin d'ora che contiene siliconi e paraffina. Tuttavia, io non ho riscontrato peggioramenti nella pelle da quando lo sto usando; anzi, da quando lo uso non mi sono più spuntati brufoli!
Attenzione: non sto dicendo che siliconi e paraffina fanno bene alla pelle e da domani tutte a spalmarci in faccia il Paraflù al posto dell'idratante. Non sono pazza. Il mio discorso è differente: negli ultimi tempi avevo abbandonato la retta via e non stavo affatto curando la pelle. Il mio make-up, dal lunedì al venerdì, consta spesso solo di fondo, cipria e rossetto o balsamo labbra. Mi capitava sovente di non struccarmi la sera, "tanto è solo fondotinta"; poi la mattina mi lavavo il viso col sapone al burro di karité, ma ormai il danno era fatto. Da quando sto usando questo fondo, invece, visto che sono conscia del suo INCI imperfetto, mi strucco religiosamente e accuratamente, e la mia pelle ne è ben felice. Insomma, la paraffina malefica mi ha dato l'input per tornare a prendermi più cura di me.

I know, in this last period I'm writing many posts related to make-up products. I haven't forgotten that this is mainly a nail blog, starting from tomorrow I'm going to show you again new nail polishes and nail arts, I promise! 
Today I'm going to talk about a recent purchase, which is NYC Smooth Skin Mousse Foundation in 700 Ivory, which is the lighter colour available here in Italy. I have been very lucky to finally find the perfect shade for me, because if you have a light skin with pink undertone and you live in Italy like me, finding the right foundation colour is a true challenge. I suppose that many international brands (L'Oréal, Max Factor, Maybelline, Revlon and so on) think that Italian ladies all have medium or dark skin with yellow undertone, because the lighter shades of their foundations are not available in my country.
Anyway, NYC Smooth Skin Mousse Foundation, like the name suggests, is a soft and creamy mousse; the texture is simply a.m.a.z.i.n.g., it's so easy and pleasant to apply and blend. I usually apply it with a foundation sponge or with my hands; on the contrary, I didn't like the result when I applied it with a foundation brush. 
If you use a tiny amount of product, the coverage is medium, but it's buildable, so if you need extra coverage for any reason you can easily obtain it. 
I really like the effect on my skin, quite natural and with a matte finish. NYC says that this foundation lasts up to 9 hours; applied it on its own, it lasts approx 7-8 hours on me. But if you fix it with a touch of face powder, it lasts up to 12 hours.
I'm really, really, really enthusiast about this product! It's simply wonderful and moreover it is super cheap (it costs less than 5€ here in Italy).
The only bad side is its INCI, which is far away from perfect: if you want to know the exact composition of this product, tell me in the comments; in the meanwhile, I disclose that it contains silicons and paraffinum liquidum. But honestly I haven't noticed any bad changes in my skin since I've started using NYC Smooth Skin Mousse. On the contrary, my skin is getting a bit better! No, I'm not saying that silicons and paraffinum liquidum improve the skin. I'm not crazy.
Simply, in the last months I haven't taking care of my skin. I often wear only foundation, face powder and lipstick as daily make-up, so in the past I usually didn't remove properly my make-up before going to bed. I washed my face with an appropriate soap only when I woke up the day after. And this is a very bad habit. Since I have started to use this foundation, I have always removed with accuracy my make-up because I know that I'm wearing a foundation that contains "bad" ingredients, and my skin seems to be very happy of this! In short, the awful paraffinum liquidum gave me the right input to restart a good skin care routine.
