A England Whispering Waves

Ciao ragazzi e ragazze!
Ussignur che giornata di... Melma che ho avuto oggi a lavoro! Ho bisogno di girare pagina, distrarmi e pensare a qualcosa di bello, bello, bello in modo assurdo.
Insomma ho subito pensato ad uno dei miei smalti preferiti degli ultimi tempi, ovvero Whispering Waves di A England.
Quando l'ho acquistato non ero neppure tanto convinta, mi sembrava qualcosa di già visto e nemmeno troppo originale. Alla prima pennellata ho cambiato idea. Drasticamente.
A England Whispering Waves, infatti, non è il classico turchese; è un colore che sprigiona eleganza, magia e profondità ad ogni pennellata. Il delicatissimo effetto scattered holo non fa che conferirgli ulteriore fascino, così come i vaghi riflessi rosa-violetti. Trovo che le foto gli rendano giustizia fino ad un certo punto: è uno dei quei classici smalti che vanno "vissuti" in prima persona per apprezzarlo al 100%.
La qualità è ineccepibile come al solito: la formula è leggermente densa ma facilissima da gestire e stendere. La pigmentazione è molto alta, per cui potrebbe essere sufficiente una sola passata per ottenere la coprenza perfetta, anche se io ho preferito optare per due mani sottili.
Infine, asciuga rapidamente e la durata è sconvolgente, dura tranquillamente una settimana.
L'unico difetto che posso imputargli è che macchia un po' le unghie in fase di rimozione, per cui vi suggerisco di usare una base peel off o di dare due mani della vostra solita base prima di applicarlo.

I had a very bad day at work and I really feel the need to relax a bit and think about something beautiful, charming and (why not?) frivolous.
So I decided to post about a very special nail polish, that's A England Whispering Waves.
When I bought this shade I wasn't fully convinced of my purchase, because I thought it was a "déjà vu" colour. I was completely wrong. Completely!
Whispering Waves, in fact, isn't the "classic" turquoise; it's a colour that gives off elegance and magic with every coat you apply on your nails. Its subtle scattered holo effect and its subtle pink-purple reflects add an unusual touch. In real life it's even better than in my pics, because in person you can fully appreciate its deepness and colour intensity.
Quality is amazing as usual: formula is a bit thick but still very easy to apply and work with. It could be opaque in one, thick coat but I prefered to apply two thin ones. 
Moreover, it dries fast and has an incredible longevity - it lasted one week on my nails!
The only problem I found is staining - which isn't surprising considering that almost all my turquoises stain a bit - so I would suggest to use a peel off base coat or two coats of your usual base. 
I'm in love with it, and I hope you'll like it too!

A England Briarwood

Ciauuuuuuuu a tutte!
Oggi torno a mostrarvi uno smalto A England, che peraltro trovo particolarmente adatto per questa stagione, e che oltretutto continua la mia piccola maratona olografica fuori stagione.
Sto parlando di Briarwood, un bellissimo rosso scuro che varia verso il marrone/bronzo, ed arricchito di finissime particelle arcobaleno che vanno a formare un effetto holo scattered.

Un nuovo inizio settimana porta con sé un nuovo smalto olografico in condivisione con Simona di Light Your Nails.
Oggi siamo andati sull'estremamente popolare con l'A England Dragon, che avevate già visto in questa mia vecchia water marble. In passato ho parlato tanto di questo brand indie inglese quindi ormai saprete tutte benissimo quanto io lo ami ed adori.

Siamo giunte al penultimo appuntamento con la Finishpedia e parliamo di un altro finish che a me fa davvero impazzire: l'holo scattered!
Il significato letterale di scattered è sparpagliato, sparso, e infatti gli smalti scattered hanno quest'effetto holo non lineare, non omogeneo, non continuo, ma le particelle super riflettenti si distribuiscono in modo casuale sull'unghia.

Qualche settimana fa ho avuto la possibilità di ricevere gratuitamente una plate del brand MoYou Nails (bastava mettere "mi piace" alla loro nuova pagina Facebook). Ho scelto la #222 e ho deciso di metterla in pista stampando il delizioso pattern a farfalla sopra il Faby The Dance of the Graces.

#Dramatag: My Top 5 Splurge Worth Products

Da moltissimo tempo non faccio un tag, diciamo che è un tipo di post che non mi ispira particolarmente. Tuttavia ne esistono diversi davvero utili, oltre che gradevoli da leggere, così come questo, il cui tema è: i cinque prodotti per cui vale la pena spendere una fraccata di soldi.
L'idea originale viene da Fran ed è "spuntata" durante il contest indetto da Drama&Makeup.
Fuoco alle polveri, dopo la foto di gruppo (orrenda, grazie nebbia che ci hai infestato l'intera domenica impedendomi pure di fare foto decenti) andiamo a vederli uno per uno:

I haven't published a tag post for a very long time... I have to say that tags are not my favourite kind of post, but I also think that there are several useful and pleasant to read tags, and this one if among them. The theme is: my Top 5 Splurge Worth Products.
Of course, every brand has a different price in different countries; i.e. MAC is not that expensive in US, but it is in Italy! For this reason, I'm going to include the Italian price for every item.
The original idea of this tag comes from the Italian blogger Fran, who submitted it during a contest by another Italian blogger, Drama&Makeup.
So, after the group shot (sorry for the bad quality of the pic but today the fog has decided to ruin my day, my plans and my swatches) let's see them in detail:

ABC Challenge: S for Swirl Water Marble

Hi ladies
and welcome back to our polished marathon! I had a lot of ideas in my mind for letter S. In the end, I decided to create a Swirl Water Marble!
As you probably know, I'm one of the hugest fan of this technique: it's not easy, it's time consuming, you waste a lot of polish but... The final result is stunning. You can play with lots of colors, finishes and designs, and each nail has a unique pattern.
Here I used Dragon and Lady of the Lake, two gorgeous shades by A England. Dragon is a forest green with a hint of gold and a holo scattered finish. Lady of the Lake is a perfect intense purple and has a holo scattered finish too.
They work perfectly for this technique, they easily spread in the water. 
I love the final result, and I hope you like it too!
A general, final note: I've recently made a video with tips and tricks for water marbling. Many readers write me to ask my help with this nail art, so I decided to do a sort of video guide. In Italian, of course. Now I don't know what to do with this video! Should I add English subs? Should I even upload it?
I'm a very chatty and friendly person, but I'm soooo embarassed about this. I've already appeared on television, I was interviewed by some local radios and newspapers, but it was for work reason. This is something different. I don't think I'm ready for You Tube!!!

e ben ritrovate con la nostra ABC Challenge. Avevo un sacco di idee phaighe per questa lettera S, ma alla fine mi sono lanciata in una swirl (spirale) water marble.
Come probabilmente saprete, sono una grande fan di questa tecnica; che è sì complicata, porta via un sacco di tempo, mette a dura prova la vostra pazienza, ma consente di ottenere risultati spettacolari, ogni volta diversi. Dà la possibilità di giocare con un'infinità di colori e pattern e, grazie ad essa, ogni unghia avrà, di volta in volta, un decoro unico.
Per la mia water marble a spirale ho usato Dragon e Lady of the Lake di A England. Il primo è un verde foresta con un tocco dorato, il secondo un viola intenso. Entrambi hanno finish holo scattered.
Inoltre, funzionano perfettamente per questa tecnica, dal momento che si aprono facilmente in acqua.
Amo follemente il risultato finale, e spero fortemente che piaccia anche a voi!
Considerazione finale: ho ricevuto (e ricevo) tante richieste di aiuto e consigli in materia di water marble. Alla fine, dopo tanto tempo, ho deciso di racchiuderli in un video. Di cui ora come ora non so cosa fare! Non so nemmeno se lo pubblicherò. 
Nonostante io sia una persona estroversa, allegra e caciarona, l'idea di mettermi in gioco su You Tube mi fa gelare il sangue nelle vene. Sono già apparsa in tv, sono anche stata intervistata da giornali e radio locali, ma era per lavoro. E' molto diverso. Insomma, per ora rimango ferma nel limbo. Vedremo!!!!

1) AVARIZIA: qual è lo smalto più economico che possiedi?

In rappresentanza di tutti gli Essence presi a 99 centesimi, ho scelto l'Essence Fatal, in virtù della sua qualità davvero altissima. Un vero affare, insomma!

1) GREED: What is the cheapest nail polish in your stash?

I have bougth a lot of Essence polishes for 99 cents. I picked Fatal because it has an incredible quality... This polish is a bargain!

2) IRA: con quale smalto hai un rapporto di amore-odio?

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific. Colore spettacolare, quasi unico, mi ricorda il mare dei Caraibi e mi fa fare voli pindarici verso paradisi esotici... Ed è infotografabile. Non ci provate nemmeno, non riuscirete mai a renderlo. E poi non asciuga mai: non scherzo. Dopo 48 ore e litri di TC fast drying, sarà ancora dentable.

2) WRATH: Which polish do you have a love-hate relationship with?

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific. The color is gorgeous, almost unique, when I look at it I think at the Carribean Sea but... Capture its true color is impossible. Really impossible. I tried with 5 different cameras but no way. Moreover, this polish doesn't dry. After 48 hours it is still dentable. Even if you use a fast drying top coat.

3) GOLA: quale smalto hai ardentemente desiderato sin dal primo momento in cui lo hai visto?

OPI DS Glamour. E dopo anni di sbav sbav pure e semplice, ce l'ho (grazie alla Simona!).

OPI DS Glamour. It had been my biggest lemming for years, and now I have it (thank you Simona!).

4) ACCIDIA: quale smalto non ami indossare a causa delle difficoltà di applicazione o di rimozione?

Anche qui, scelgo lo Zoya Nova in nome di tutti i glitter che ti fan venire voglia di mettere mano alla carta vetrata. Probabilmente perché è stato il primo glitter "peso" che abbia mai avuto, dunque ecco spiegato il mio... Trauma.

4) SLOTH: Which polish do you hate wearing because of the trouble you have to go to either applying or removing it?

I picked Zoya Nova because it was my very first "heavy" glitter. I hate removing glitter polishes, even if I couldn't live without glitters!

5) SUPERBIA: quale smalto sei orgogliosa di possedere?

A England Iseult. Penso di essere stata tra le primissime in Italia a "spingere" un marchio di altissima qualità e livello quale A England, che io chiamo "il brand con l'anima". Iseult è lo smalto che mi ha fatta perdutamente innamorare e scoprire A England, dunque...

5) PRIDE: Which polish are you proud to own?

A England Iseult. I think that I was one of the first italian customer of A England, the brand that I call "the brand with a soul", and I'm proud about this. 
I fell in love with A England thanks to Iseult, so that's why I chose it.

6) LUSSURIA: quale smalto rende le tue unghie sexy?

A dover dar credito al mio compagno, dovrei rispondere una classica french manicure. Ma se devo dare retta al mio istinto: Essie Too Too Hot. Un nome, una garanzia.
Da indossare rigorosamente in combinazione col MAC Red (ma: visto che il nome della tonalità è MAC Red, per indicarne correttamente nome e marca dovrei forse scrivere MAC MAC Red? Ok, sto divagando).

6) LUST: Which polish makes your nails look sexy?

According to my boyfriend, a classic french manicure. According to me: Essie Too Too Hot. Its name serves as a guarantee!
I love wearing Essie Too Too Hot in combo with MAC Red.

FUOCO ALLE POLVERI!
Ecco il primo smalto della nostra ABC Challenge. E iniziamo subito col botto, smaltariamente tradotto come A England Princess Sabra (detto anche Tristam Eyes in omaggio al bellissimo micio di Adina, mente e cuore del brand inglese).
Princess Sabra è un bellissimo verde oliva chiaro dal finish holo scattered. La coprenza è perfetta in due mani sottili, l'asciugatura rapida e la durata a dir poco notevole.
Mi rendo conto che ad ogni recensione di un prodotto A England mi ripeto: finora questo brand mi ha dato immense soddisfazioni grazie all'altissima qualità ed ai colori unici, quindi ben venga la noia se vuol dire essere entusiaste ad ogni mano di smalto!
Ricordatevi di dare un'occhiata alle entries delle altre figliole, semmai non lo aveste già fatto (chiaramente sono l'ultima a postare, ahahahah, avevate dubbi?!?)

This is the first nail polish I chose for the ABC Challenge. A very special one, A England Princess Sabra (also called Tristam Eyes, the beautiful cat of Adina, the mind and the heart behind the english brand).
Princess Sabra is a beautiful olive green with a holo scattered finish. It is opaque in two, thin coats, it dries fast and longevity is exceptional.
Every time I write a review about an A England product I have only enthusiastic words to describe it: the quality is great and the colors really unique, which is important to me - when you have 470+ polishes in your stash you want something rare and different.
