Mish Mash Challenge #07: LEAST EXPENSIVE POLISH [Kiko #295 Azzurro Ceruleo]

Hi ladies
and welcome back to our Mish Mash Challenge! The theme of the day is "least expensive polish", so I picked a nail polish that I got completely for free. A few months ago there was a promo on Kiko's Facebook page, every fan could print a coupon and get a polish for free.
I picked #295 Azzurro Ceruleo (Cerulean Blue), a nice bright blue with a creme finish which I also call "the ruler blue" because it matches perfectly with the ruler I have on my desk at work.
Two easy coats in my pics (ironically the old creme polishes by Kiko have a much better formula than the newer ones), it dries fast and with a very glossy aspect. Longevity is quite good. 
A nice polish, isn't it?! And it didn't cost me a penny.

rieccoci con la Mish Mash Challenge. Il tema del giorno è "lo smalto meno costoso", per cui ho scelto uno smalto che non mi è costato neppure un penny, il Kiko #295 Azzurro Ceruleo. Come immaginerete l'ho preso con il coupon riservato ad ogni fan della loro pagina Facebook in occasione della promo di qualche mese fa. 
Il Kiko #295 Azzurro Ceruleo è un bell'azzurro carico dal finish creme coprente in due passate facili facili. Ironico che le vecchie creme Kiko abbiano una formulazione nettamente migliore delle più recenti. Comunque, io lo chiamo anche "l'azzurro righello" perché è identico al colore del righello che alberga sulla mia scrivania a lavoro. Asciuga in fretta e con un finish incredibilmente lucido. Anche la durata è buona. Bello, vero?! E soprattutto gratis!

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113

Ciao ragazze!
Rieccomi di nuovo con uno smalto inviatomi da Anne di Polishinail. Stavolta andiamo di glitter, ma di quelli allegri e festosi: sto parlando del Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113.
Il Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113 ha base rosa acceso jelly e contiene un mix di glitter esagonali rossi e tondi e più piccoli dorati. Nelle mie foto potete vedere come una generosa mano di questo smalto appare sopra uno strato di Kiko #288. In realtà questo smalto potrebbe tranquillamente essere coprente già da sé (direi che ci vorrebbero due mani belle pesanti) ma io ho preferito evitare per non ottenere una superficie dell'unghia troppo ruvida né agglomerati troppo abbondanti di particelle glitter.
In ogni caso, si stende senza problemi, i glitter si distribuiscono omogeneamente, e asciuga anche in fretta. A me è piaciuto tanto, lo trovo grazioso e femminile, e voi cosa ne pensate?

Here I am again with another nail polish which was sent me by the lovely Anne of Polishinail.
This post will be very glitter-heavy, since the nail polish of the day, Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113, is a joyful triumph of glitter particles.
Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #113 has a jelly pink base packed with tons of red hex glitter and smaller golden particles. In my pics you can see how one thick coat of this polish looks over one coat of Kiko #288.
Actually JJ #113 can be opaque on its own in two heavy coats but I didn't want to apply too many product because I don't like glitter overload in this kind of polish. Just a personal preference!
Anyway, it applies easily, the glitter particles spread evenly on the nail and it dries fast too.
I really like it, in general I have a weak for Jolly Jewels Collection, and what about you?

Discontinued Day #04: Lilyox Rossetto High Definition #05

Cosa c'è di più discontinued di un prodotto di una marca che è morta, defunta, vaporizzata senza nessuna spiegazione logica?
Per cui, signore, ecco a voi il rossetto High Definition #05 della Lilyox. Breve storia: Lilyox è un brand low cost che nasce a Bergamo (stessa città della Kiko) nel 2011. Nel giro di pochi mesi apre un numero notevole di negozi fisici, riscuotendo un buon successo, complici i prezzi davvero bassi e la qualità buona, in alcuni casi al limite dell'eccellenza.
Nell'agosto 2012 i negozi fisici chiudono per ferie e non riaprono più. Altre notizie non ce ne sono, se non qualche breve articolo su alcuni quotidiani. Il loro negozio on line sembra ancora attivo, ma io francamente non arrischierei un ordine, lol.
Sono stata abbastanza fortunata da riuscire a provare alcuni loro prodotti prima dell'insensata scomparsa, oltretutto approfittando degli sconti del 50% sui già interessantissimi prezzi.
Il rossetto del giorno, preso a 2€ o poco più, è un bel rosa carico, quasi fucsia, davvero lucido e con una buona pigmentazione. Dove lo metti sta: non si infila nelle pieghette, nemmeno in assenza di matita per il contorno labbra. Anche la durata è più che decorosa e in più la formula è ben idratante e confortevole.
Che dire se non: ma che peccato?

Which is more discontinued than a product from a brand which is lost in the middle of nowhere without any apparent good reason?!
So, ladies, here it is the High Definition Lipstick #05 by Lilyox. In short: Lilyox was a low cost brand which is born in Bergamo (the same city of Kiko) in 2011. In a few months they opened a lot of shops in many italian cities. They had a good success because their products had very interesting prices and good (or even excellent) quality. 
In August 2012 their shops closed for the Summer Holidays and they never opened again. No news on their Facebook pages. Some Italian newspapers wrote an article about the rapid success and decadence of Lilyox and I learnt there of the news of their bankruptcy. The funniest thing is that their online shop seems to be still active, lol.
Anyway: I was lucky enough to buy a few products of this brand, like some eyeshadows, a lipgloss, a lipstick. I am really happy with the quality of all of them. I bought them when they were on sale, so I paid around 2€ only for the lipstick and around 1.50€ only for each eyeshadow and for the lipgloss.
The lipstick of the day, High Definition Lipstick #05, is a bright pink, almost fuchsia, with a very glossy finish. Application is amazing, the texture is very creamy and moisturizing.
Pigmentation and longevity are quite good too and it doesn't crease. I'm really enthusiast about its quality.
What more to say? Maybe just: what a shame!

Holothon #12: Jade Vermelho Surreal

Pura lussuria. In estrema sintesi, questa è la descrizione dello smalto di oggi, il brasiliano Jade Vermelho Surreal. Un rosso pieno, intenso, brillante, dall'effetto holo linear sconvolgente (molto più che in foto, fidatevi).
Due passate per la coprenza perfetta, applicazione semplicissima e durata ottima. L'unico difetto è che i tempi di asciugatura, se non si utilizza un top coat, sono lunghetti.
Ormai non trovo più le parole per esprimere la mia ammirazione per gli olografici della Jade, per cui chiudo con un suggerimento: l'accoppiata Jade Vermelho Surreal sulle unghie - Shaka Devil sulle labbra è davvero letale!

Pure lust. This is a short but perfect description of the nail polish of the day, the Brazilian Jade Vermelho Surreal. A super intense red with a stunning holo linear effect, which is much more visible in real life than in my pics. 
Two coats for the perfect coverage, application is really easy and longevity is really good too. Drying time is a bit long if you don't use a top coat over it.
I really can't find better words to describe my admiration for Jade holos, but my pics will talk for me. Just a little suggestion: Jade Vermelho Surreal on the nails - Shaka Devil on the lips is really a deadly combination!

Mish Mash Challenge #06: HOT [Flames Nail Art]

Hi ladies!
Ready for the sixth appointment of our Mish Mash Challenge?! The theme of the day is HOT, and I decided to create a flamboyant nail art. My boss told me that I could be a perfect testimonial for a famous brand of energetical drink with these nails, lol.
Anyway, for this nail art I started with one coat of white polish (can't remember which one, sorry) and then I did a gradient with China Glaze Thunderbird (the red polish, which is also my favourite red ever), Orly Emberstone (orange) and Orly Melodious Utopia (yellow).
Then I used Essence Fatal (black) to freehand the flames and fill in the background. One coat of Seche Vite and I was ready to go!

Pronte per la sesta puntata della Mish Mash Challenge?! Il tema del giorno è HOT e io ho deciso di creare una nail art fiammeggiante. Il mio capo mi ha detto che con queste unghie potrei essere la testimonial perfetta di un famoso marchio che vende drink energetiche, lol.
Comunque, per questa nail art ho iniziato stendendo una base bianca (non ricordo quale, scusate) e poi ho fatto una gradient a tre smalti usando il China Glaze Thunderbird (che poi è anche il mio rosso preferito di sempre), l'Orly Emberstone (arancio) e Orly Melodious Utopia (giallo).
Ho poi utilizzanto l'Essence Fatal (nero) per disegnare in negativo le fiamme, riempiendo tutti gli spazi. Una mano di Seche Vite ed ero pronta.
Spero vi piaccia, non scordatevi di dare un'occhiata a ciò che hanno combinato le altre donzelle, un abbraccio e a presto!

Golden Rose Impression #05

Buonasera donzelle!
Oggi un nuovo finish debutta sul mio blog. Sto parlando del feather, detto volgarmente "quello coi vermini", che tanto sta spopolando dopo una collezione a tema lanciata da Nails Inc lo scorso anno. Si tratta di un finish che mi ha attratto sin da subito, ma non tanto da coinvincermi a spendere gli oltre 15€ che rappresentano il prezzo di listino di Nails Inc (e ad affrontare il calvario della spedizione dall'UK post embargo Royal Mail). Per fortuna, come accade sovente, i brands con prezzi più friendly e più facilmente reperibili sono arrivati a ruota e ad oggi ci propongono prodotti del tutto simili a prezzi assai più abbordabili.
Golden Rose addirittura ha tirato fuori dal cilindro ben 18 proposte colore, e oggi vado a mostrarvi il #05 della collezione, nuovamente grazie ad Anne di Polishinail che me lo ha inviato.
Golden Rose Impression #05 si compone di base leggermente iridescente e numerosi fili rossi, rosa e bianchi/iridescenti. Nelle mie foto potete vedere il risultato di due passate sottili sopra il Perfect H3. Asciuga rapidamente e la cosa che mi ha sorpresa è che si rimuove molto facilmente: pensavo che mi sarei ampiamente pentita di non aver usato una base peel-off, e invece è venuto via senza sforzo col mio solito solvente Essence.
A me questo effetto piace davvero un sacco, e voi cosa ne pensate?

Today, on my blog, you're going to see a debut: this is my first post about a nail polish with a feather effect! Last year Nails Inc launched a collection with four nail polishes with a feathered finish, and I was really in love with it. Unfortunately, Nails Inc products are sooo expensive and I didn't want to pay over 15€ for a nail polish; moreover I didn't want to face the shipping drama from UK caused by the "embargo" imposed by Royal Mail a few months ago.
Luckily, many other brands with much cheaper prices and easier to buy are creating collections with feather polishes, and Golden Rose is one of them. Their Impression line has even 18 shades, and today I'm going to show you of them, #05, thanks to the lovely Anne of Polishinail.
Golden Rose Impression #05 has a slightly iridescent base with red, pink and iridescent feathers-like particles. In my pics you can see how two, thin coats look of Impression #05 over Perfect H3. It dries fast and it gives to the base color a very bright look.
Surprisingly, it removes very easily. I didn't wear a peel-off base under it and I was a bit scared, but it came off easily and fast (I used my usual and cheap remover, which is Essence Studio Nails 3in1 Remover).
I like a lot this effect in general and this nail polish in particular, what do you think?

piCture pOlish Cosmos

Ciao a tutte!
Passato un buon week-end? Il mio è stato davvero fantastico, peccato sia quasi finito.
Mi consolo postando uno degli smalti più belli che io abbia mai visto, l'australiano piCture pOlish Cosmos. Non è stato facile procurarselo, visto che è continuamente sold out nei pochi negozi europei on line in cui è venduto, e di certo non è economico (costa sui 13€), ma vale ogni singolo centesimo.
Sinceramente, dire che questo smalto mi ha stregata è riduttivo. piCture pOlish Cosmos è uno stupefacente blu navy con texture jelly ed effetto holo scattered. La profondità di questo colore è al limite dell'indescrivibile, sembra di avere un cielo stellato sotto acidi sulle unghie.
Due passate facili per la perfetta coprenza, asciugatura rapida e durata ottima.
Io sono perdutamente innamorata, e voi?

For today's post I have a very special polish, the australian piCture pOlish Cosmos, aka one of the most beautiful nail polish ever (IMO, of course). It took a while to buy it, since it is sold old out quite often, expecially on European etailers, and it's quite pricey too (it costs around 13€), but it's worth every single penny I paid for it.
piCture pOlish Cosmos is an incredible navy blue with a jelly texture and it has holo bits with a scattered effect. The depth of this polish is almost beyond words, it seems you have a psychedelic starry night on your nails.
Two easy coats in my pics, it dries quite fast and has an excellent longevity too.
I am deeply and crazy in love, and what about you?
