Stamping time: Snowflakes!

Ciao a tutte!
Ricordate l'Essie Bikini So Teeny?!

Essie Bikini So Teeny

Buona domenica a tutte!

GOT Challenge #9: Skittle! [Pastel Polka Dots Nails]

Hi everyone!
Time for another appointment with GOT Challenge! The theme of the week is Skittle, and I must admit that I hadn't done a skittle nail art before!
So, for my first attempt, I chose pastel colors as main theme. These are the nail polishes I used:

ABC Challenge: R for Reciprocal Gradient Nail Art

Hi ladies!
Today I'm going to show you a nail art which was inspired by this tutorial. Colette is probably my favourite youtuber ever, she's known as the Water Marble Goddess but she also creates other fabulous designs.
Anyway, for my version of Reciprocal Gradient nail art I decided to use green as predominant color. The dark green is Rampage by Illamasqua, the lighter green is Mojito Madness by Essie and I used a cheap polish by the Italian brand Chic for the white.
Since Colette did a perfect tutorial, I won't explain how I did this nail art, but I'd like to share a couple of considerations. This nail art is not that difficult, but it's really, really time consuming and you have to be extremely patient. Take your time. I will repeat it again: you'll need a LOT of time.
I think it looks best on long nails, but if you have medium nails you can try with two colors instead of three. I also think that the best results can be obtained with creme polishes: in my opinion it will be difficult to show a neat and clean gradient contrast with other finishes.
I really, really like the final result. Now I'd like to play with many other colors! Maybe blue, purple, pink or red...!
Hope you like it too, thank you for reading and watching and... Have a nice day!

Ciao ragazze!

Oh my God. It's Monday. Again. ç_ç
I'm already tired and stressed so I need a special polish which can improve my mood. And I picked Essie Mojito Madness. As I wrote in the past, I have a controversial relationship with this brand: some of their polishes are wonderful and have an excellent formula, some of them are epic fails with an awful formula.
I have to say that at first I was disappointed by Mojito Madness too: its formula is runny and difficult to apply homogeneously. Luckily, this polish is self-leveling, so no problem if you can't obtain a perfectly even surface! It also has an amazing pigmentation, it's almost a one coater. It dries fast and it's very glossy and bright even without a top coat. Moreover, it has an excellent longevity.
My conclusion? Mojito Madness is definitely an epic win.
Hope you like it too, see you soon and have a nice day!

ABC Challenge: J for Essie Jamaica me Crazy

I know, I've been a very bad blogger lately. I'm not in the right mood to post and write.
I'm sooo happy I decided to participate to this polished marathon, so I have the chance to sit down and write... At least once a week!
Today I have for you a nail polish by Essie, Jamaica me Crazy, a nice magenta polish with a subtle shimmer. I don't have a good relationship with Essie products, I've tried several of them and I often hated their formula.
Luckily Jamaica me Crazy has a very good formula, it's easy to apply, even if its brush is really huge!
Two coats for the perfect coverage, it dries fast and has a good longevity too.
Anyway, after application, I noticed some ugly bubbles on the surface of my nails, even if they are not visible in my pics. Phew.
That's all I have for you today, but I'll try to post again as soon as possible. As I wrote in my last post, last Saturday I went to Cosmoprof Worldwide, it was a wonderful experience. You can find a lot of pictures of my adventures on my Facebook page. I'll add a few more in the next days.
Thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

ABC Challenge: P for Polka Dots

Hi ladies and welcome back to ABC Challenge!
Today I'm going to show you my first Polka Dots manicure.
But first-of-all, a couple of considerations. I don't know why, but those nail arts which are usually considered a bit hard to realize (such as one stroke or water marble) are extremely easy to me.
On the contrary, I have serious issues when I do super simply nail arts or designs, such as polka dots.
This mani was a real challenge!!!! My dots were different in sizes, even if I used the same dotter to do them. Some of them were not round but square, etc. etc.
In the end, I like a lot the final result, but what a struggle!
Well, this is a list of the products I used. The base color is Essie Knockout Pout.
On the index finger I applied, only in a little part of the nail, Orly Purple Leather, an intense purple with a vynil finish.
For the middle finger I chose China Glaze Light as Air, a light lilac with a creme finish.
On the pimkie I used Eyeko Nude Polish (I swear, I will never, never, NEVER use this polish again in my entire life), a sheer nude with a creme finish and a super runny formula.
On my thumb I realized a full nail design, using all the polishes written above in a sort of "gradient polka dots".
I chose a full nail design also for my ring finger, but I added a touch of magic with three holographic polishes: Layla Misty Blush on the top, China Glaze IDK in the middle and Nfu Oh #63 at the base of the nail.
As you can imagine, there was plenty of nail polish bottles on my table during the realization of this nail art!
Hope you like this mani, see you soon with letter Q and don't forget to check the other ladies' entries!

ABC Challenge: K for Essie Knockout Pout

Smalto del giorno: Knockout Pout di Essie. Sottotitolo: I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world!

Polish of the day: Knowout Pout by Essie. When I look at this color, I start singing: "I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world!" (do you remember the song???). Because I think that the better description for this color is just Barbie pink.
Technically, it's a super bright, neon pink. In fact it dries satin.
Talking about formula and application, I have to say first that I could split my Essie polishes into two groups: in the first group, all the polishes that have a perfect formula. In the second group, all the polishes which have a meeeeh formula.
Knockout Pout is a meeeeeh! This polish is not too thick or too runny... The thickness is perfect. But it's almost impossible to obtain a smooth result. Even if you apply an even coat, you will notice spots in the color. The perfect coverage could be obtained with two coats, but I always apply three coats to hide these spots and imperfections.
The final result without top coat is nice, I love polishes that dry satin, but after three coats you will need a lot of time for drying. I tried the sandwich method (two coats of polish, top coat and another coat of polish) but, once again, I couldn't obtain an even result and I noticed spots of color.
If you want to keep the satin look, just wait. And wait. Maybe you can use drying drops if this helps - I don't believe in this kind of product, I tried Essence and Qtica drying drops and they were useless.
If you want a glossy finish, simply apply a top coat - I used a Essence TC which is not fast drying and I waited only a few minutes.
That all I have for you today, hope you will have a wonderful evening and see you soon with a bestial post!!!!

Tag: 7 Deadly Sins

A year ago I wrote a tag about 7 deadly sins in beauty; it was so fun that I decided to post another similar tag, so these are my 7 deadly sins in nail polish!
If you want to read more about nail polish sins, check the other ladies entries!

Barbara - Nail Polish Crazy
Francesca - The Beauty Case
Simona - Light Your Nails

1) GREED: What is the cheapest nail polish in your stash?

I have bougth a lot of Essence polishes for 99 cents. I picked Fatal because it has an incredible quality... This polish is a bargain!

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific.

2) WRATH: Which polish do you have a love-hate relationship with?

China Glaze Passion in the Pacific. The color is gorgeous, almost unique, when I look at it I think at the Carribean Sea but... Capture its true color is impossible. Really impossible. I tried with 5 different cameras but no way. Moreover, this polish doesn't dry. After 48 hours it is still dentable. Even if you use a fast drying top coat.

3) GLUTTONY: Which polish have you most desired ever since you first saw it?

OPI DS Glamour. It had been my biggest lemming for years, and now I have it (thank you Simona!).

Trauma.

4) SLOTH: Which polish do you hate wearing because of the trouble you have to go to either applying or removing it?

I picked Zoya Nova because it was my very first "heavy" glitter. I hate removing glitter polishes, even if I couldn't live without glitters!

5) SUPERBIA: quale smalto sei orgogliosa di possedere?

A England Iseult.

5) PRIDE: Which polish are you proud to own?

A England Iseult. I think that I was one of the first italian customer of A England, the brand that I call "the brand with a soul", and I'm proud about this.
I fell in love with A England thanks to Iseult, so that's why I chose it.

Ok, sto divagando).

6) LUST: Which polish makes your nails look sexy?

According to my boyfriend, a classic french manicure. According to me: Essie Too Too Hot. Its name serves as a guarantee!
I love wearing Essie Too Too Hot in combo with MAC Red.

Ozotic 528. Sigh sob.

7) ENVY: Your biggest lemming: you envy those who own it.

Ozotic 528. Sigh sob.

Happy Birthday to my blog with Essie Too Too Hot!

Salve ragazze!
*sgrunt*

Tornando al Too Too Hot...

Hi ladies!
Last Thursday it was my first blog anniversary but, since I am a degenerate mum, I didn't have the time to write an appropriate post. So I want to wish it "Happy Birthday" with a very special polish, Too Too Hot by Essie. Moreover, I can also celebrate the first 50.000 visits on my blog!
What can I say... Thank you soooo much for the time you spent here, reading, commenting and watching at my posts and at my pictures!
I am so sorry that I can't organize a giveaway... Maybe some of you read about the ridiculous issues about giveways in Italy, which are suppose to be against the law... I am looking for a manner to celebrate in any case, but I have to think well about this because that stupid law provides for very high fines (from 50.000 till 500.000€!!!) and I don't want to risk anything. Some months ago a very "honest" person signalled to the Ministry a lady who organized a giveaway on her blog and she's having lots of troubles. I think that, in this moment, we should care about other problems than GAs in my country...
I am sure I will find a "regular" way to celebrate, so stay tuned!

Back to us... Essie Too Too Hot belongs to Braziliant collection (summer 2011) and it's a tomato red with a hint of coral. It has a creme finish which is so glossy that it almost seems jelly. Perfect coverage in two, thin coats. It dries fast and it has a good longevity.
I love it expecially on the nails of my feet, it's chic and sexy at the same time!
That's all I have for you today, have a nice evening and thanks again!

[Haul] Oh Lord, give me parsimony, but do not give it yet!

One of the most famous quotes of St. Augustin is: "Oh Lord, give me chastity, but do not give it yet". At the same manner, I hope that someday Odin and Thor will give me parsimony... Maybe not too soon!
In the meanwhile, these are my purchases of the last month!

- Ever 37
- Shaka 435
- Shaka 815

I already showed you Essence Very Cherry from Fruity TE. I also bought the scented top coat, I don't like it very much, but I have to test it better before writing a review. In the same store, I also bought:
- Ever 37
- Shaka 435
- Shaka 815
(in the pic together with Essie To Buy or Not to Buy)
Shaka and Ever are italian cheap brands.

I also bought BeYu 330, which is a gorgeous duochrome!

- 68PE
- 110
- 48 PE

I also bought three polishes by Basic Beauty, since they are still on sale (3 for 7.99€). I picked (from left to right):
- 68PE
- 110
- 48PE

As I already wrote, I was in Rome for nearly a week. I was there for work reasons, so I didn't have the chance to do a city tour or so much shopping. Luckily I arrived in Rome Termini one hour and a half before the departure of my train, so I went to Sephora and took the beautiful Essie To Buy or Not to Buy, a gorgeous pink with a hint of lilac and a strong blue shimmer.

In the end... I know. I shouldn't have bought these last two items. But I was sooooo tired, and moreover I was with two very special personal shoppers (my friends Serena and Francesca), so I bought also a refill of Aquadisiac and the stunning pigment Reflects Transparent Teal (both from MAC).
Please, absolve me!
These two young masters were incredibly difficult to photograph, so I will write ASAP a review with better swatches.
Well, that's all I have for you today! Hope you will spend a fantastic week end! I will be out of city again for a couple of days, yayyyyyyy!
