In questa puntata della ABC Challenge vi mostro uno smalto H&;M che ho acquistato qualche tempo fa durante i saldi a solo un euro. Aaaaaaaah se tutti gli smalti da 1€ fossero così!

Mi sono resa conto che non postavo uno smalto H&M da una vita ed è ora di rimediare.

H&M Purple Metal [Matte Metallic Nail Polish]

Ciao a tutte!
Oggi vi mostro uno smalto H&M arraffato qualche mese fa un po' a caso, ma che si è rivelato essere una vera figata. Incantata dalla scritta "Matte Metallic", dal leggero effetto duochrome e dal punto di viola davvero splendido, mi sono portata a casa questo bel cucciolo, il Purple Metal.

H&M Dance with Me

Buona domenica a tutte!
Qui nebbia e pioggia la fanno da padrone (tanto per cambiare), il mio essere meteoropatico ne sta soffrendo molto. Comunque, vi presento un fantastico smalto di H&M, preso quest'estate durante i saldi e pagato solo 1€. Un vero e proprio affare, perché il Dance with Me ha davvero un'ottima qualità.
Dance with Me è un viola-magenta con un discreto shimmer, che purtroppo si trasferisce molto poco sull'unghia; in compenso è eccezionalmente coprente in una sola passata. La formula è ineccepibile, l'applicazione è piuttosto semplice anche se trovo che non ci sia niente di meno ergonomico del tappo di questo particolare packaging di H&M), asciuga rapidamente e la durata è buona.
Insomma, acquisto decisamente azzeccato. E anche per oggi è tutto, vi abbraccio e vi dò appuntamento a presto!

Here in North Italy it's another rainy and foggy week-end, I'm really tired of this depressing weather. Anyway, today I'm going to show you a fantastic nail polish by H&M. I bought it during Summer Sales and I paid only 1€ for it. A true bargain, considering the quality of this nail polish, called Dance with Me.
H&M Dance with Me is a magenta-purple with a subtle shimmer which is (unfortunately) more visible in the bottle than on the nails. It has an amazing pigmentation (only one coat for the perfect coverage) and a flawless formula. Application is quite easy, despite the hateful cap (I really abhor its shape, it's one of the most anti ergonomic cap I have ever seen), it dries fast and has a good longevity.

H&M Bella's Choice

Rieccomi qui a mostrarvi uno smalto d'annata, Bella's Choice di H&M, uno dei miei primi acquisti smaltosi. Che sia vecchietto lo dimostra anche il packaging, ormai dismesso da un bel po' da H&M, e che peraltro io trovo assai più pratico dell'attuale per via dell'impugnatura del pennello più ergonomica.
Bella's Choice è un classico turchese creme con un tocco di verde, coprente in due passate e già molto lucido senza top coat. Si stende senza problemi, soprattutto considerato che fa parte di una famiglia di colori che, in generale, è molto difficile da applicare omogeneamente; certo, è complicato avere uno strato liscio di colore con la seconda passata, ma lo smalto si livella già da solo, e un normalissimo top coat darà il tocco finale per un risultato impeccabile.
Asciuga in fretta e ha una buona durata.
Un grande classico, perfetto per lo stamping, le nail art o il layering qualora si desideri aggiungere un tocco di vivacità in più.

Here I am again with an old polish of mine, Bella's Choice by H&M, one of the first varnish I bought when my addiction started. It has the old H&M packaging, which I think it was much better than the actual one because the handle of the brush is smaller and more ergonomic.
Bella's Choice is a classic turquoise with a hint of green with a creme finish; two coats in my pics, it dries super glossy even without a top coat. Application is easy and nice, even if it's very hard to obtain an even result with the second coat since it's a bit streaky, but don't worry: this nail polish is self-leveling and a common top coat will help to obtain a perfect and smooth result. Considering that light blues and turquoises with a creme finish are, in general, very hard to apply and super streaky, I can't complain about Bella's Choice.
It dries fast and has a good longevity too.
A great classic color, which is perfect, IMO, for stamping, nail art or layering if you want to add a bit of magic to a very elegant shade.

ABC Challenge: H for H&M Something Blue

I had big plans for letter H. I wanted to use four different creme shades, one per nail, and then added to them a holographic touch with a watermarble.
But it wasn't possible because of SNOW. Snow, snow, snow everywhere!
I was born and raised in a village in the center of Italy, on the Adriatic Sea, where snow is an exceptional event and usually lasts for a couple of hours before melting. I live in North Italy since 2002, but I still can't stand the typical cold of the Pianura Padana area and I still hate snow!!!
Anyway: no sun, no holographic polishes. Sigh.
So I decided to pick a H&M polish for letter H, and I chose Something Blue. It is a super nice medium blue with a creme finish.
Application was really easy, it has a very good formula. Two coats in my pics.
Moreover, it dries super glossy and fast and has a good longevity too.
After the big disappointment caused by Going Bananas, I can say that I make peace with H&M!

Avevo grandi progetti per la lettera H: volevo pittarmi le unghie con quattro diversi smalti creme e poi renderli olografici con la watermarble.
E invece no: NEVE, neve, neve ovunque!
Vivo al Nord da oltre dieci anni, ma io sono terrona nell'animo, non ce la faccio ad abituarmi a freddo polare e neve malefica. O al tempo uggioso e nuvoloso.
Insomma, no sole, no smalti holo. Ho ripiegato quindi su un H&M che stazionava da un po' nella mia untrieds box, il Something Blue.
Something Blue è un bel blu medio dal finish cremoso, che asciuga davvero rapidamente e con un aspetto superlucido. Applicazione semplice e scorrevole, durata buona.
Posso dire di aver fatto pace con H&M, dopo l'arrabbiatura presa con Going Bananas.

The Rainbow Ladies #3: YELLOW [H&M Going Bananas]

Questo post avrebbe dovuto intitolarsi "Lo strano caso dell'H&M Going Bananas". E dire che avevo aspettative così elevate...
Innanzitutto, adoro il suo nome: evoca nella mia mente malata e perversa un numero imprecisato di banane che rimbalzano a destra e a manca. Insomma, banane bananeggianti (???).
Sìsì, lo so che "going bananas" è un'espressione idiomatica che vuol dire "incazzarsi", ma per me è così. Chevvedevodì. Io ve l'ho sempre scritto che non sto tanto a posto con la testa.
Poi, il colore: un bel giallo pastello pieno di microshimmerini multicolor, evidenti sia in boccetta che durante l'applicazione... Meraviglia. Peccato che, a smalto asciutto, risulti un mero giallo creme. Per vedere lo shimmerino dovete essere sotto la luce artificiale e appiccicare il naso alle unghie.
L'applicazione è ottima e i tempi di asciugatura super rapidi, e nulla da eccepire neppure sulla coprenza: due mani e via.
Il problema sta altrove. Dopo aver messo il top coat, ho notato che lo smalto si è come accartocciato e sollevato ai bordi, rendendoli completamente irregolari, come se fosse stato steso in preda ad una crisi di delirium tremens. Guardate che schifezza soprattutto sul medio. Invece, fidatevi: l'ho steso in maniera eccelsa, super precisa. L'accoppiata base-top coat è la mia solita da mesi (Orly Tough Cookie e Essence Better Than Gel Nails) e non mi ha mai dato problemi, anzi, è una delle migliori mai provate.
Giorno 3: lo smalto a iniziato a creparsi e saltare in piccoli punti.
Ragazze, non ci siamo affatto! Gli darò sicuramente una seconda possibilità per vedere se semplicemente non va d'accordo con la mia base o il top coat, ma per ora è NO. Vorrei sapere da chi lo ha se ha avuto problemi simili, quindi aspetto con ansia un vostro commento a riguardo!
Sono delusissima, avrei voluto farci di tutto con questo colore come base: gradient, applicazione di glitter a cascata, stamping, nail art... E invece, buh.
A presto con smalti che invece non mi han fatto mettere su il broncio, vi abbraccio e vi ricordo che qui sotto ci sono un sacco di post fighi da leggere!

Today I'm going to show you a weird nail polish, H&M Going Bananas. I had very high expectations for this baby, but I was extremely disappointed by it.
First-of-all: its name is sooo funny! I don't know why, but it makes me think at a lot of bananas which dance and hop all around... I know, "going bananas" means "to be extremely angry", but I can't get out of my head the image of dancing bananas when I read this idiomatic expression.
(I wrote since my first post that I'm a crazy lady, you were warned!)
About the color: in the bottle it looks like a pastel yellow with lots of multicolor micro shimmer. This shimmer is also visible during application, but it completely disappears once the polish has dried. It is barely visible under artificial light.
Application is good and drying time is really fast; nothing to complain about coverage too, two coats and you're ready to go.
The issue is: after applying my usual top coat, I noticed that there was a sort of shrinkage at the base of my nails. Can you see it? Expecially on the middle finger... What a disaster!
It seems that the polish has been badly applied, but it wasn't: the borders near my cuticles were neat and nice before the application of top coat. I've been using the same base coat (Orly Tough Cookie) and the same top coat (Essence Better Than Gel Nails) since months, and I've never had this kind of problem. On the contrary, this combo is just perfect.
Moreover, on day 3 I noticed some cracks and chipping on the polish.
Ok: Houston, we have a problem. Of course I will try to use again this polish, changing base and top coat, but for the moment I'm extremely disappointed.
I wanted to use Going Bananas for gradients, funny application of glitters, stamping but... I don't think I will use it again soon.
Anyway: if you have this nail polish, please tell me your experience in the comments. I will appreciate a lot any suggestion!

New Year's Eve Manicure: red and gold green water marble

Salve a tutte!
Post veloce per mostrarvi l'ultima manicure dell'anno... E non potevo che chiudere in bellezza con una water marble, che non facevo proprio dal Capodanno 2011!
Per realizzarla ho usato come base l'H&M Gold, per dare un tocco di dorato caldo, l'Orly Torrid, il rosso festivo per eccellenza, e l'OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service, uno smalto così fantastico e multisfaccettato che è davvero difficile descriverlo: un trionfo di verde-blu-viola-argento a seconda della luce. O magari preferite la definizione della mia amica Eleonora che lo ha descritto come "orgasmo policromico".
Il motivo scelto varia a seconda delle unghie, ho alternato la ragnatela, alla zebra, alla stella di Natale.
Vi lascio alle foto e, ovviamente, auguro a tutte voi una serata di festeggiamenti scoppiettante, seguita da un 2013 che non deluda le vostre aspettative.
Per me il 2012 è stato un annus horribilis, le prospettive per l'anno nuovo non sono esattamente esaltanti, anzi, ma spero di avere sempre la forza e il coraggio di piegarmi ma non spezzarmi alle avversità.
Io continuo a crederci!

A quick post just to show you my New Year's Eve Manicure... I did a water marble because I was missing this kind of nail art, I realized my last water marble one year ago!
Here I used H&M Gold as a base because I wanted to add a warm gold touch to the background of the water marble; for the main design I used Orly Torrid, the best festive red of the last years, and OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This polish is very hard to describe... It's a stunning, amazing, prismatic product. Depending on the light, it can be blue, green, purple or silver... Pure love at the first coat!
I used three different patterns depending on the nail: I did zebra, Christmas Poinsetta and spider web designs.
Well, this is my last post of the year and I wish you a super funny New Year's Eve party. I really hope that the new year will be great for all of you and that your expectations won't be disappointed.
To me, 2012 was a horrible year, I don't think that 2013 will be better but I won't stop hoping for better times. I also hope that I'll have the strenght to face all the new challenges of my life.

ABC Challenge: U for H&M U Must Have This

Buon inizio di settimana a tutte e ben ritrovate con la nostra ABC Challenge.
Analogamente a quanto successo col Rouge Noir di Chanel, mi voglio giocare uno dei primi smalti comprati quando ho smesso di mangiarmi le unghie: l'H&M U Must Have This.
Questo gioiellino, oltretutto, arriva dritto dritto dal mio haul newyorkese dell'estate del 2009, per cui porta con sé anche tantissimi, meravigliosi ricordi.
Comunque: U Must Have This, vecchio packaging, è un bell'azzurro cielo molto inteso dal finish cremoso. La coprenza è eccellente, praticamente un one coater; la formula è densa ma comunque piacevolissima da applicare.
L'asciugatura è rapida e la durata decisamente molto buona.
Posso dunque dire che... Nomen omen! E' uno smalto davvero da avere.

A few posts ago I showed you one of the first polishes I bought when I stopped biting my nails, Chanel Rouge Noir. But also the polish of the day, H&M U Must Have This, was one of my first purchases. I bought it in New York three years and a half ago, so it takes with it a lot of beautiful memories.
Anyway: U Must Have This by H&M (old packaging version) is a gorgeous bright sky blue with a creme finish. Pigmentation is high, it's nearly a one coater. Formula is a bit thick, but application is easy. Drying time is fast and longevity is really high.
What can I say? The name of this polish is a guarantee. I can only recommend it!

[Haul] Confessions of a Polishaholic

Io ci sto provando a trattenermi dagli acquisti. Lo giuro. E devo dire che non sta andando affatto male.
Da moltissimo tempo ho smesso di comprare continuamente t-shirts, la mia grande passione in materia di abbigliamento.
Da parecchio ho dato un giro di vite all'acquisto di prodotti per il corpo.
Sono persino riuscita ad arginare il flusso di dineros che dal mio portafogli giungeva nelle casse delle varie case cosmetiche per comprare l'ennesima, imperdibile sfumatura di viola.
Ormai acquisto solo ciò che mi è realmente necessario, con eccezioni più uniche che rare.
Ma con gli smalti NON CI RIESCO. Scusate il caps lock, ma quando ci vuole, ci vuole!
Mi trattengo, anche per parecchie settimane, e poi inevitabilmente cedo. Sarà che costano poco, sarà che per me pittare le unghie è molto più che un hobby: è un modo per allentare, sebbene per qualche manciata di minuti, la pesantezza di questa o quell'altra situazione.
Sabato scorso, poi, mi sentivo particolarmente "cedevole" in quanto reduce da una settimana davvero impegnativa.
Nonché affetta da smaronamento compulsivo a causa del continuo diluviare degli ultimi tempi. Insomma, avevo voglia di colore. E questo è il risultato del mio bisogno di sfogarmi.

I always try to hold myself back from shopping. I swear. And I have to say that I've been a good girl for many months.
I stopped buying t-shirts a couple of years ago - they're my biggest passion when it comes to clothes and I have two huge drawers full of them.
I stopped buying body and skin products if I don't really need them.
I even stopped buying cosmetics only because I want the umpteenth shade of purple or green eyeshadow.
But when it comes to nail polishes... I CAN'T RESIST (sorry for the caps lock). I can't stop buying them. Maybe because they're cheap, maybe because polishing my nails is more than a hobby to me: it relaxes me when I'm stressed (and I do a job that is extremely stressful and "heavy") and it always makes feel happy for a few minutes even in the most difficult situation.
Last Saturday I felt particularly depressed. Really, really depressed. So I gave up. This is the result:

Giungendo al sodo: dopo essermi trattenuta anche solo dall'osservare da vicino i nuovi 40 colori proposti da Kiko, ecco arrivare il colpo di grazia a tutte le mie buone intenzioni.

Per cui ho fatto miei:

- 362 Rosso Papavero
- 389 Lattementa, tra i più amati, almeno da quel che ho letto in giro.

When Kiko launched 40 new shades I didn't even watch at them. But last week they announced a sale on their nail polishes... And I finally bought:
- 358 Pesca (Peach)
- 360 Rosa Fragola (Strawberry Pink)
- 362 Rosso Papavero (Poppy Red)
- 389 Lattementa (one of the most successful shade of the new collection; its name could not be translated in english, but it is a drink, to be precise mint-flavored milk)

Già che ero in giro, volevo non fare una puntata da Limoni, dove c'è ancora la promozione sui Basic Beauty 3x7.99€? Appunto. C'erano anche i colori nuovi. E allora via con:

- 66PE
Peccato non aver trovato i nomi di questi sul sito di Limoni. In genere hanno dei nomi davvero da cappottarsi dalle risate!

I also visited Limoni, a chain of cosmetic stores which has a super cute line of nail polishes called Basic Beauty. They were still on sale (3 for 7.99€) and I also found the new colors, and I picked:

- 46PE
- 66PE
(I'm so sorry that I couldn't find the name of these polishes on Limoni's website, because they are usually ridicously funny!)

Infine, H&M, dove ho appreso con dolore che quest'anno vanno le stampe con fiori giganteschi e, in generale, con fantasie che persino mia nonna avrebbe definito vetuste, ma dove mi son lasciata tentare da uno degli smalti più deliranti mai visti: il Confetti.
Non è uno smalto in realtà, è una base trasparente con dentro un marasma allucinante di glitters!

In the end, I went to H&M and I was a bit disappointed by their new collection of clothes. I really don't like those dresses with huge floral stamps. They make me feel old and fat. I took a look at their nail polishes and bought Confetti, which has a clear base with a delirium of multicolored glitters inside. I have no idea about how to use it, but I am in love.

Water Marble: green and gold with Essence and H&M

Ultimo post dell'anno!
Spero che lo legga qualcuno e che non siate tutte impegnate a prepararvi per il cenone! Dài, prometto che vi rubo poco tempo: questa è la mia seconda water marble, stavolta l'esperienza è stata meno traumatica. Se volete qualche dritta per non incorrere nei miei stessi errori, vi rimando al mio post introduttivo su questa tecnica.
Per realizzare questa water marble ho utilizzato l'Essence In the Jungle (la prima versione, meglio conosciuta come il dupe dell'OPI Jade is the New Black) e l'H&M Gold.
Devo ammettere che la scelta del Gold non è stata felicissima, è troppo poco pigmentato per risaltare a dovere e ho dovuto fare dei ritocchi a mano. Peccato, perché si allarga perfettamente nell'acqua, la formula è davvero adatta!
Invece In the Jungle è favoloso sotto tutti i punti di vista: bellissimo da solo, perfetto per lo stamping, adattissimo alla water marble. Un vero e proprio gioiellino!
Spero che vi piaccia e, naturalmente, i miei migliori auguri!
Considerando che il mio 2011 è stato davvero orrido, anzi, cacherrimo, della serie "quasi quasi mò mi stordisco con l'acetone", auspico nell'arrivo di tempi migliori e ripongo le mie speranze in questo giro di boa, incrociando le dita affinché non sia solo un giro della pagina del calendario!!!!

I used Essence In the Jungle (the old version, aka the dupe of OPI Jade is the new Black) and H&M Gold. I must admit that Gold wasn't an excellent choice, it is not so pigmented and I had to retouch the final manicure. It's a pity, because its formula is great for water marble.
On the contrary, In the Jungle is the perfect polish: amazing if you wear it on its own, gorgeous for stamping and great for water marbling!

My 2011 was really horrible and awful, so I really hope that the New Year will take me better times, opportunities, etc. I really hope that Italy will have a better future, too. It's a pain to see my beloved country destroyed by corruption and... Lots of other problems that I think you already know.
In the meantime, I'm so looking forward for tonight: food, drink and fun! Yeah!

H&M No Mambo Jambo

Buonasera ragazze!
Pronte per il week end? Io sì, è la prima volta da quasi un mese a questa parte che non ho né febbre, né tosse&raffreddore, né altre cose tipiche di noi donnine, né dolori di altro tipo, ergo sono molto felice e piena di idee!
Purtroppo dovrò prepararmi ad un duro scontro col nuovo gioco della Wii del mio moroso, Legend of Zelda enonmiricordocos'altro, che lui aspettava da tipo quattro anni, e sarà dura tirarlo fuori di casa... Vi farò sapere!
Comunque, veniamo allo smalto di oggi. E' il primo smalto H&M che propongo, quindi mi sembra doveroso dire quanto io ADORI gli smalti H&M. Hanno un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo e colori interessantissimi. Inoltre, ciliegina sulla torta, hanno dei nomi spassosissimi!
Quello di oggi si chiama No Mambo Jambo. Seriamente: ma a voi non far piegare in due dal ridere? (vi prego, ditemi di sì, accondiscendete, un po' come si fa coi matti)
Quando l'ho comprato ho iniziato a ripetere tipo litania: "No Mambo Jambo, No Mambo Jambo, No Mambo Jambo...". Il moroso stava per buttare all'aria tutti i suoi sani principi del genere "le donne non si toccano nemmeno con un fiore" e far partire una testata... Ahem.
Comunque: No Mambo Jambo (ancora!) è uno stupendo turchese con fortissima tendenza al verde smeraldo e shimmer azzurri. E' quasi un one coater e si stende meravigliosamente. L'asciugatura non è propriamente rapidissima, infatti probabilmente noterete qualche segno di lenzuola, sorry.
Il zozzone macchia leggermente, cosa che potrete evitare stendendo due mani di base coat e stando attente alla rimozione dello stesso.
La durata è ottima, dopo 6 giorni l'ho tolto per smania di cambiare, e c'era solo un leggerissimo (quasi trascurabile) tip wear.
Io lo amo alla follia e ve lo straconsiglio!
Ah, dimenticavo: non amo particolarmente questo nuovo packaging H&M, poiché il tappo non è propriamente ergonomico e dovete prenderci la mano, quindi tenete pronto il pennello per il clean up, almeno le prime volte che usate gli smalti col nuovo packaging. BTW, io ODIO quando un'azienda cambia il packaging (come Essence per le TE), mi si sminchia tutto l'ordine dell'Helmer!!!! (organizzo tutti i miei smalti per marca. Mi sa che a questo punto del post avrete già chiamato la neuro...)

Hi ladies!
Thanks God it's friday! I'm really happy and full of energy, finally I am ok and I have no health issues, so I have a lot of plans for this w-e! Unfortunately my boyfriend has just received a new Wii Game, Legend of Zelda andsomethingelse, he has waited for it for four years, so I'm afraid I will have to fight if I want to go out. I suppose this is the end of my sexual life, too!!!
Well, back to us: today I will show you the first H&M polish of my blog. I LOVE H&M polishes. They are cheap but have good (or even excellent) quality. And their names are soooo funny, too!
The polish of the day is called No Mambo Jambo. Seriously, this is so hilarious, isn't it? (say yes please, be condescending, like you will do with a madwoman)
Anyway: No Mambo Jambo is a stunning turquoise with strong emerald accent and light blue shimmer. It's nearly a one coater and formula is great. Drying time is not so fast, infact you have probably noticed slight sheet marks on my nails. Pay attention because this is the genre of color that stains a bit during removal, so apply two coats of your favourite base product.
Longevity is really good, I removed it after six days but there was only a minor tip wear. 
In conclusion, I love it and I highly recommend its purchase!
Ah, a last note: I must admit that I don't like so much this new H&M packaging, the cap is not ergonomic and it needs a bit practise if you want to apply polish in a clear way. I don't like when brands change their packaging, this ruin the order of my Helmer (I organize polishes by brand)!!!
