December Empties

Ciao figliole,
come va? Io oggi son rientrata a lavoro e ad essere onesta son piuttosto sconvolta. Il ritorno alla realtà è sempre piuttosto brusco!
Comunque, è ora di stilare il mio bilancio mensile dei prodotti terminati di dicembre. Ed ecco a voi:

Collistar Nero Lurex (and Cosmoprof 2012)

Penultima puntata di Italians do it better!
Premetto che lo smalto del giorno, inizialmente, mi aveva molto delusa: il Collistar Nero Lurex, visto nella boccetta, sembra un holo glitter nero. Purtroppo non lo è.
Una volta steso, i punti multicolor sono poco visibili, come potete osservare nelle foto.
Ergo, sulle unghie appare come un nero con glitters argentati e qualche punto luce multicolor.
Però ci sono molti elementi a suo favore: innanzitutto, lo reputo un bel colore, forse più ordinario ma comunque affascinante. Poi si stende che è una meraviglia, è opaco in due passate sottili ed asciuga davvero in fretta.
Infine, ha una longevità davvero eccezionale.
Insomma, avrà meno punti luce rispetto al Models Own Mixed Up, ma come qualità e prestazioni siamo veramente ad altri livelli, nettamente superiori.

Fifth part of Italians do it better!
I must admit that, at first, I was disappointed by the polish of the day. Infact Collistar Nero Lurex, in the bottle, seems an holo glitter. Unfortunately, it is not.
On the nails, the multicolor spots are not so visible, as you can see in my pics. It is a "simple" black with silver glitters and some multicolors glitters too.
But it also has an excellent quality: application is perfect, it is opaque in two thin coats and it dries very fast. It also has an incredible longevity.
Maybe on the nails it is a bit more ordinary comparing to its aspect in the bottle, but I think it is a nice colour. It has less multicolor spots compared to Models Own Mixed Up, but its quality is really higher.

Italians do it better!

... E se lo dice una come Madonna, non possiamo che crederci!!!
Ma se dal campo amoroso ci spostiamo a quello di mia competenza, ovvero gli smalti, le cose cambiano un bel po'. I brands italiani non sono mai stati particolarmente innovativi, proponevano più che altro colori noiosi (i famosi rosini mosci ed i rossi menopausa) e tenevano anche prezzi piuttosto alti.
La supremazia dei salon brands americani, come China Glaze, Orly o Zoya, non è in discussione, almeno per come la vedo io, ma è innegabile che i marchi di casa nostra si stiano un po' svegliando ed abbiano iniziato a sfornare colori e finish più interessanti e meno conservativi.
In alcuni casi i prezzi sono sempre alti, di nuovo secondo la mia opinione, ma vabbé.
Ho dunque pensato di proporre un periodo di swatches e posts tutto italiano, presentandovi alcune novità, come uno degli smalti effetto scarabeo di Deborah Milano e un olografico di Layla, ed altri colori di certo non innovativi ma che mi son piaciuti parecchio.

Many years ago Madonna wore a t-shirt with this writing: Italians do it better.
Unfortunately this is not true when it comes to nail polishes: italian brands used to have a little (and sad!) range of shades, with lots of dull pinks and "menopause reds" and also high prices!
Happily, things have recently changed: even if the supremacy of US salon brands is undisputed, at least in my opinion, we are seeing new and unusual colors and finishes in the last period (but prices are always too high in some cases).
Anyway I'd like to propose a series of posts with "italian only" brands. I will include a couple of news in the italian market, like a holo polish by Layla and a duochrome polish by Deborah Milano, but also other shades that I really like.
This will be my schedule:

Collistar Petrolio Perla

Rieccomi con uno smalto!
Non credo che ci sia bisogno che vi presenti Collistar, è un brand molto conosciuto e facilmente reperibile.
Petrolio Perla è un verdone shimmer con qualche sparuto e discreto flakie tono su tono.
La formula non mi è dispiaciuta, sebbene sia un filo densa, cosa che mi ha causato qualche difficoltà di applicazione.
La pigmentazione è ottima, io ho preferito fare due passate molto sottili per ottenere la coprenza perfetta ma può essere tranquillamente un one coater, ed anche la durata è decisamente buona.
Ve lo consiglio, soprattutto se, come me, riuscite a reperire la Collistar a prezzi fortemente scontati (8€ anziché i 12 di listino).

Here I am again with a nail polish!
Collistar is an italian brand which is sold also in many foreign countries.
The polish of the day is called Petrolio Perla and is a dark green with a shimmer finish (and a few, almost invisible, flakies).
Formula is ok but a bit thick, in fact application is not perfect.
Pigmentation is really exceptional, it can be a one coater even if I did two super thin coats to obtain a good opacity. Longevity is really good too.
I don't know if recommend this polish or not, it's a very good product but I suppose it depends on the price in your country!!!
