Kiko #454 Wine [Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer Set]

Ciao a tutte!

Mish Mash Challenge #18: BOARD GAME [Twister nail art]

Hi ladies!
Today's theme of Mish Mash Challenge is "card or board game", and I decided to create a simple but super funny nail art. I took inspiration from an old board game called Twister.

piCture pOlish Peacock

Buonasera donzelle!

Two years ago I wrote a post about my essential make-up products. I promised I would have written soon a similar post about my most favourite products for nail care... A sailor's promise!!!
Anyway, after a very long time, I am finally ready to show you my faithful allies in my nail care routine. Here there are!

Kiko Digital Emotion Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer Set: swatches & first impression

Ciao ragazze!

Hi ladies!
As I promised yesterday, I'm going to show you my quick swatches and to share my very first impression about Kiko Digital Emotion Sugar Mat Nail Lacquer Set.

This set is composed of eight shades which are contained in a nice box with a hinged opening and psychedelic details. It can be a very nice gift or... A self-gift too!
Unfortunately the weather is really bad here in North Italy, it rains and it seems it will rain for the entire week, so I was obliged to take my pics in artificial light just to give you an idea of the sparkle that the glitter particles give to these nail polishes. Sorry ladies. Anyway, let's see every single shade!

Kiko Digital Emotion: quick swatches & comparisons

Buona domenica a tutte!

Good Sunday ladies!
Today I'm going to show you my very quick swatches of the nail polishes from the latest Kiko collection, which is called Digital Emotion. I bought two of them, #440 Electron Blue and #442 Techno Black. I really like the other four shades two, but I already have something similar in my stash. So, let's see them!

CND Vinylux Dark Dahlia

Today I'm really, really happy to say: thanks god it's Friday!
I'd like to celebrate with a very rich review about one of the latest shade created by CND, that's Dark Dahlia from the recent Forbidden Collection. Dark Dahlia was created both in Vinylux and Shellac formulation: as I wrote in the past, these two lines have different colours in common, so you can choose which product is better for you without renouncing to a certain shade.
As the title itself of this post suggests, I tried the Vinylux version of Dark Dahlia, and of course I tested its weekly longevity.
Talking about the colour: Dark Dahlia is a very dark blackberry purple from a creme finish. It is opaque in two thin coats but, since its formula is really perfect and easy to work with, you can even try to apply one, thick coat.
It dries very quickly, even without top coat. As it happened when I tested its "colleagues" Pink Bikini and Gilded Pleasure, I didn't apply a base coat on some nails but I applied it on other nails and I didn't notice any difference in the weekly longevity. So, if you don't want to renounce to your favourite base coat, just like a nail hardener, feel free to use it above a Vinylux polish.
At the end of this post you are going to see the "evolution" of Dark Dahlia. At day #6 the tip wrapping was slightly worn out, and only at day #8 I noticed a slight tip wear. In any case, as you will see, the "frontal" aspect of the polish is nearly perfect, and we all know that this is very important when you are wearing very dark shades in which every single flaw is emphasized.
For all the details on Vinylux system here it is my introduction post about it, or you can read my full review here, or you can watch my You Tube video if you understand Italian - sorry ladies, I didn't add English subtitles to that video!
And that's all I have for you today, I wish you a wonderful weekend and... Thank you for reading and watching!

Essence Me & My Lover [Sparkle Sand Effect]

Buonasera donzelle!

Hi my beloved ladies!
Today I'm going to talk about a new entry in the Colour&Go Collection by Essence. Last September the German brand introduced three shades with a textured (or sand, if you prefer) finish. In this post you're going to see the pictures of the red one, which is called Me & My Lover.

To be precise, Essence Me & My Lover almost seems a strawberry red, and it contains a lot of gold and dark pink microglitter. As usual, the sparkle given by the glitter particles is more visible in real life than in my pics. Three coats in my pics, drying times are a bit slow (definitely slower than Kikos or Zoyas or Golden Roses textured nail polishes), but nothing tragic. Longevity is quite good, at day 4 I noticed a little shrinkage but it didn't chip.
I like this polish a lot, as usual Essence gives us the chance to try the latest trends with a minimum amount of expense. Moreover, the quality is really satisfying.
And that's all I have for you today, see you tomorrow with Mish Mash Challenge!

Review: Illamasqua Cream Foundation in #120

Even the most passionate love story can cross critical moments. And this is what happened between Illamasqua and me.
I have a large number of their products: foundations, a blush , pigments, cream and compact eyeshadows, lipsticks and lipglosses. With every single item (with the exception of a nail polish, which partially disappointed me) it was pure love at first sight.
This apparently perfect love story has sharply stopped when I started using the product of the day, Illamasqua Cream Foundation (in 120, for light skin with pink undertones).
Its packaging is simply beautiful: a black and shiny plastic box in the typical Illamasqua shape. It includes a big mirror and a square sponge with Illamasqua logo. So far, so good.
But let's talk about the product itself... OMG, what a disaster!
Firstly, the texture is very heavy and thick and difficult to work with. Secondly, it's difficult to blend into the skin or to apply it uniformly; it creates patches and spots of colour and it points out my flaws rather than hide or minimize them. I tried to apply it both with a foundation brush and with the included sponge, but no way.
It even creates flaws and imperfection from nothing: as you can see in the picture below, there are strange spots on my skin and it seems that I have super dry skin with wild pellicles. NO. I have normal-combination skin and, before taking that picture and applying the foundation, I had just done a purifying face mask and an accurate scrub. Moreover, this foundation creeps into all the little lines under my eyes and around my mouth and attaches to dry spots.
After a few hours my skin becomes shiny and oily, although I always use a mattifying powder.
This foundation should provide a medium-full coverage, but I think it is impossible to obtain this coverage, because it isn't buildable: the more you apply, the more it will tend to form these patches and spots of colour in some areas.
The only way to get a pseudo-decent result is to apply it in small quantities (and farewell medium-full coverage!), working in sections to stipple it onto the skin and very slightly blending out that section with circular motions...
It takes me approx. 10-15 minutes to apply this foundation in that way, and it still does not give me a satisfactory result. After 2 or 3 hours, my skin again looks shiny and oily.
In conclusion: no, no and again... NO! Luckily I paid "only" 10£ for Cream Foundation because it was on sale, but I didn't expect such an awful product from a brand like Illamasqua. Expecially because they proved me that they could do amazing and perfect foundations (I tried their Liquid Foundation and it's one of the best foundation ever!).
So... Thank you for reading this super long review and talk to you soon!

Delicate blue flowers [one stroke nail art]

Ciao ragazze!

Hi ladies!
A quick post just to show you my latest one stroke nail art. I used my beloved acrylic colours over Wjcon #182, then I added a bit of blue glitter powder and bigger glitter particles in blurple to add a touch of sparkle to the center of every flower.
I know that I still have to work a lot on this technique to obtain better results, but I have to say that I'm quite satisfied of this nail art!
That's all I have for you today, hope you'll have a wonderful week-end!

Mish Mash Challenge #15: HOLOGRAPHIC [Perfect #03]

Hi ladies
and welcome back to another appointment with our Mish Mash Challenge. Today's theme is holographic, and I'm going to show you a cheap holo polish from Perfect, that's number H3.
I already swatched and review two holos of this brand (H1 and H5), so you probably know that I love them! They have a good quality and a s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g. linear holo effect. Moreover, they cost around 1.05€ here in Europe.
Perfect H3 is a warm peachy pink which is opaque in just two coats. It dries super fast and has a medium longevity. It is reeeeeeally beautiful! Pure love.
And that's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Salve ragazze,

Discontinued Day #06: Sleek iDivine Glory

Buonasera donzelle

Hi ladies
and welcome back to Discontinued Days, our monthly appointment with old stuff. Today I'm going to talk about one of my favourite palette ever, that's Sleek iDivine Glory.
I love the concept (it was created for London Olympic Games), I love the fact that the names of the different underground lines matched with colours, I love every single shade and I love the quality of this palette.
The eyeshadows contained in this little jewel have an incredible pigmentation, they're not chalky or dusty and they have a good or even excellent longevity. It contains only a few matte shades, but there's a good proportion between neutral and "sober" colours VS super bright colours, so you can really create a lot of different looks for different situations with just one palette. Central (the brigh red with a matte finish) can be also used as a blush, and this is a further evidence of the versatility of this palette.
Here below you can see more pics of every colours. That's all I have for you today, thank you for reading and watching and have a nice evening!

Prima riga / First row:
Tube: champagne shimmer / shimmery champagne
Overground: beige chiaro shimmer / shimmery light beige
Bakerloo: marrone chiaro shimmer con un tocco di bronzo / shimmery light brown with a touch of bronze
Jubilee: argento shimmer / shimmery silver
Platform: grigio matte / matte grey
Northern: nero con leggerissimo shimmer blu / black with a subtle blue shimmer

Seconda riga / Second row:

October Empties

Buona domenica donzelle!
  • Garnier Roll On alla Caffeina: l'intruso.
Staremo a vedere!

Good Sunday ladies!
October is already gone, so it's time to show you my Monthly Empties. During the past month I finished only a few products (four + one "intruder"), but two of them are make-up products (eyeshadows), so I'm still quite satisfied.
But let's see in detail my October empties:
  • Bottega Verde Eyeshadow Wet &Dry Bianco/White: wow, I can't remember when I bought this eyeshadow, but I still was a university student for sure. Anyway, I love it because it was great to create a spot light in the inner corner of the eye or to illuminate the browbone.
  • Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in #01: I previously reviewed here and here other shades from this collection. I have already repurchased it, I find it absolutely fantastic and irreplaceable, it's so easy to use and has such a great quality!
  • NYC Turbo Dry Top Coat: I have already repurchased this too. It is super cheap (it costs 1.99€ only here in Italy) and has a very good quality. My polished friend Alice has compared its INCI with that of our beloved Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, which is much more expensive here in Italy, and told me that they are identical (thanks for the tip Alice!).
  • Lush Settimo Cielo (Brazened Honey): maybe my favourite face mask ever. It literally transforms my skin, making it soft and smooth thanks to the gentle but effective exfoliation, and also makes it look much brighter. Its only cons: its price!
  • Garnier Roll On Caffeine: the intruder. Because I didn't finish it, but I simply threw it in the trash. I bought it a couple of years ago (it was a new launch at that time), and after some applications I didn't notice any particular effect (it should decongest and revitalize tired and puffy eyes); on the other hand, after a while it started to give me a sort of allergy, my eyes became red and were watering after application. So I simply stopped using it and I put it aside, and now I finally decided to throw it in the trash - if it caused me an allergy when it was just opened, I can't imagine what it could happen now that it's expired!
So these were my October Empties. My "targets" of November are a foundation and an eyepencil. We'll see...!

My Halloween Nails [Claw Polish Sinister + Unnamed Pumpkin]

Ciao a tutte!

Hi ladies!
A quick post to show you my Halloween nails. This manicure has been "sponsored" in some way by the gorgeous Karen from Frazzle and Aniploish. A few weeks ago I left a heart-rending comment under one of her posts, in which she showed all the Halloween polish displays, saying that I was dying for all those beautiful bottles with unusual shapes (tombstones, pumpkins, vampire's coffins). She immediately proposed to send me some of them. Isn't she lovely?!? I have drooled for years for those super cute bottles with lovely shapes and now I finally own them!

For this manicure I started with just one coat of Claw Polish Sinister, a perfect and super glossy black with a creme finish and an incredibile pigmentation. Then I added one coat of a no name Pumpkin Nail topper with a clear base and grey-silver hex glitter and holographic crescent moons glitter.
A simple and fast manicure, but perfect for Halloween.
What about your Halloween nails? Did you create a nail art?
