Golden Rose Holiday #58

Buongiorno a tutte!

Hi ladies!
This year is almost gone, so it's time to talk about my favourite products of 2013. I'm going to start with nail polish. I have to say that last year my list was longer, maybe I am becoming more and more hard to please?
Anyway, these are my picks!

Trend of the year

Esattamente in quest'ordine.

Textured nail polishes: easy choice. You all know that I'm crazy in love with this new finish. In my opinion, the best textured nail polishes are by Golden Rose, Wjcon and Zoya. Exactly in this order. Golden Rose and the recently born Italian brand Wjcon have created stunning shades and their prices are affordable. Zoya has offered a smaller variety of colours and shades and they're not so cheap (at least here in Italy), but I still love them.

Golden Rose Holiday #71

Hi ladies, today we have another episode of my never ending textured mania!
I'm going to show you Golden Rose Holiday #71, a light blue (a missing colour in my mini collection of textured nail polishes) with beautiful iridescent micro flakies and shimmer particles. These particles are visible also with overcast sky but really light up if the sun's shining or with artificial lights.
Two heavy coats in my pics, it applies easily and dries really fast.
I really like this baby, I think it's delicate but also gleaming. You can find it and many other Golden Rose products on Polishinail shop, which is base in Romania, so no customs if you live within the European Union.
And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice day!

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #120

Buongiorno a tutte!

Good morning ladies!
Today I'm going to show you another nail polish from Polishinail shop, that's Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #120. This festive nail polish has a clear base with round red microglitters and bigger hex glitter particles of different colours (purple, fuchsia, red, silver).

In my pics you can see a simple scotch tape with H&M Dance with Me as a base, and two generous coats of Jolly Jewels #120 that I used to create a sort of irregular, diagonal french manicure.
On my ring finger I also applied two coats of Rimmel Matte Top Coat to create a sort of accent nail.
Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #120 applies easily and dries fast, and I think it gives a very joyful aspect to any base colour you can use.
And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice day!

Golden Rose Care + Strong #167

Ciao ragazze!

Hi ladies!
Today I'm going to show you a gorgeous topper, Golden Rose Care + Strong #167. It has a clear base with round microglitter particles and glitter bars, both with a crazy holo effect. Seriously, the rainbow effect is psychedelic, it seems to have a starry night on acid on the nails.
Capturing this effect was quite difficult, because the weather it's horrible here in North Italy (it's been raining since last Friday) and, as you probably know, my camera usually dulls holographic nail polishes in general. For this reason I also included a couple of out of focus pics, because they show quite well how this polish look in real life.
For my pics I layered two thin coats over one coat of Orly Liquid Vinyl, I think that black is the best base for this kind of topper, even if it looks good even over other dark colours.
I like the fact that application is easy, the glitter particles spread well and homogeneously on the nails. Moreover, it gives to the base polish a very glossy aspect. In short, Anne from Polishinail Shop did a great choice when she sent me it for review!
And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Mish Mash Challenge #10: TRIANGLE [Geometrical Textured Nails]

In Italy we have a very famous and loved singer who is called Renato Zero. Many years ago, he wrote a song called "Triangle"; this song was considered scandalous because, of course, it talks about a "sexy party for three". Anyway, if you're Italian and you hear the word "Triangolo", you immediately start singing this old but super famous song. It's written in our DNA!!! (if you're curious to listen to it, Renato Zero also did an international English version)
Back to us, here it is my proposal for this tenth post of Mish Mash Challenge: geometrical textured nails! Here it is a list of the products I used:
  • Golden Rose #72 (base colour)
  • Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (the red polish)
  • Kiko #640 Rosso Papavero (dark orange)
  • Kiko #642 Fucsia (obviously the fuchsia one)
I did a video tutorial for this nail art so, if you're interested, stay tuned! [EDIT: video tutorial here, it's in Italian but with English subtitles]
And that's all I have for you today, now I'm going to check the gorgeous creations of the other ladies and hope you're going to do the same too.
Have a nice evening!

  • Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna (rosso)

Golden Rose Holiday #72

Ciao a tutte!

Hi ladies!
Here I am again with another review of a polish which was kindly sent me by Anne of Polishinail. Today I'm going to show (and talk about) Golden Rose Holiday #72. I'm sure that all of you know that I'm crazy in love with sand/textured nail polish, so you can easily imagine that I'm very happy to review another product which belongs to Holiday Collection. Let me also say that I've appreciated a lot the variety of shades included in this collection.

Back to us: Golden Rose Holiday #72 is a soft (almost peachy) orange with a textured finish which includes multicolor microglitters. Unfortunately the weather had been so bad since last Friday so I didn't have the chance to take pictures in direct sunlight.
Even if the colour is delicate and light, after two coats it has a perfect coverage, it applies easily and it dries fast.  I'm really happy with its longevity too.
You will see it again soon because it is the base colour of my latest nail art (there's a spoiler on my Facebook page), so stay tuned!
That's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106

Ciao a tutte!

Good evening ladies!
Today I'm going to show you another nail polish I received thanks to Anne of Polishinail, Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106. I had this product in my wishlist for a while, it's the kind of polish that drives me mad! It has clear base and a very generous amount of glitter, multicolored particles; glitters are squared and hexagonal and have different sizes too. They can be green, or gold, or purple or light blue.
I decided to do a glitter gradient over Basic Beauty #32 Amazzonia, plus a simple accent nail on my ring finger. There you can see just ONE coat of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #106. If you prefer a bolder result, two coats of this polish on its own are enough for the perfect coverage. Moreover, it dries fast and its formula is ok.
I like it a lot, it's the typical polish which can give a touch of brightness (and madness!) to a "boring" creme base.
And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and talk to you tomorrow with another post for our Mish Mash Challenge!

Golden Rose Impression #03

Ciao ragazze!

Hi ladies!
Here I am again with another "fuzzy", or if you prefer feather polish by Golden Rose, #03 from Impression Collection.
Golden Rose Impression #03 has light blue and orange bars in a clear base. Differently from #05, that I showed you here, this polish has completely matte glitter bars.
In my pics you can see how two thin coats look over Kiko #295 Cerulean Blue. Application is easy and drying time is fast.
I like this polish a lot, it's really, really similar to my beloved Nails Inc Edimburgh but it's much, much cheaper!
As usual I'd like to thank Anne from Polishinail for sending me it (if you're interested, my discount code on her shop is CRISTINA-8, Anne's shop is based in Romania so no customs if you live within EU) and of course thanks to all of you too for reading and watching!

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113

Ciao ragazze!
A me è piaciuto tanto, lo trovo grazioso e femminile, e voi cosa ne pensate?

Hi ladies!
Here I am again with another nail polish which was sent me by the lovely Anne of Polishinail.
This post will be very glitter-heavy, since the nail polish of the day, Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113, is a joyful triumph of glitter particles.
Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113 has a jelly pink base packed with tons of red hex glitter and smaller golden particles. In my pics you can see how one thick coat of this polish looks over one coat of Kiko #288.
Actually JJ #113 can be opaque on its own in two heavy coats but I didn't want to apply too many product because I don't like glitter overload in this kind of polish. Just a personal preference!
Anyway, it applies easily, the glitter particles spread evenly on the nail and it dries fast too.
I really like it, in general I have a weak for Jolly Jewels Collection, and what about you?

Golden Rose Impression #05

Buonasera donzelle!

Hi ladies!
Today, on my blog, you're going to see a debut: this is my first post about a nail polish with a feather effect! Last year Nails Inc launched a collection with four nail polishes with a feathered finish, and I was really in love with it. Unfortunately, Nails Inc products are sooo expensive and I didn't want to pay over 15€ for a nail polish; moreover I didn't want to face the shipping drama from UK caused by the "embargo" imposed by Royal Mail a few months ago.
Luckily, many other brands with much cheaper prices and easier to buy are creating collections with feather polishes, and Golden Rose is one of them. Their Impression line has even 18 shades, and today I'm going to show you of them, #05, thanks to the lovely Anne of Polishinail.
Golden Rose Impression #05 has a slightly iridescent base with red, pink and iridescent feathers-like particles. In my pics you can see how two, thin coats look of Impression #05 over Perfect H3. It dries fast and it gives to the base color a very bright look.
Surprisingly, it removes very easily. I didn't wear a peel-off base under it and I was a bit scared, but it came off easily and fast (I used my usual and cheap remover, which is Essence Studio Nails 3in1 Remover).
I like a lot this effect in general and this nail polish in particular, what do you think?
Thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Golden Rose Holiday #70

Buonasera ragazze!

Hi ladies!
Today I'm going to show you a nail polish which conquered me with its elegance and candor, Golden Rose Holiday #70. This polish has been in my wishlist since the first time I saw its swatches, and I've been lucky enough to receive it thanks to the lovely Anne of Polishinail.
Golden Rose Holiday #70 is a pure white with a textured finish and a generous amount of iridescent glitter particles. Two coats in my pics, it dries fast and has a very good longevity too - I remove it after four days but it was in almost perfect conditions.
I'm so sorry that I couldn't capture all its beauty in my pics, IRL the iridescent glitter particles are more, more visible and I love them, because they give to this polish a unique touch, they enrich it  while retaining its elegance.
And that's all I have for you today, if you're interested this is my discount code on Polishinail shop (CRISTINA-8), talk to you soon and have a nice evening!

Mish Mash Challenge #04: NAIL ART TECHNIQUE YOU HAVE NEVER TRIED BEFORE [Galaxy Nails]

Hi ladies!
Here I am with another nail art for our Mish Mash Challenge. The theme of the day is "A nail art technique you have never tried before" and I wanted to create a saran wrap manicure or galaxy nails. I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of saran wraps (even if I've seen some beautiful color combos for this kind of nail art) so I decided to do my first galaxy manicure!
The creation of my galaxy nails was quite fun: I saw a lot of pictures and tutorials to get inspiration, I spent a couple of hours before decide which nail art I wanted to imitate as much accurately as possible... But in the end I did what I had in my mind and I didn't copy any of the beautiful creations of the nail art gurus. Lol.
Anyway: for this nail art I used a lot of different nail polishes! The base color is piCture pOlish Cosmos (as Latins said, nomen omen) and here it is the list of the other products I used:
- Thumb (green galaxy): Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Pupa #706 and Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Index (blue and grey galaxy): Orly Rock Solid, Orly Stone Cold, Essence Choose Me, Coral Prosilk Las Vegas #507 and Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Middle (blue galaxy): Orly Lunar Eclipse, Essence Choose Me, Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Ring (purple and red galaxy): Orly Rococo a Go Go, Orly Rock the World, Orly Emberstone, Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Pinkie (purple and pink galaxy): Actuelle #464 Perolado, Actuelle #309 Perolado and Golden Rose Holiday #70.
For the dots and to create the shape of the galaxy I used Orly Dayglow.
Galaxy nails make me think of one of my partner's favourite book ever, that's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (and I like it a lot, too!) so I felt the need to take a pic with that book!!
I'm really happy with the final result! Of course it's not the best galaxy nails manicure ever, and I think I can improve, but I like it a lot!
Hope that you will appreciate it too, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Ciao a tutte!

- Pollice (galassia verde): Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Pupa #706 e Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Indice (galassia blu e grigia): Orly Rock Solid, Orly Stone Cold, Essence Choose Me, Coral Prosilk Las Vegas #507 e Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Medio (galassia blu): Orly Lunar Eclipse, Essence Choose Me e Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Anulare (galassia viola e rossa): Orly Rococo a Go Go,  Orly Rock the World, Orly Emberstone e Golden Rose Holiday #70;
- Mignolo (galassia viola e rosa): Actuelle #464 Perolado, Actuelle #309 Perolado e Golden Rose Holiday #70.

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #121

Ciao a tutte!
Avrei dovuto chiamarla "Merry and Bright, Christmas in July"!

Hi ladies!
Today's post is full of glitter particles! I'm going to show you Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #121 (which was kindly sent me by Anne from Polishinail), a triumph of bright red glitters of different shapes and dimensions in a clear base.

This polish had been in my wishlist for a while, because it's really similar to Orly Rockets Red Glare from Flash Glam FX Collection, but it's a lot cheaper.
In my pics, you can see how one coat of Jolly Jewels #121 looks over one coat of Orly Liquid Vinyl. Yes ladies, only one coat! A very generous amount of glitters, don't you think?
It applies easily and it dries fast, with a semi-matte aspect; for this reason I highly suggest the use of a top coat above it, so you can admire all the shine of its glitter particles.
A very festive manicure! Maybe I should have called this post "Merry and Bright, Christmas in July"!
That's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and see you tomorrow with the last post of our ABC Challenge!
